Armariel · 28 May 2006 · Chapter 3: Under the Gloom of the Dark Lands

Beautiful! I just kind of wanted to pick Pippin up and run out of there with him....Well, unfortunately now I gotta run, get ready for work--later I hope! ~~~{~@

Author's reply

You are being so kind to read all theses tales like this, thank you so much, Armariel :) I was glad to give him this oportunity to be proved to his fellow soldiers of Gondor.

Armariel · 28 May 2006 · Chapter 2: "A Tale To Tell"

Sweet and lovely. A great contrast to the previous tale, each voice being distinctive and true to character. I like the way Sam isn't afraid to say what others are thinking but don't dare speak aloud. Now for the next....... ~~~{~@

Author's reply

Thank you, Armariel! It had to be a very hard time for the three of them, and a great relief to know that Frodo would get better.

Armariel · 28 May 2006 · Chapter 1: "Confession"

Keep meaning to get back to this set and always have something else going on, but now I'm glad to be back! A most startling and delightful tale. M & P seem more like brothers than cousins here! Pippin is such a kick in the pants! And I bet Merry deserved what he got! lol ~~~{~@

Author's reply

Thank you, Armariel :) Yes, I think things started to even out for them - I'm sure Pip wasn't the only one to be foolish ;)

Pipkin Sweetgrass · 26 April 2006 · Chapter 16: An Unlikely Heritage

Oh, I loved loved LOVED it! I just adore your interpretaion of the faerie bloodline. Will there be another? *whines* Thank you so very much, it just burns like the full moon or the morning sun...burns in a good way. The ending was perfection itself! *applauds*

Author's reply

Thank you thank you THANK YOU! My dear Pipkin :) "it just burns like the full moon or the morning sun" wow! thank you :) so poetic :) As I just wrote to GW - I'll happily write more when the muse sends it :) Author Reply: Sorry, that was GT *embarrassed blushing*

Garnet Took · 25 April 2006 · Chapter 16: An Unlikely Heritage

Oh, I just love this. The bit where Pippin puts a thought into Faramir's mind was cute. Interesting how kids don't like getting back what thely dole out to others. I just get all guishy excited when you write any story with the Took Sight or their Faerie heritage in it. You keep writing it, and I'll keep reading it. Yes? Thanks GT.

Author's reply

Thank you muchly, GW :) No, getting back what you dole out can be tough. That's why I'm carful about teasing and practical jokes - I don't take them well so I try not to do either. I'm so glad you like my stories about the Took Faerie Blood. I'm feart of getting too spacy or not believable with it. When something stirs it in my fuzzy brain, I'll happily write more :) Author Reply: Garnet, forgive me forgive me, please forgive me! I didn't look carefully enough and thought you were GW! Then, I was looking at the responses to this and saw hers and realized my error. I'm very sorry *much embarrassed blushing* As I said - fuzzy brain.

Bodkin · 25 April 2006 · Chapter 16: An Unlikely Heritage

If Faramir does this to his friends and family, it's not surprising the cousins were goading him about Tookish weirdness! (Mind you, brainwashing him into liking asparagus wouldn't be such a bad thing.) Effective way of helping him realise what he is doing, too. And I love the idea of Faramir being part of the Faerie conspiracy of Tookishness. Beautifully poetic language ... Green fireworks filled in her eyes. Breezes blew through her golden-red hair and stirred the leaves at her feet. Cullassisul’s smile brought his own smile to Faramir’s face. The sort of wording that sends shivers down your spine.

Author's reply

Thank you so much, Bodkin :) Yes, there had to be some reasons that the other hobbits felt "... there was still something not entirely hobbitlike about them..." I'm so glad you enjoyed the descriptive passage about Cullassisul, I try to write passages about her in an older and more poetic style. I'm glad it shows and comes across well :)

Grey Wonderer · 24 April 2006 · Chapter 16: An Unlikely Heritage

So Faramir will now get his explanation! Would that someone with the answers would show up around here every time someone needed them. LOL Lovely as always.

Author's reply

Amen to that one! It is nice to know more about one's self. Thank you so much, GW for all your support and encouragement :)

Armariel · 23 April 2006 · Chapter 17: "Elements"

Lovely poetic prose, just breathtaking. Shouldn't have been surprised to see Pippin in there....but I was! lol ~~~{~@

Author's reply

Thank you so much, Armariel! Yeah, Pip has a way of being in most of my stories :) I'm so glad you enjoyed this :)

Armariel · 23 April 2006 · Chapter 16: An Unlikely Heritage

Sweet and charming and delightful, unique amongst fanfics....did I say "amongst"?? Anyway, beautifully written and different! I shall read more later..... ~~~{~@

Author's reply

Wow! "unique amongst fanfics" :D Thank you so very much, Armariel :) I'd had a rough week and your words did much to brighten me up. Thank you :)

Armariel · 23 April 2006 · Chapter 15: Faeries

PIppinfan1988 · 23 April 2006 · Chapter 16: An Unlikely Heritage

Awesome, Pearl! This is the perfect sequel to Faeries! I love how the Took Sight is passed down from Pippin to Faramir...and how Pippin helps Faramir to understand the gift. Gotta love Cullassisul, too! Beautiful. Pippinfan

Author's reply

Thank you so much, dear Teriadoc!! I'm glad you liked it and felt it fit :)

Bodkin · 23 April 2006 · Chapter 17: "Elements"

Gandalf conceals himself beneath a costume of familiarity - but really he is nothing like the grumpy old man he shows people. The right words at the right time - and Pippin is heartened for what he will face.

