Elwen · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

The conversation between Pippin and Celeborn was perfect. A tiny insight into the lives of the two great elves. The idea of four brothers hovering protectively around their sister is so sweet. And that is just such a typical Sam . . . to not be able to wait before going after his master.

Esamen/ Karen · 12 April 2004 · Chapter 5: Dreams of Starlight

He finished mixing the tonic and slid his arm beneath Pippin’s shoulders, gently lifting the hobbit a bit so he could drink. Pippin found the warm liquid to be surprisingly sweet tasting, and drank it slowly. Shirebound, you are REALLY exploring new territory in this story! Medicince that doesn't taste bad? Are you sure? I thought that bad-tasting medicine was absolutely required in order to wring the last little bit of angst from a situation before the comfort could begin! Although, now that I think about it, you DID have those nice fruit smoothies for Merry and Pippin in BCOP. But you didn't make one for Frodo, I notice . . . I just love your stories and I just LOVE this one! You have the magic touch . . . one word from "your" Sam as he shows his closeness and concern for Frodo means so much more to me than tons of spongebaths from other writers, and I don't know exactly why, but there is just a sense of real love and real action there that hardly any other writer can get across. Also, you really are covering new ground here with this particular setting and this particular group. So creative! So dramatic! And my darling Frodo is so brave and suffering so much! Keep that cough and fever going! Bows to you and blue ribbons for awesome writing! Wonderful! And another evil cliffie. Don't ever say that you don't plan to write cliffhangers. Your nose will grow. How on earth do you expect me to concentrate on my own writing when you end a chapter with my beloved Sam going after my beloved Frodo and I can't follow? Please update soon, soon . . . thanks, thanks, thanks. Esamen

Delightful update! I know many writers who fancy hobbits tend to write stories making fun of the elves. So, this is a rare treat in that we get to see some wonderful interaction between the hobbits and elves, as well as hobbit angst. I adored the interaction between Celeborn and Pippin -- I bet no one has asked him about courting Galadriel in many millenia . And poor Sam, Gandalf is not happy!! Thanks for posting this addition.

Saruman doesn't truly understand who it is he is up against. Hobbits have strength he knows nothing about, like the Ents. This is a grand story thus far!

Leah Beth · 3 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

Ah! No, no, no, no, no!!! Frodo's sick, Merry's hurt, and Saruman has them under his spell!! And their rescuers are no closer to saving them than they were before! Janet, the suspense is killing me! For some reason, I never thought that Saruman would want to recreate the One Ring. It shouldn't have surprised me, but it did. I mean, seriously, why else would he want the Ringbearer? I'm definitely enjoying this story and the way you've been writing it. It must be hard to keep three different story lines going at the same time. And all the different characters! But it's all coming together quite nicely and understandably. Wonderful chapter! :)

Oh! Poor Frodo! The little dear is so brave...nasty nasty Saruman, leave him alone! :( I love this story so far...*huggles Frodo and soothes his cough*

Hobbit Lily Baggins · 3 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

You're right! My nails will never survive this!!! I'm so glad your updating here at SoA as well, for ff.net doesn't work. A very good chapter... but ... poor Frodo has so much to suffer! And Merry, I hope he'll be alright soon!

Little Mouse · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

Hey there! :) Yay for my brave Pippin! I just wanted to cuddle him for a good long time. Such a brave little guy. Gotta love him. But there's still an Elf in trouble! Hurry up and rescue him, please! I hate to see Elves in pain. Elrohir has got to be terribly, terribly worried and anxious to get to his twin. Heck, rescue all of them- quick! I hate to see any of our favs in any kind of torment or pain. But then again, without that, where's the story? lol Keep up the good work. Your stories make for a wonderful respite in my busy days. :) -Little Mouse

Lyta Padfoot · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

Its a good thing Sam was captured with Frodo since Sam's experiences with the ring would have benefitted Saruman greatly. Poor Merry, I never blamed him since he is not accustomed to such cruel manipulation. Interesting that his experience with the Witch-king didn't turn up, but I imagine Saruman was employing some kind of evil search-engine. Your evil plan is entirely plausible, especially in light of the "Unfinished Tales" account of finding the chain Isildur used to hold the ring hidden at Isengard. Saruman abandoned wisdom and sanity long ago.

Connie · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

Good chapter. I wasn't sure what Saruman wanted with Frodo, but probing his mind for information and details about the One Ring was not an idea I had considered. Wow. Poor Frodo. They'd better find him soon, before his will starts faltering. I hope no long-term harm was done to Merry by the way Saruman invaded and then so abruptly left his mind. How's my wonderful Pippin doing? Hope we find out more about his situation in the next chapter. Hope RL doesn't get too hectic(don't know if I spelled that right at all). Thanks. Connie.

