KeiraAchiOkanabe · 18 December 2006 · Chapter 1: PART ONE: Tea and a nap

Ohhh! I read this on fanfiction.net! I believe I have it in my favorites. Good work!

PIppinfan1988 · 22 June 2005 · Chapter 12: PART TWELVE: Promises kept

I am so glad that Merry came through it all. Nice to see everyone rallying to his side in his time of need, poor lad. Thank you for a wonderful story! Pippinfan

PIppinfan1988 · 20 June 2005 · Chapter 9: PART NINE: Visitors

So sad...poor Merry. Poor exhausted Pippin. I'm glad Frodo and Bilbo have finally arrived. On to more of the story... Pippinfan

PIppinfan1988 · 16 June 2005 · Chapter 5: PART FIVE: Tonic and tea

Poor little Pippin being so patient! And poor Merry, wretching all over the place; the young lad is feeling horrible, I know. Loved the bit where Pippin sneaks to pull a bit of Merry's hair then shoots back to his chair when his mother comes through the door. Great chapters! Pippinfan

Author's reply

Hullo! I`m glad you`re liking it. I like turning the things around a little like this - Pippin watching over Merry and giving care and comfort, even when he`s so little. Merry needs him so much. :)

PIppinfan1988 · 15 June 2005 · Chapter 3: PART THREE: It begins

This is very well written...I like how you are writing in Pippin's whole family along with the special relationship between these two. I'm looking forward to reading more chapters! Oy, the chicken pox! I remember that well...and I feel sorry for Eglantine and Paladin in the near future; a house full of very uncomfortable children. Pimpernel and Pearl are both older than Merry, I wonder how they will fare. Great reading! Pippinfan

PIppinfan1988 · 13 June 2005 · Chapter 1: PART ONE: Tea and a nap

Hullo, Anso! This is starting out very nicely! The relationships between the family (and extended family) members is immediately eveident and wonderful. This is my current "Lunchtime Story" for at work. ;-) Poor Merry! He's my favorite hobbit--after Pippin. Pippinfan

Andrea · 18 March 2005 · Chapter 12: PART TWELVE: Promises kept

A perfect ending to a wonderful story! I'm glad, that Merry is "right as rain" again. Only a little itching here and there, but that will stop soon. So he has not forgotten his dream about Frodo and the orcs? Maybe this will be helpful someday... Conclusion: Thank God, I did not get the pox and hopefully, I never will!

Author's reply

Thanks! I`m glad you didn`t get the pox!

Mysterious Jedi · 18 March 2005 · Chapter 12: PART TWELVE: Promises kept

I think Merry is the kind of hobbit whose word I would trust. It was wise of him to not make a promise he couldn't keep.

Author's reply

Yes. I would follow Merry to the ends of the world if he asked me. I would trust him blindly.

Ariel · 18 March 2005 · Chapter 12: PART TWELVE: Promises kept

Awww... very nicely done, Anso! Thank you for writing this lovely angsty thing! Right up my alley!

Author's reply

thanks! I`m glad you liked it, even if it isn`t that much Frodo in it. :) Stay tuned for more Merry h/c/angst in the future! Frodo will always be there beside him...

shirebound · 18 March 2005 · Chapter 12: PART TWELVE: Promises kept

What a wonderful story. I do love happy endings! “I always know when you are there when I am sick. Did you feel I was there too?” Pippin said, his voice muffled from his face being buried in Merry`s shoulder. “Yes I did. I wasn’t so frightened because I knew that you were with me.” Awwwww! :D

Author's reply

Thank you! I had to make a happy ending, and Merry keep his promise. :)

Dreamflower · 18 March 2005 · Chapter 12: PART TWELVE: Promises kept

Oh Anso! What a beautiful ending to a sweet story! It's just perfect: all Merry's loved ones there, as he gradually gets better. I giggled at the pillow fight, and got all teared up at the end. This has been the *perfect* young Merry h/c! Now I'm going to have to go back and read all of it together!

Author's reply

Thank you! :) I`m so glad you liked it!

Bodkin · 18 March 2005 · Chapter 12: PART TWELVE: Promises kept

I wonder if the dreams will stay with Merry, so that Parth Galen will feel like deja vu. It's good to see Merry back to looking after his little cousin.

Author's reply

Yes, Merry is back to his good old self now, looking after Pip. I don`t know if he will remember the dreams, since everyone is asking I might write that story some day... I`m glad you liked it! :)

pipinheart · 18 March 2005 · Chapter 12: PART TWELVE: Promises kept

A great finish... Merry is reunited with his parents, and is on the mend. I loved the ending with Merry and pippin running to the old oae tree,as they talk of promises, and always being there for one another. You could feel the emotion and love they hold for each other. Great Job....

