Phew! Gandalf - oops - Saruman almost succeeded! But our brave, strong Frodo would not let him, of course! *sigh* Is it almost over, then?

periantari · 20 April 2004 · Chapter 6: Strength and Uncertainty

sorry for the double post..but just wanted to commend you also on the clever beginning of Frodo dreaming that it was Gandalf speaking to him... that was incredibly effective in drawing my attention... (well your whole story has my attention till the end ;) ahhh~!! can't wait for more =)

Periantari · 20 April 2004 · Chapter 6: Strength and Uncertainty

It's very curious how this plot will continue... the hobbits are thankfully rescued.... =) and i'm glad for that hehe but what of Merry? and Saruman? what are they going to do with him? those are my questions... i LOVE how you had Sam charging in with Sting and slashing Wormtongue with it! that was great! Samwise the Brave! Samwise the hero! =) wow...this is curious indeed on how this will continue =) Probably lots of comfort now hehe...aww poor sick Frodo~ and hopefully Elladan is holding up all right... now let the questioning and trial of Saruman begin :-0 that chapter was great =) thanks Shirebound~

GTA Otaku · 20 April 2004 · Chapter 6: Strength and Uncertainty

he he, that last bit made me laugh. Enjoyed, oh but Merry is ill as well now. I don't think I can handle this much suspense *Hides in corner*. Hope you can write more soon Shirebound : - D

Lyta Padfoot · 20 April 2004 · Chapter 6: Strength and Uncertainty

Yeah! Frodo is safe from Saruman. Loved Sam, the last bit with Frodo and Gandalf was adorable. Poor Merry, I know you'll make a way for him to be saved.

Elwen · 20 April 2004 · Chapter 6: Strength and Uncertainty

You just brightened my day. Your Saruman is so nasty. And Gandalf so kind and strong. As for Elrond . . . what can I say? In fact, all your characters are not only totally in character but more so. Thank you.

Well, I guess I really had under-estimated Sam. I should have had more faith in his one-track mind, when it comes to his master. I was yelling at him and Frodo to not believe what they were seeing or hearing. Good thing it's just me and the muts here right now, otherwise I have had a lot explaining to do. Now you've gone and put my second-favorite character in trouble. I'm assuming that Saruman didn't take Merry's memories, just sifted them: so everything's still there, just scrambled. I hope I'm reading that right. Oh man, if not, then he's really in a lot of trouble. And if there's been any damage done to Merry, then Pippin's gonna be really mad at that crazy wizard, too. Sam and Pippin agains Saruman-that wizard don't stand a chance.:) Can't wait for more. Connie.

Aha! Gandalf is going to use his ring for Merry! Maybe? But first Frodo has to tell him about Sauruman's ring! Whoa, that is a scary thought, that Merry's mind might be ruined...:o Of course, I know you would never do that...;) Go Sam! It was too bad that he couldn't have resisted Sauruman though. I have a suspicion though, that if Sauruman had continued to try and win him by flattery, he would have resisted! Sam is too humble to believe flattery for long. Remember that he even resisted the flattery and promises of the One Ring itself, there at Cirith Ungol!:) Just my thoughts! Thanks for another great chapter! I am really enjoying your story! Yeah!!! An update--very prompt, and much better than I in that area (and most others). I loved that Frodo knew the difference from Gandalf and Saruman--that was both original and interesting. The end was cute and the hold chapter thoroughly exceptional!!!!

PIppinfan1988 · 20 April 2004 · Chapter 6: Strength and Uncertainty

So glad to see Gandalf (the real one!) to the rescue! Good old Sam, too! That darned Saruman; mind-torturing Frodo and my poor Merry. :-) Oh, my now I must wait for chapter seven. Thanks for another wonderful chapter! Pippinfan

Anso the Hobbit · 20 April 2004 · Chapter 6: Strength and Uncertainty

Here I have just reviewed ch5 (extremely late though) and said I can´t wait for more and then there suddenly is a new chapter! My wish came true. :) Yay for Gandalf and Sam! When Sam burst against Saruman I thought Merry had woken up at first. But Sam is just amazing and brave. Good hobbit. I´m worried about my Merry and Frodo though. Whan *has* Sarumans actions done to Merry? I bet that Saruman has some more tricks lurking somewhere...

Anso the Hobbit · 20 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

Another great chapter! I like the conversation between Celeborn and Pippin. It´s very nice to see the elven immortality and the hobbity "haste" mixed together like that. I hope Elladan is all right and that Frodo and Merry will be too. Can´t wait for more!