Lossenchristal · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

Hurrah for Frodo! He got through to Gandalf!:) Poor Merry though...:( I like your description of Sauruman's plans to make new rings. It sounds very probable considering how I think Tolkien described him. Great job! Another super chapter! Please continue soon!:)They need to rescue Elladan, for one... I am sure he is getting tired of lying there, even if he does have the star-glass..;) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

girlofring · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

Saruman is very evil indeed. I hope Frodo can hold on long enough to reveal to him that he can communicate with the three that still hold the elven rings. How you too weave a tale of intrigue, angst, action.

Periantari · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

intenseness indeed... jeez..makes me want to reread and reread (or go on reading the next part ;) =) just one q: why is Frodo coughing?.. do these powers make him sick in some way that affects the lungs? I suppose this ties in with his bout with fever, right? i guess speaking through the mind and not being used to it may have complications with a little hobbit. awww~!! "Frodo hang on!!!" ::can't wait for more:: thanks a lot, Shirebound. =)

Esamen · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

Ooohhh, fantastic! I just love a strong, determined, fire-eyed Frodo . . . laid up by fever and chills! I can't wait til Sam gets there. Hmmmmm . . . you gave us one cliffhanger, and now you've given us a second one that's even more intense. You are evil . . . absolutely evil . . . keep writing or we will all despair . . . best wishes for a quick success with all that doggone RL stuff that so gets in the way of our writing time.

Elwen · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

My goodness. Everyone is getting injured in this piece. You are going to need a full scale field hospital to tend them all, girl! Not that I'm not enjoying every moment of it. (Yes . . . I am a little odd, aren't I?)

PIppinfan1988 · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

I love Frodo's determination! My poor little sick hobbits! Frodo, Merry and Pippin!(Love the angst!) So the evil Saruman's plan is unveiled now...fool-of-a-Wizard! I wonder which pawn shop he purchased that fake brass and silver ring with the colored glass pieces from! I hope it turns his finger green! I say that because I still believe he's deluding himself with his worthless "power", if you want to call it that. More seriously, you never disappoint your readers; a great story, fantastic writing, and an unlimited imagination. Hope things go well in RL time so that you can hurry back and post chapter 5! Take care. Pippinfan

GTA Otaku · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

Wow, you write Saruman so well here I'm unsure as to whether to be amazed or concerned : - ) MERRY!!!!

fadagaski · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

Eeek! I'm suddenly terrified that this is going to wrap up really quickly. How long are you hoping/planning it to be? Because I don't want it to end soon! I don't follow that many fics, really, and I sooooo want this to last! Hooray for Frodo! The stubborn, fiesty little thing with a heart of gold ... and a fever?! *sobs* That's really unfair. Ooooo. O.O Just had a thought. If Saruman manages to tap into Frodo's head when he's sick, he could communicate with Gandalf, Elrond and Galadriel. Eeeeek! Was very relieved to get the email saying this was updated after being bored alllll day. Thank you!

Lily · 2 April 2004 · Chapter 4: Vision of a New Age

Oh my what a mean cliff-hanger. I stopped biting on my nails half a year ago, if I should start biting them again it will be this story's fault. My poor little Frodo, what are planning on doing to him next? ::weeps:: Erm…yes...forgot to mention - this is a wonderful story , I am waiting for more impatiently... *sneaking of to nibble my nails*

Esamen/ Karen · 29 March 2004 · Chapter 3: Unexpected Meetings

Talk about cliffhangers . . . Mount Everest here . . . shirebound, you are going to kill us all with suspense . . . and then where will your readership be? Have mercy . . . update soon . . . this is great! Will you be taking this story clear to Rivendell? how about back to the Shire? That would be wonderful!

Giu · 29 March 2004 · Chapter 3: Unexpected Meetings

Hey Shirebound! First of all I want to say "sorry" for not having left a review for a while. I didn't have much time because of school, among other things... Secondly, I want to tell you that this is a good story (But you know that don't you?) I want the next chapter because I can't stand the suspense... So please update soon ok? (Sorry for writting so little but I have to go to class so I'l talk to you soon!) Take care!

Iorhael · 28 March 2004 · Chapter 3: Unexpected Meetings

“Are you in much pain, my young friend?” Nice! Very nice, Saruman! Oh, what would he do to Frodo when he found out he was the one who destroyed the Ring? This is so intriguing! Thought I've never given more thoughts of the wicked wizard to my stories. Please update soon!

PIppinfan1988 · 28 March 2004 · Chapter 3: Unexpected Meetings

So Gandalf and Frodo can communicate telepathically? Very interesting... I like how Merry is unwavering in his defense of Frodo. Just keep that ugly Wizard away from him! lol... This is going to get even better; the Three Ring Bearers teaming up to rescue Frodo and thwart Saruman? Cool. Pippinfan

pebbles · 28 March 2004 · Chapter 3: Unexpected Meetings

What a great story. Are you writing more soon? Please, please?

cpsings4him · 27 March 2004 · Chapter 3: Unexpected Meetings
