Ellie · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 74: Eavesdropping

Too cute! Too funny! Love the blushing twin...

Author's reply

Poor Elladan - he was embarrassed, shocked, and now he's feeling guilty. Elrohir is laughing his socks off.

Elflingimp · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 74: Eavesdropping

Well you had me fooled Ha! Ha!

Author's reply

Elladan now feels terribly guilty for suspecting such terrible things :>)

lwarren · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 74: Eavesdropping

Was this an accidental overhearing...or did Elrohir plan to embarrass his brother like that? Either way, it was so funny - poor Elladan couldn't believe his ears!!! Nor could he believe his brother had never told him about this new love of his life! Is Elrohir still carrying a 'tendre' for that maiden in Mirkwood? I can't remember her name... These are terrific little snippets, Jay! I enjoy them immensely! Linda

Author's reply

Oh, it was quite accidental - Elrohir had no idea that Elladan was there, or that he'd misinterpret his words so spectacularly! The elleth from Mirkwood is Taniquel - and only Elladan realises how deep Elrohir's feelings for her are. He doesn't even know it himself yet. I'm glad you enjoy these. This one was great fun to write. Poor Elladan!

Larner · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 74: Eavesdropping

Oh, dear! Twins and misunderstandings. And Elladan was certain Elrohir was speaking to an elleth? Heh!

Author's reply

Elrohir has always been a terrible flirt, but Elladan should have known he'd never do that. And now he's embarrassed for thinking such things :)

Bodkin · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 73: Caught Red Handed

Yes, Erestor - what strawberries? Where's your evidence?

Author's reply

But answer came there none - And this was scacrely odd, because They'd eaten every one.

Bodkin · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 74: Eavesdropping

I'm with Elladan here - Elrohir!! That is too much affection for a four-legged female - even one with hair like silk. (Is Elrohir still attached to that elleth from Mirkwood? Or is that only in one story arc?)

Author's reply

I loved shocking poor Elladan like that! And now he feels guilty for having such suspicions of his twin. Taniquel is still around, but the twins don't go to Mirkwood that much now. Elladan has always thought that Elrohir's feelings for her are much deeper than he realises though. One day I'll do a Fourth Age story where they meet again ...

Kitty · 22 October 2006 · Chapter 73: Caught Red Handed

*giggle* Sweet drabble, Jay! The last line was hilarious. Hopefully Erestor will not be *too* mad - they are much too cute for that! Min did do some mischief with the Elladan/strawberry-motif, didn't she? Since "Stealth" I'm still giggling every time I see 'stwabewees' :-)

Author's reply

I couldn't resist a strawberry-based drabble for her birthday :) I'm glad you like the last line - it's based on a comment of my brother's, when he was little. When told off for climbing a wall, he said 'What wall?' (He was on top of it at the time!)

Lasse-Lanta · 22 October 2006 · Chapter 73: Caught Red Handed

Very, very cute (chuckling)! Your title is also apropos, 'caught red handed' indeed.

Author's reply

:>) I sometimes find it very hard to think of an appropriate title - but this one was easy! I'm glad you liked this.

Larner · 21 October 2006 · Chapter 73: Caught Red Handed

Ah, dear--as greedy for strawberries as any Hobbit for mushrooms, eh? Lovely image.

Author's reply

*Grin* This was for Minuial Nuwing's birthday, a friend on LJ. She writes a lovely young Elladan, who has a terrible weakness for strawberries!

Tolkien fanatic · 21 October 2006 · Chapter 73: Caught Red Handed

I love all your stories! Y don't u write some first age stories?

Author's reply

My first love is LOTR and the characters there - Elladan and Elrohir, Legolas and Thranduil - I don't read much Silm stuff.

Lasse-Lanta · 4 October 2006 · Chapter 10: The Longing

Such few words that describe so accurately the feelings of Legolas. I always felt sad for him after the quest, yes he had his friends Gimli and Aragorn, but in the life span of Elves it was so very brief. And I'm sure he found some comfort in the elvish settlement in Ithilien, but to live those years always with the longing for the sea and the longing for the simple beauties of his life in Mirkwood makes him a truely remarkable character. I felt every bit of that desire of his heart in your words.

Bodkin · 15 September 2006 · Chapter 72: Setting Forth

Better safe than sorry - and all sorts of other preparatory sayings. Restless, anxious, determined. Setting off will be a relief now.

Author's reply

Mmm. I only had Legolas in mind when I wrote this, but it's surprisingly appropriate. Restless, anxious, determined. Setting off will be a relief now. Yes, the anticipation's the worst part (and we know all about that here. My daughter's off to Uni for the first time on Sunday.)

harrowcat · 14 September 2006 · Chapter 72: Setting Forth

Ready for anything eh? Really? If only the only dangers were physical!

Author's reply

*Sigh* He was prepared to face death, Nazgul, all sorts of horrors - but it was the gulls that got him in the end :(

demeter d · 13 September 2006 · Chapter 72: Setting Forth

for whatever fate...i am sure that the mental preparation would have been every bit as thorough.Nice look over the shoulder of one of our favorite elves.

Author's reply

I'm glad you picked up on that point. It wasn't just the weapons he was getting ready, but himself as well. None of them knew what lay ahead, except that it wouldn't be nice, and that they probably wouldn't come back home :(

Lianna · 13 September 2006 · Chapter 72: Setting Forth

It must have been hard deciding whether Legolas should be honing one knife or two. I guess you prefer the book version. ;)

Author's reply

I always prefer the book version! The films were great, and I loved that scene of Legolas twirling the twin knives, but Tolkien comes first :>)

elliska · 10 September 2006 · Chapter 71: A Crisis Of Identity

Hehehe! Hilarious! Children would think that way too! Love the way Elrond handled it. That seemed very true to his character.

Bodkin · 1 September 2006 · Chapter 71: A Crisis Of Identity

That is so sweet! I can see why Elrohir would want to be first. And exactly how his confusion occurred! Kids are so literal - that is exactly what his Adar said! I must practise saying Elrohir and Elladan.

Larner · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 70: Three's Company

Sweet.

Larner · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 71: A Crisis Of Identity

Hehehehehe! And it makes such a good story here, too.

demeter d · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 71: A Crisis Of Identity

Tell your friends that this is darling. I have really seen children act like this! do you friends write and post somewhere?

Fire · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 71: A Crisis Of Identity

LOL Just how confusing can you get :) This just goes to show you that you have to be careful of what you say with small kids around.

Daynawayna · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 71: A Crisis Of Identity

LOL! How sweet! What a clever little elf to figure that out (and torture his brother with!) LOL

Ellie · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 71: A Crisis Of Identity

How cute and how funny! I could sooo see this happening! Thanks for sharing!

Lindelea · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 71: A Crisis Of Identity

*snorking* This was delightful! (And, seeing your name at the top of the SoA "first page" I remember that you have sent me a file in the past few days, and I forgot all about it... been a busy time of RL editing, and it slipped my mind after its initial arrival just as I was about to sign off. Sorry about that! Will have to go and look it up this evening, when I have some more time.)

Calenlass Greenleaf · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 71: A Crisis Of Identity

Cute and witty at the same time. Cured me of my bad mood in a flash--LOL
