Rathir and Thad as room-mates in a rather unpleasant jail. Yep. It'll do. Two nasty pieces of work. I should think Leandir is pleased at the chance to lock them up and flush the key. I'm glad Legolas is recovering - I can't see him being too anxious to spend much time among men for a while. Except Estel - but then, he's almost an elf in some ways. Good to see everything working out at the end.

Author's reply

I think Rathir and Thad deserve each other as roomates as well. Should be a fun stay for them. Thank you so much for sticking with me on this story and for all of your reviews!!

Laureleaf · 21 June 2006 · Chapter 999: Epilogue

I go on a small study abroad trip for a month and come home to find one of my fave stories completed! Both a blessing and a curse - glad i didn't have to wait for the last chapters and sad to see it end...I'm glad Estel was able to see justice done AND recover Legolas's long knife!

Author's reply

Well, you've made my day be saying this was one of your favorite stories. Thank you! And I'm so glad that you liked it. Thanks for all your reviews!!

RonaLena · 20 June 2006 · Chapter 999: Epilogue

Ack! when did you finisht this? I had no idea that I had missed two chapters. Nicely finished off, Nettie. I am so glad that the bad guys got thier come-uppence and estel got his revenge. Lovely closure to the whole escapade. I hope you have another fic planned. If you have, you can plan on seeing my name among the reviews.

Author's reply

I got ahead of you did I? ;o) I am glad that you liked the ending and thank you for sticking with me through it and reviewing all along. It is much appreciated!!

Fire · 19 June 2006 · Chapter 999: Epilogue

A fine ending to a fine story. Justice served at last to Rathir and by the hands of none other than Estel :) You have done a great job with this story and I must admit it's one of my favorites.

Author's reply

Thank you very much! I am so happy to hear that. Thank you for sticking with me through it and reviewing!!

Manderly · 19 June 2006 · Chapter 999: Epilogue

Ah, the bad guys get their just dessert, at last, though I think serving jail time is a bit lenient. The blood thirsty side of me is coming out, I guess. So does Legolas get his memory back? I guess he will in due course, but then this little episode with men is probably something he would rather forget if he can. Thank you for such a wonderful story! I have really enjoyed it.

Author's reply

A cry for blood? I would have never expected it :o) Glad that you liked the ending. When I researched amnesia it stated that the patient will not regain memory of the incident in which the trauma occurred so I tried to stay true to that. Thank you for reading and reviewing. I am glad that you enjoyed the story!

daw the minstrel · 18 June 2006 · Chapter 999: Epilogue

Well, I'm extremely glad that Rathir got his. Too bad it wasn't more painful. And I'm glad Leandir was the one the take him in. The marshall deserved that satisfactiong. Nice story, Nettie.

Author's reply

Hmm, I would never have taken you for the type to want harsh punishment ;o) Thank you for reading and sticking with me through this one and thank you for the reviews!!

Fire · 13 June 2006 · Chapter 23: Returning To Normal

Well it looks like Legolas is very much on his way to a full recovery, eventhough he thinks things are happening way to slow. The letter to Estel made it very clear that indeed: "he is back"

Author's reply

I have a feeling that any recovery, no matter how speedy, would be too slow for Legolas :o) Thank you for reviewing!!

Bodkin · 13 June 2006 · Chapter 23: Returning To Normal

I'm glad wisps of memory are returning and beginning to build up a bit more of a picture of his life. The letter to Estel is delightful - I look forward to discovering the effect of thimbleweed on the elven constitution. Perhaps. I love the line “I stopped taking the heads of attendants just before your birth. We were running low.” Although I expect Calorthil cringed. The relationship between Legolas and his father seems to be comforting to both.

Author's reply

Thank you! I'm glad that you liked the chapter and the interaction between Legolas and Thranduil. Thank you so much for reviewing!

