Hello!!! Sorry I haven't reviewed this yet, I read it ages ago but I never could find the time- other things kept nagging for my attention.
This story was fantastic and also thanks so much for all the advice! It has really helped!

It is always a pleasure to review your story White Wolf. What a wisw Oak and a lovely, gentle, ending to this.

What better way to help a wood-elf begin to recover than a wise tree. Glad you liked the ending and the story. I hope to see you for the next adventure.

What a great story - I'm so relieved to see that Legolas was healed with help from the trees and the stars, and his good friend Aragorn. Love the way you have depicted their friendship.
I really liked Treco as a character and I hope you'll do another story sometime featuring our favourite dragon. He's quite a character and I've always had a sneaking admiration for dragons.
Author's reply
Thank you so much. Aragorn knew he couldn't really help heal Legolas by himself, so he got the elf to turn to the things that had been a part of him his whole life. Glad it worked. Thanks, I love their friendhip and have portrayed that in most of my stories.
I love Treco (and dragons in general), too. I certainly hope to write another story with him in it. I just don't know yet when I can get to it.
Thanks for the review.

so another story done. It was interesting, though Treco had a smaller part in it than I originally had thought. Doesn't bother me though.
Author's reply
Yes, done, finished, and over. Interesting is good. Treco's part was mainly to be the catalyst to get the adventure going and the one to end Allaura's "reign of terror". I'm glad you weren't too disapponted that his role wasn't bigger. I hope you liked Legolas's recovery.
Thanks for reviewing.

*frown* That's just like you, isn't it, to either end chapters in cliffys or heart-breaking scenes. And well....as for why I didn't go on here for so long....my excuse is on the review of your other story "He Just Doesn't Listen".
I have several pieces of advice to give to several people:
Advice #1: Aragorn, bring Legolas with you and GO TO RIVENDELL as fast as your feet can carry you! Seeing Legolas like that, with the stone's power burned into his soul is heart-breaking. Maybe then, at Rivendell, all the most powerful elves (e.g. Galadriel and Celeborn) should help Elrond with the healing (unless they've already left for Valinor. Well, actually, I've forgotten when this story takes place. Sorry! I can't help it! Waaaahhhhhhh!!!
Advice #2: Treco, how do you plan on keeping the necklace for its beauty if you haven't even gotten it out of you yet? And when you have, maybe it isn't wise to keep it. Though you may be neither elven nor mortal, it still isn't a good thing. Who knows what'll happen with a dragon? And keep up with your soft-heartedness. It's good to be less stubborn. Which reminds me of stubborn, that leads me to the third piece of advice.
Advice #3: Legolas, don't be so stubborn! Aragorn loves you, and if you keep being so stubborn and refusing his help, that's just bad! Well, except when you get stubborn and refuse to die, that is; that part is good. But don't be stubborn anytime else!
Advice #4: To Ricard: find somebody to take care of Ravenlore for a while and go with Aragorn and Legolas to Rivendell. Oh yeah, and bring your four guards with you too. Being controlled by Allaura for that long isn't good. And one more thing. Don't bury that statue. Knock it down and let it crack. Seriously.
Okay, I think that's all the advice I can give. I'm gonna read your newest story. I'm off now! Namarie!
-Lady Saruman =)
P.S. Since it took you so long, I'm not gonna give you your full share of Hershy's. But then again, since I delayed so badly, I will give you your full share of Hershey's. I'll forgive you if you forgive me. But from now on don't take that long anymore! Please!
Author's reply
We seem to be trading being late. Ah well, RL can be a bugger.
I like your organized pieces of advice. It's all nice and neat.
1. I already did that in "The Wrong Path”, so I wanted to do something different this time. I'm going to have Aragorn try something new. So there will be no Elrond or Galadriel or anyone else like that. You'll see.
2. Good luck on trying to separate a dragon from any of his jewels. He's not the least worried about the necklace, and I'm sure he's right. I think Treco will try to hide his soft-heartedness, but I htink he's ruined in that regard. :o)
3. Legolas is going to be stubborn, because that‘s part of who he is. But in this case, he can't help it. Poor baby.
4. Ricard thinks he will be all right now that Allaura is gone. I think he's right. I would like to see that stature turned to powder, but that is up to Ricard. Maybe he knows something we don't. Maybe it can't be destroyed, and he has to bury it.
You are forgiven, now where's my chocolate!!! :o)

Sorry about going missing! RL unfortunately. But I'm back and planning to stay. I've brought a change of clothes so I hope you have a spare room!
Poor Legolas! If anyone can sort him out then it is Aragorn of course. But it might be a long trip for both of them. I hope that we haven't seen the end of that pesky dragon, (even if we have in this story). Loved the differences you made in him.
And like another of your reviewers I don't trust matching earrings not to have magic of their own. Be careful, Ricard. Be very careful.
Author's reply
How well I know about RL and its tendency to interrupt our love of fanfiction. No spare room, but you can sleep on my sofa, if you're short. :o)
I agree that Aragorn is the best one to help, and yes, it will be a very long trip.
Treco may make an appearance in a future story, if he doesn't make it back in this one. You never know. Thank you. I'm glad you like him.