Author's reply

I always liked that Tolkien had Gandalf be a mystery, and the he often had the right words to say. :) Again,Bodkin, thank you so much for reading my stories and for leaving a comment :) :)

Bodkin · 23 April 2006 · Chapter 15: Faeries

Green eyes met green eyes, and green stars danced. Autumn leaves rustled. Cullassisul smiled. Lovely. Unearthly and special. And the actual knowledge will take all the sting from the stupidities of little boys. Pippin was so unpanicked by his son's disappearance that he just had to know where he was! Very wise of him to leave Faramir some time to himself.

Author's reply

Yes, knowledge can be a great comfort and defense :) Thank you for stopping by and for responding, Bodkin!

PIppinfan1988 · 21 April 2006 · Chapter 15: Faeries

Little Faramir is so cute! Pippin is such a good father to take the time and explain a few "things" to his son. :-) Love that Took Sight! Wonderful--as always! Pippinfan

Author's reply

Thank you, m'dear! Thnk you so much for responding.

PIppinfan1988 · 21 April 2006 · Chapter 17: "Elements"

Oh, Pearl! I very much enjoyed this tale about Gandalf and his eternal battle with evil, the Balrog, and then finally coming to the place where he comforts Pippin during the seige. I enjoyed it again! :-) Pippinfan

Author's reply

Thank you so very much, m'dear, for all your encouragement.

EstellaB · 29 March 2006 · Chapter 4: "Faramir's Afternoon"

This is so funny! And fluffy, and cute! And you needed it after the last chapter-it was just the place to put it. Though I will admit, I didn't realise it was Faramir Took until you mentioned Great Smials. I thought it was Faramir from Gondor. *Blushes*

Author's reply

Estella, I'm so sorry! I meant to respoond and lost track of things, I'm very sorry. Thank you :) I love the things children think to do :)

Bodkin · 9 March 2006 · Chapter 14: "The Burned Hand . . ."

That must have been such a hard moment for Pippin. And yet it brought him to a wise conclusion. Not such a fool of a Took.

Author's reply

Thank you, Bodkin :) No, not such a fool ;)

Bodkin · 9 March 2006 · Chapter 13: "At The Races"

Good to see Ted Sandyman being caught out by his own attempts at cleverness. It won't have increased his affection for Frodo, Merry and Pippin though. Or Sam.

Author's reply

Thank you, Bodkin :) No, deffinitely no love lost between Ted and our favorite four hobbits :)

Larner · 7 March 2006 · Chapter 14: "The Burned Hand . . ."

Ah, how wonderful to find that strengthening lesson in the shadow of evil memories. And always love seeing Pippin as a Guard of the Citadel, you know.

Author's reply

Thank you again, Larner! Unfortunately, hard situations often are the best teachers. He is wonderful when he is being his Guard of the Citadel self indeed :)

Larner · 7 March 2006 · Chapter 13: "At The Races"

Oh, how wonderful a conspiracy to find the truth, and a wonderful prize to the true winner! Excellently done! Trust Ted Sandyman to be untrustworthy!

Author's reply

Thank you, Larner! Yes, it fits the cousins to come up with such a plan :)

Larner · 7 March 2006 · Chapter 12: "In The Smoke"

A proper subject for posting just before St. Patrick's Day, of course. Nice.

Author's reply

Thank you, Larner :) Sorry I was so long in responding.

Baggins Babe · 7 March 2006 · Chapter 13: "At The Races"

That made my day, Ted Sandyman get his come-uppance! He never does well in anyone's universe does he? What a clever plan by our favourite hobbits, and nice to see Sam getting in on the act. And the bit about the necklace was priceless! Lovely story.

Author's reply

So glad to make your day, B.B. :) There are just those people in life that don't leand themselves to nice, and Ted is one of them. Glad you liked the necklace ;)

Rachel Stonebreaker · 24 February 2006 · Chapter 8: That Which Cannot Be Put Into Words

Lovely ficlet! I see why it was a Marigold Pic. I've heard music is the universal language. You certainly brought that back to my mind. I especially liked (well, BESIDES my favorite part which would be Pip singing), I especially liked the introduction via Galadrie's mind's eye. ~ Rach

Author's reply

Thank you, Rach! I've always loved that even vocal music in a language you don't speak can still stir your emotions. Thank you for liking it being Galadriel's point of view :)

Baggins Babe · 22 February 2006 · Chapter 10: Ponderings

Gaffer's pride in his son was very touching. I love the Gaffer and you've caught him to perfection - that mixture of stubborn independence and vulnerability, not letting on how much he can hear , staying quiet and observing. Bless the old hobbit!

Author's reply

Bless him indeed! I'm so pleased that you like how I write the Gaffer :) Thank you so very much!

Baggins Babe · 22 February 2006 · Chapter 9: News

This was a lovely look at the beginning and end of the Quest through Berilac's eyes. Had to giggle at his intention to 'throttle Merry' but it is understandable. And how nice that Beri wanted to be there to see Freddy released.

Author's reply

Thank you, Baggins Babe :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. I know I would have wanted to ;)