Elflingimp · 12 June 2006 · Chapter 23: Returning To Normal

That chapter was so enjoyable! Even with all the pain of not exactly being able to grasp all his memories fully, there was laughter and joy! Wonderful

Author's reply

Thank you so much! I am glad that you enjoyed it :o)

daw the minstrel · 12 June 2006 · Chapter 23: Returning To Normal

Well, that sounds like a difficult return but a return none the less. Legolas's memories are coming back, thank goodness. And he does sound like the elf Estel knows in his letter. Good.

Author's reply

I thought it more believable to have some memories coming back slowly and some not coming back at all. When I researched amnesia it said that the patient never recalls the incident in which the trauma occurred so I wanted to stay true to that. Thank you for your review and comments :o)

Bodkin · 6 June 2006 · Chapter 22: More Healing

I should think, given what happened to Legolas and Estel, that Elrond was worried sick about letting them leave without guards - but couldn't say anything to knock Legolas's confidence. Homemade tarts? It's not only Legolas who wants an explanation of that! The journey home seems to have been good for both Angrod and Legolas - and probably filled in some gaps and made Legolas feel a bit more grounded. And now he's home to Thranduil! Fingers crossed that does a bit of memory jogging!

Author's reply

Thank you for your review and comments. I am sure it was hard for all of the Imladris inhabitants to let Legolas out of their sight again but they knew it was important for them to get home. The homemade tarts episode has been spoken of throughout the story, beginning with Angrod's memories on his way to Imladris. Glad you liked the chapter.

Fire · 5 June 2006 · Chapter 22: More Healing

A lovely chapter. I loved the way you described the loose interaction there had always been between the two elves. And I loved reading how Legolas may have lost his memory but is still so much the same elf he always was, still the same personality and sense of humour. The love Thranduil and Legolas share is quite obvious as well.

Author's reply

Thank you! I'm so glad that you liked the chapter and the interaction between Legolas and Angrod. They are fun for me to write :o) Thank you for reviewing!!

Robinscat · 5 June 2006 · Chapter 22: More Healing

Hi, I just wanted to take a minute to let you know what a great story you are weaving. I have followed along quietly and am enjoying every chapter. But this one was special. Thank you for letting the healing continue in Mirkwood. So many authors have the healing process only in Imladris and with Elrond and his sons. I was afraid that when you got Legolas to Imladris he would get his memory back and everything would be hunky dory. But to me, complete recovery would happen at home, in Mirkwood with his father. Thank you for sharing you gift with us. Robin

Author's reply

Thank you! I am glad that you are liking the story. Legolas, from the very beginning, has wondered most about his home and family so it just felt right getting him back to them as soon as possible. Thank you for reviewing!!

Angelelf · 5 June 2006 · Chapter 22: More Healing

I have followed this story since the beginning and I just love it! The characters are very powerful as you have written them. Please continue as I can't wait to see where this will go.

Author's reply

Thank you very much! I'm glad that you are enjoying the story and thank you for reviewing!!

daw the minstrel · 5 June 2006 · Chapter 22: More Healing

Nice transition chapter, Nettie. I particularly liked Angrod feeling "alive" during the race and the paragraph about how they neither hurried nor tarried. There does seem to be healing going on here.

Author's reply

Wow! I've been bad. I thought I had responded to the reviews for this chapter. Sorry! I'm glad you liked the chapter. I like writing Legolas/Angrod Chapters because there is more freedom with an OC. Thank you for reviewing!

RonaLena · 1 June 2006 · Chapter 21: First Meeting of Old Friends

"Jaw Session"! I love that phrase. :) I must admit I was afraid that when Legolas realised his old friend was a human I thought he would run for the hills in fright. It is lovely that although he does not remeber estel, he could sense comfort and friendship in him. Very sweet chapter.

Author's reply

Sorry for being so slow on this response. I am glad that you liked Legolas' and Estel's interaction. I played with several ideas and this one just felt more natural to me. Thank you for reviewing!!!

Bodkin · 1 June 2006 · Chapter 21: First Meeting of Old Friends

I imagine that having Estel tucked in bed and injured must have made him rather less threatening to an ill-treated Legolas who didn't remember his friend. And then, as soon as he opens his mouth, he's clearly elf-raised - which must make him less dangerous. The flashes of returning memory are promising. His father and his home. Two things that will make him feel much better.