Poor Legolas. He has it bad. Aragorn is going to hurt for his friend. Especially when he has to get firm with him. I am glad Ricard can get on with his life. Now if Allura just stays dead. After all she still has the matching earrings. They just might have some magic too. Treco is funny. He is thinking totally different compared to most dragons. He will keep the necklace, now if someone doesn't stumble on it centuries in the future. Keep the story coming and update soon, please.
Author's reply
Indeed he does. I agree. Tough love will be painful for both of them, vut Legolas needs that right now. I'm glad you like Ricard enough to want him to be happy. As for Allaulra, as far as we know the earrings have no power, but never say never. :o)
Treco is funny, isn't he? I wanted to make him very different from Tolkien's dragons like Smaug. Oh dear, don't even think that. No one can ever find that awful necklace. Ever!!!

Its school holidays here in Australia and I'm thoroughly bored! So I decided to re-read a few of my favourites- and review again for some.
In my spare time (which seems to be never ending!) I like to write stories, more-often-than-not they are about 'Lord of the Rings' and usually revolve around the Elves. My problem is that I can rarely get a story past the drafting stage and its beginning to get really annoting! Another thing is I'm the sort of person that likes to know what happens after the story. Its a real downside when I'm writing.
Though my main reason here is suposed to be praise- I come in a plea for help! Advice at least, please.
(I think this is the longest review I have ever writen.)
Anyway thank you for listening to me ramble. Help me if you can but if you don't I won't hold it against you or stop reading. Dragonfire is a fantastic story and I love every word. Keep up your already amazing work.
Author's reply
It's not often that you find someone who says that they have too much time on their hands. Usually, they say they don't have enough to do everything they need to do. However, writing is an excellent way to fill the time, enjoy yourself doing it and hopefully entertain others. I'd go crazy without my writing. I also read a lot of the stories others write that interest me.
First off thank you so much for your wonderful praise. It is most appreciated.
I'll be glad to help you in any way I can. I don't, however, think this is the place to do it. If you will leave me your e-mail addy, I'll be happy to correspond with you in private, offering advice where I can and answering your questions.

You crazy evil author; =p Just had to end the story with "I have no idea". I mean, how is that going to help us? You enjoy killing us readers, don't you. Well, thankfully, I can be distracted until the next time you update; see--June 8 (today) was our spring concert, June 9 is another spring concert, June 10 yet another, June 12, Raging Waters, June 15 Dinner Dance, and June 16, graduation. By then you probably would have updated =) (or I hope) =(.
Stupid Allaura did she actually think that screaming "Give it back!" will actually cause any effect? We all know that won't work in most situations (especially for me) but we say it anyway. It's just a natural instinct. =) And really, saying "Grab the ranger, elf, and I will share the necklace with you. We can live here together forever and each get what we want." is also stupid because everyone knows that Allaura will used the stone again to force Legolas to do anything she wants, as in the case of Ricard. But Legolas would be tempted to listen, anything that will get him his prize.
Treco swallowed the stone? Amazing. I hope nothing happens to him. I really liked the part where he statue-ized (haha I made that word up but you get the gist of it *wink wink*) Allaura. She really deserved it. Well, the scary thing is that if a being looks at the stone for too long it already makes them obsessed. What happens if they swallow it? Will it have its effects with the dragon's organs and internal systems? O_o Scary. I really want to know.....hope it comes out...(I mean...come out of his rear end...) and no Elrond to help Legolas or him...this story will indeed have an interesting outcome...love it.
Well, I will not leave off this review without revenge, since your way of torturing us is a cliffy. So I will deprive you of your FULL share of Hershey's. Maybe that'll teach you to not kill us this badly. If you end the next chapter with a cliffy (well at least a major one; I won't be that mean and not let you use ANY cliffies at all) then I will completely take away the tribute and eat it all myself. =)
I really don't like the part when Legolas and Aragorn called each other liars. That hurt me as much as it hurt Aragorn, though I don't think Legolas registered one word of anything Aragorn said to him, and that's probably what hurt me most. Being an elf (despite my name; there's a reason for that), my feelings go deep. Hurry hurry hurry!!!!! Update!!!!!
-Lady Saruman
(haahaa only HALF of your Hershey's today)
Author's reply
No, I do not like killing my readers. Then where would I be? Sounds like you have been and will be busy.
Allaura was so angry and upset, she didn't think, so screaming that at a dragon didn't really register with her. She believed what she said, she figured she would keep Legolas under control with the necklace and use him when she needed him. She hoped the elf would want the necklace so bad, he'd turn against Aragon and actually grab him. At least, she hoped so.
Treco was as surprised as anyone when he swallowed the necklace. We'll see what, if anything, it does to him in the next chapter. I like the word statue-ized. She definitely deserved what she got. Aragorn will certainly have his hands full with Legolas, that's for sure.
The part about calling each other liars was hard to write. Their friendship is so strong that you never think anything like that could happen. We'll see if there's any lasting damage done.
I can't believe you are depriving me of my full load of chocolate just because my plot bunny left a ciffie. However, I will take what I can get! :o)
Thank you. I will update soon.

