I sort of knew it would be Frodo who uses Narya. My favorite guy...;)Interesting how easy it was for Gandalf to get the ring. I wonder how much it really hurt Saruman when Gandalf destroyed it... Now we just have to find out how difficult it will be for Frodo to bring Merry back, and if Merry will be all right. Thanks for another great chapter!:) Please update again soon!:)

I really enjoyed this chapter as well. I always enjoy it when Frodo is in danger (even if not directly from the enemy). Great job. Too bad there's a cliff, so I can only bite my nails to the quick until you post again. I can hardly wait!!!

Nothing like having to type a review twice, especially at 7:30 in the morning. My computer decided to send the first one to the cybre-abyss.
I loved this chapter. It was so good that I lost track of time and almost forgot to get my daughter up in time for school.
Put me in that line to help kill Saruman. I was willing to hold his hand still while Elrohir cut that ring off.
I was grinning from ear to ear when I read that part about Pippin's hidden talent. Yay, Pippin!
I do hope Merry starts recovering in the next chapter. Also hope Pippin is feeling better again then, too.
Thank you so much fot this story.
Connie.

Aw, poor Merry, I just hope Gandalf, or who else is going to use that ring, can save him. Can't wait to read more!

In the midst of angst, you still have the skill to bring a chuckle:
"and a rather amazing number of bruises"
I finally got to this story and I'm hooked. Looking forward to the next update.

Oh, this is great. Really new territory for all of us. You are doing a beautiful job of blending the canon with your own incredible creativity. This is a wonderfully enriching read.
I feel like your writing style has changed a little! I love how you tell a story through dialogue . . . it's always great; I can always visualize the scene and the expressions on people's faces . . . but this story seems to have a different lens, somehow . . . a wider lens, incorporating more of the scene. Maybe it's the inclusion of so many more characters? Did you think about it, or did it just happen as you wrote?
Congratulations on a beautiful new piece of work! And on another evil cliffhanger! In some ways you have not changed, old friend . . . you still speak in riddles . . . closer than ever, aren't you? Are you being like Gandalf and talking to the wisest person (yourself) present?

This story is getting even better and more exciting with each chapter! I love Pippin in this tale, and I am sure you know who *I* hope will be the one to use Gandalf's ring to help Merry, although I can think of several different scenarios and I can't wait to see what you will come up with. Update soon!

Now they have got Saruman and Wormtongue but not the ring? Hm, where is the wizard hiding or does it need to be undone like the One Ring?

Happy sigh!!
I know you're a "hobbit person" but my goodness do you write the elves well!! I enjoyed the interaction between the twins and would have loved to have heard Celeborn's story that he told to Pippin.
Your Sam is always so steadfast and true -- exactly like I see him in the book. And thank you for keeping Frodo strong, the hobbit is no wimp and it drives me nuts when other writers turn him into a sniveling school girl -- this Frodo is still feisty and quite like I see him in my head!!
I enjoyed the comfort of this chapter -- and hope to read more in the next.
Thank you.

LOL...'real' wizard? Saruman doesn't even rate 'fake' wizard! There's a word that rhymes with wizard...hmmm, what word is that now? Lizard? Slithering wannabe. Okay...enough of me pouncing on Saruworm.
I'm enjoying this story immensely--of course you already know that, as I come back for more every time you update! Thank you for sharing your wonderful imagination and creativity. Eagerly waiting for the next one...

I can't wait to see who uses the ring. Pippin was very cute and I loved when Elrohir said, "And, most distressing of all, long periods of short rations -- a sore trial for any hobbit.”

“I believe it will indeed be needed,” Gandalf replied, looking thoughtfully from Frodo to Pippin, then back to Frodo. “But perhaps it will not be I who wields it.”
Oh! Good chapter ending!! And you are planning on making us wait how long? I do usually try to refrain from asking that ;) Our dear, brave hobbits. I hope Gandalf destroys Saruman's ring in front of him so he has to watch his power melt away. He deserves that much punishment at least.

*gasp* Frodo is going to use Narya? Or Pippin? *Cringes at the thought of troublesome Tooks with magic rings - just look what happened to those plain sensible Bagginses!*
Another great chapter. Keep 'em coming, they cheer me up on a rainy day.

"Not I who wields it" what does that mean? DO I even want to know? YES!!!!!!
And when did Saruman have his own Ring, or is that another AU aspect of the story? I'm glad you're able to update your stories more frequently than I do mine!

All right! Frodo told Gandalf! Now Gandalf just has to get the ring from Sauruman, I wonder how difficult that will be... Oooh, interesting thought, that someone other than Gandalf will use Narya...;) You have me curious!:)

You update much sooner and more consistently than I!! I loved all the hobbit and elf hurt/comfort in this chapter and cannot wait for the next. I was so deeply caught up in the story that I didn't realize how close I was to the end of the chapter until your replies to the reviews came up. I have no doubt that, were you able to be in the story, your storytelling would outshine Lord Celeborn's by far!!! Excellent job, just the right amount of everthing!!!

· Chapter 6: Strength and Uncertainty
“I don’t… I’m not feeling very well,” Frodo whispered groggily. “Don’t tell Sam,” he murmured, starting to slide into sleep. “He… he worries so…”
This is so like Frodo, not wanting anyone (especially Sam) to worry about him. I'm enjoying this story. I liked your use of the Saruman/Gandalf confusion with Frodo and his first reaction to really seeing Gandalf.

Ooo, interesting. Frodo, and possibly Pippin, using Gandalf's ring; that's a clever idea.
I really liked the scene where Celeborn senses that Pippin doesn't want to admit that he can't feed himself and just helps him without drawing any attention to the fact. He is truly learning how to deal with hobbits. Sweet.
I just want to give Pippin, Merry and Frodo big hugs. I feel so bad for them right now.
Thanks.
Connie.

So much tender and loving healing in this chapter. I can feel the peace in that tent. And Celeborn telling of Elrond's courting of Celebrian . . . oh my, but I'd love to see you tackle that one day.

Samwise Gamgee, Saruman exulted to himself, the second Ringbearer. The information I seek is within my grasp. “You can trust me, Sam,” he continued soothingly, as Sting clattered to the ground. “We have much to discuss, you and I.”
Whoa! This is, I think, the first time that you have scared me for Sam's sake. I was really worried there. He wouldn't have Frodo's more developed ability to hold Saruman off . . . he's such a honey, he would have gone down fast . . .
Look at what you've done to me! I spend all week worrying about Frodo and I end up worrying about Sam too. Great job! This is better than TV by a long shot. Thanks, thanks, thanks!