Author's reply

Thank you! They love eachother dearly you know and now that Merry is well again he is back to looking after Pip. :)

Ica · 14 March 2005 · Chapter 11: PART ELEVEN: Awakening

What a wonderful story! I just happened upon it and read it all in one sitting! I love all the angst! Worried-Pippin is so sweet, doing everything he can to take care of his poor sick Merry. The scene where he strokes Merry's cheek, and then his hand gets stuck--that was so adorable! You write all the hobbits so well! I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's reply

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it. The next, and last, chapter should be up in a day or two.

pipinheart · 4 March 2005 · Chapter 11: PART ELEVEN: Awakening

Merry is starting to recover. You get to know what pippin is thinking as he has been so worried, but he is feeling better since Merry is up and talking. merry's parents will be there soon, and he has missed them a lot. Pippin thinks of the days ahead and what kind of adventures they will see. Love it..

Author's reply

Merry`s on the mend and that is a great relief to his family. Thank you!

pipinheart · 4 March 2005 · Chapter 10: PART TEN: Getting worse

Very nice... Frodo is sitting with Merry as he is ill. He seems to get worse all of the sudden...Everyone is clustered around him as they fear the worse. Pippin is frightened but his mother trys to encouage him saying he will be well soon... Good job...

Pearl Took · 3 March 2005 · Chapter 11: PART ELEVEN: Awakening

I'm so glad Merry is getting better. I love he and Pip splashing the bath water. Wonderful!!

Author's reply

Thank you! Yes, I always thought Pippin would be the splashing of water type, Tolkien did put that into my mind himself, lol, but lads are lads so Merry would want to do that too, as he is feeling bette.

Mysterious Jedi · 3 March 2005 · Chapter 11: PART ELEVEN: Awakening

Or maybe a less wonderful adventure...but at least they meet nice people like Strider. Excellent chapter, as always.

Author's reply

Thank you! Yes I don`t think they would expect the kind of adventure they get, but it is a comfort to think that they will meet nice people.

Andrea · 3 March 2005 · Chapter 11: PART ELEVEN: Awakening

Oh! That's such a comforting chapter. And our Merry deserves it! He's been through hard times. It's quite interesting, that Merry still remembers his dreams about the forest and the Orcs. Will he remember it again, when he really has to let Frodo go? What do you think?

Author's reply

I don`t know if he will remember his dreams again. I tend to wind older stories into new ones so who knows? Maybe, if I write about that day at Parth Galen that he will. Yes, Merry deserves some rest and calm now. Thank you!

Dreamflower · 3 March 2005 · Chapter 11: PART ELEVEN: Awakening

This was just so satisfyingly lovely, Anso. Of course, it's not over yet--Merry's going to have to recover his strength, but with his Frodo and his Pippin both there, it should not be too sore a trial. I adore the gentle and tender love you depict between the three of them. It is just as I always imagine it.

Author's reply

Oh, thank you! Yes Merry needs to recover, but it should not be too hard, no. And yes, they are gentle and tender towards each other those three lads. I always have looked at them that way too. It`s not over yet though, one more chapter to go!

Lindelea · 3 March 2005 · Chapter 11: PART ELEVEN: Awakening

Oh! *happy sigh* What a lovely ending. Pippin is so bright and cheery and young and able to bounce back, Frodo is as yet untouched by trouble, Bilbo is... Bilbo! (wish he'd sit and tell *me* stories! I'll have to ask him if he's not too busy...) And Merry, how nice to see him having nice dreams. And the typical conversation at the end, the little one, so innocent and trusting and fearless, speculating on adventure, and the fond older one indulging him. Very nice, indeed. As my old riding instructor used to say: "Ya done good!"

Author's reply

Thank you for such nice words! It`s not over yet though. One more chapter to go.

shirebound · 3 March 2005 · Chapter 11: PART ELEVEN: Awakening

As the healer turned to leave, Pippin scrambled down off Frodo`s lap and enthusiastically hugged what he could reach of her. “Thank you for healing my Merry, Miss Daisy!” Yay! Healing hobbits! Such love and devotion... *sigh*

Author's reply

Yes! That is what we want, isn`t it. Happy, healthy (or at least healing) hobbits! Thanks.

Ariel · 3 March 2005 · Chapter 11: PART ELEVEN: Awakening

The thing I always cringe to see is a sappy ending to a h/c fic, but you've managed to be credible, not campy and the chapter comes off very well balanced. Good work, Anso!

Author's reply

Thank you! It`s not over yet though. One more chapter to go. I try to not write sappy and I`m glad that you find that it isn`t. Then I have achieved that at least! :)

Bodkin · 2 March 2005 · Chapter 10: PART TEN: Getting worse

Poor Merry. He is Not Well At All. That must have been a very frightening moment for Frodo. It's a lot for Pippin to deal with, too. I hope the recovery starts fairly soon - Merry can't have a lot of strength left now.

Author's reply

I think Frodo is just as scared as Pippin, yes, and it is a lot for both of them to deal with.