All Right!! Allaura got it in the end. How fitting an ending for her. Treco swallowed the stone!? Never saw that coming. At least Ricard can now get on with his life. Major withdrawal time for poor Legolas. Aragorn will hurt for him in the end. No Elrond to help with this either. Aragorn is on his own. Guilt all around by the time this is done. Legolas for what he will say and put Aragorn through. Aragorn for not being able to help Legolas more. Excellent chapter. I can hardly wait for the next one. I will be waiting impatiently for you to update. So update as soon as you can possibly can.
Author's reply
I'm glad you like the method of Allaura's demise. I think Treco was as surprised about swallowing the necklace as you were. Ricard is very happy to be free, and I'm happy for him. :o) Legolas has a hard road ahead of him, that's for sure. And you are right, things won't be easy for Aragorn either.

Sorry for the delay. Graduation is near, and work is plenty. BUT, I do love this story so much that I just HAVE to review. Well, let's start off with this:
Turning back to the elven warrior, Aragorn laid a slightly shaking hand on his friend’s shoulder. “You must fight it, Legolas, You must break the stone’s hold on you.”
Legolas shook his head. “I cannot.” There was defeat in the elf’s eyes, and his voice was soft, as he begged. “Please, Estel, give it to me.”
Wow, Legolas didn't even fight and he already admits defeat to the stone. I am very glad that violence isn't resorted to anymore, but this is worse than any physical injury that can be caused. After all, mental pain always hurts more.
AH. Poor Ricard. Apparantly he shouldn't have been so revealing to his wife even if he trusted her very, very much. He owns Ravenlore? I thought it was Allaura's place that she inherited. Why did he ever tell her about picking the lock? But even if he didn't, that option would probably come to her anyway, since that's what we all do nowadays as an experiment.
Treco's return. Amazing. But the roof isn't a very sensitive place to hide, especially for a creature his size. Apparantly he hasn't taken shadows into consideration. Something that huge would create a shadow upon the ground, if even just a tiny little one. If a bad guy look at the ground and saw and shadow and look up, the dragon is so dead.
What is Legolas's plan of obtaining the thing that is now "a part of his soul?" From the way you put it, that he didn't even feel guilty, I suspect it'll be a ruthless plan and will involve physical injuries.
Good job. You really do do well on cliffys. As for me, I hate them. I don't like suspense, you know that.
-Lady Saruman
*hands White Wolf a candy bag filled with chocolate* Enjoy!
Author's reply
Forgive my delay. RL and all that suff.
I'm afraid the violence isn't quite finished with yet. You'll see what I mean shortly. But you are right about the mental pain.
Ricard did trust Allaura in the beginning and told her everything. Ravenlore is Ricard's. Remember I mentioned that one of the reasons she married him was to get her hands on it. It was the perfect place, isolated as it is, to carry out her plans.
I imagine Allaura would have tried to pick the lock in any case, like you said. She was determined to get out, and you will se in the next chapter why I needed her to.
Treco was aware he would cast a shadow while on the roof, which is why he had to be on the side with the sun. Luckily that's the side where the next action takes place.
Legolas's plan will be revealed in the next chapter. I can say no more now.
Cliffies are fun. :o) (for me to write, that is).
Thanks for the chocolates. Keep 'em coming.

I really enjoy your story and have enjoyed all of your stories so far. Poor Legolas he makes me think of an heroin addict. They will do anything for that next fix. Aragorn at least knows now what he is dealing with. Tough love is what is needed. It will be hard on both the friends. Allaura is free. That isn't good. Now she is after both of them. Maybe she will run into an enraged dragon. I like that idea. Ricard deserves a chance to live his life without her in it. When will she need to feed again? How will the lack of it affect her? Hurry up and update. I can hardly wait for the next chapter. Will Treco be able to destroy the stone? Did I say update soon?
Author's reply
Thank you. I'm glad you like them.
You have it exactly right. I also compare Legolas to a heroin addict. Aragorn does know now, however, he has to find a way to help. That's not going to be easy. Tough love is an option, but I don't know if he'll think of that. Allaura is after the necklace first, and she'll try to destroy anyone who gets in her way. Ricard was just a victim in all this. We'll have to see what becomes of him.
As for Treco destroying the stone, he tried once already. Remember? He tried to flame Allaura while she was wearing the necklace, and nothing happened to either. All your questions will be answered.

you have got to stop leaving these cliffhangers. good chapter. I'm expecting Legolas to either demand the stone and attack Aragorn or be like Aragorn after the stone was used on him and just be really out of it.

Sorry. My plot bunny loves cliffhangers. I'm afriad we're all stuck with them I think getting Legolas free of the stone will be like getting a drug addict free of heroin. It's not going to be easy. Did I say my plot bunny doesn't do easy? :o)