Author's reply

Estel probably just has one of those auras that makes one feel comfortable, hmm, I need to find me someone like that :o) Thank you so much for reviewing!!

Manderly · 30 May 2006 · Chapter 21: First Meeting of Old Friends

Ah, the reunion between the two friends at last. It is so nice to see Legolas getting glimpses of his home and father. Maybe the memories are starting to come back? I like the way he keeps patting the letter from Thranduil like it's his security blanket. In a way, I suppose it is. It's his only link right now to a life that he doesn't remember. Another good chapter. Thank you!

Author's reply

Thank you! That is the feel I was going for, that Legolas would keep verifying that connection to a father he "lost", I'm glad you liked it.

Elflingimp · 29 May 2006 · Chapter 21: First Meeting of Old Friends

Hello!Happy Memorial Day.great chapter I just hope Legolas will find the Key to his memory if you get my meaning and please dont let the bad guys get away! Even if Legolas cant remember its neat the way him and Estel can still have the same relationship and comfort each other.

Author's reply

I have had a huge demand for justice on the bad guys, I have taken it into deep consideration ;o) Thank you so much for reviewing!!

daw the minstrel · 29 May 2006 · Chapter 21: First Meeting of Old Friends

Well, that was therapeutic. I was so pleased when Legolas had those memories of Thranduil, and I had to laugh at Estel's description. Scary, passionate, kind, loving--nobody you'd ever want to cross; someone you'd be very glad to have on your side. That's the Elvenking.

Author's reply

Thank you! I am so glad that you approved of Thranduil. I never really understood the mean, abusive, elven father, doesn't make much sense to me.

Fire · 29 May 2006 · Chapter 21: First Meeting of Old Friends

It's good to see that Legolas starts to rememer things. And it's even better to see that it's because of Estel telling him about them that he does. The trees of Mirkwood will be a very good thing for Legolas to see again.

Author's reply

Thank you! I am glad that you liked the chapter. The trees would be great for Legolas right now, I'll have to work on that :o)

Laureleaf · 22 May 2006 · Chapter 20: A Father's Love

Beautifully done. I can see how you are slowly tying things together, but not in a way that rushes the story. And the response of Thranduil was that of the loving Ada that many believe him to be. Can't wait for the next chapter! Don't you love how we read what you have so painstakenly written, only to turn around and immediately demand more? ;)

Author's reply

I can't believe I forgot to do reviews for this chapter, I apologize!! I am glad that you liked the chapter and approve of a loving Thranduil, I always liked him better that way. Demanding more is much better than begging me to stop ;o) Thank you!!!

RonaLena · 22 May 2006 · Chapter 20: A Father's Love

Oh wow. That was beautiful. I cried. :(

Author's reply

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

daw the minstrel · 22 May 2006 · Chapter 20: A Father's Love

I feel for Estel. Being stuck in bed is bad enough, and he's evidently not supposed to move even there! That would be really uncomfortable even without the wounds. He's healing though, and that's good. I'm so glad we got to see the letter from Thranduil.

Author's reply

I can't believe I forgot to do reviews for this chapter, I apologize!! I feel for Estel too, being stuck in bed is no picnic :o) Thank you so much for reviewing!!

Bodkin · 22 May 2006 · Chapter 20: A Father's Love

Poor Estel. Healing must seem such a slow process. I'm glad to know Elrond thinks he's doing well. Legolas's problems might be a bit of a setback, though. Although, I suppose Legolas's memory contains one rather lovely man to set off the recollection of the scum. Much as Thranduil wants him home, I feel he would be better staying with Elrond for a while - at least until he is somewhat better healed. Travelling cannot be good for head injuries.

Author's reply

I can't believe I forgot to do reviews for this chapter, I apologize!! Thank you for taking the time to review. I have a feeling that Legolas is going to be really difficult to hold back now that he knows he has a father who loves him ;o)