Little Mouse · 14 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

Hurray for resuing Elladan! I love the way that Elrohir has a great deal to do with how Elladan is going to recover, you can just tell that their bond effects that deeply. :) Elf cuddling comming up :) he he I loved the bit about Pippin asking Celeborn about being married to Galadriel. That made me smile. I often wonder what it must be like for Celeborn to be married to someone like her. Keep up the good work. :) -Little Mouse

girlofring · 13 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

Great chapter. Sam's fury against evil Saruman. Hmm? Who will win? Love is truly a powerful ally. I hope Sam's anger as well as Gandalf's will burst seeing how Frodo has been tortured like that, tied to a very cold wall, succumbing to his illness. Now, will Saruman ever find out how powerful this hobbit is becoming as well. How Frodo was able to communicate and lead his rescuers to him and Merry? You go, shirebound!!!!

Meldewen Ilce · 13 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

I literally said "SAM!!!" out loud when I read the end of this chapter - yes, his not waiting on the others is so like Sam but I couldn't help but think "Uh oh!" - LOL this will shock some people but I am very tempted to say "Fool of a Gamgee" but that does not have the same right ring to it that "Fool of a Took" does! Still considering this is Sam we're talking about Saruman and Grima aren't going to know what hit them - especially if they underestimate him because he is a hobbit - and you know they will - LOL! Anxiously awaiting the next chapter!

fadagaski · 13 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

*cackles* Silly, impetuous, courageous Sam! *glomps hobbits* They're all so cute! Eagerly anticipating the next chapter!

PIppinfan1988 · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

Lovely scene with Celeborn and Pippin. I really like your characterizations of the elves; they're vulnerable...they seem almost--shall I say it? Almost human! I am thoroughly enjoying your elves, and most especially, your hobbits...could you guess? Waiting semi-patiently for chapter six! Pippinfan

Bluegrass Elf · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

Great story! Can't wait for more! Nothin' like a cliff hanger to keep you in suspense!

Pearl Took · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

I love the interactions between the staid Celeborn and the (even though injured) perky Pippin. I've the feeling our stalwart Elves, wizard and hobbit aren't going to find Saruman as easy to deal with as they seem to believe. So naughty of Sam to run off! ;) Pearl Took

cpsings4him · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

Oh, no!! Be careful, Samwise! Another great chapter, Shirebound! I always get excited when I see you've written something else! Blessings! cp

Annis · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

uh oh! if you've sent Sam after Frodo, well there's no chance left for Saruman! Sam the Ninja Hobbit to the rescue! *invisions Sam chopping Saruman to bits* I'm glad you've taken care of Pippin, I was rather worried for him! excelent job as always, keep up the great work!

GTA Otaku · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

Huzzah, Sam to the rescue Poor Pippin, at least he's got kind old Celeborn looking after him

Lossenchristal · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

Ooh, things are progressing nicely! That was so nice of Celeborn to talk to Pippin. He(Celeborn) usually gets left out of a lot of stories. I never knew he could sing!:) Of course, all elves can, but I never thought of the High and mighty Elven Lord singing...:)Very nice touch! That was very clever how Sam managed to get Gandalf to tell him where Frodo was! So clever in fact, that I didn't notice what he was doing myself until Gandalf noticed he was missing!:D Whew, Elladan is safe for now. Go Galadriel!:) Hmm, now you have me wondering just what Elrond and Gandalf's rings will be needed for....:) All in all, another great chapter!:) Please don't take too long on the next one! Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Connie · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

Oh, bless your heart and thank you for letting me know how my beloved Pippin is doing. The scenes with Celeborn were wonderful. Elves always seem so above everyone else that I have a hard time imagining them interacting with ordinary folk, so seeing him talking to Pippin in such an understanding way was reassuring. It is also really great to see people being respectful toward Pippin. He always seems to be under estimated by everyone, except his fans of course. Leave it to Sam. He just has to be the one to be reactionary. He always seems to think that he's the only one who can help Frodo. Sometimes I think it's only the divine will of the Valar that keeps him from getting himself, and Frodo, killed. Don't get me wrong, I like Sam just fine, but I just wish he'd let others help sometimes. Thanks. Connie.

Arwen Baggins · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

Of course Sam couldn't stay...he had to find his master! Btw, Gayalondiel and I were just talking on AIM and we think your next story should be about Gandalf being Galadriel and Celeborn's patient when the Eagles brought him to them! That would be so hilarious to read! *wink* So, will you think about it?
