Raksha The Demon · 4 June 2007 · Chapter 9: Inheritance

Interesting! Dunadan Uber Alles; there's a concept. Good thing Aragorn realized where the Ring was trying to lead him, and rejected Isildur's mistake. A Ring-bound Aragorn could be very, very dangerous.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I fear the Ring could turn anyone into a power crazed meglomaniac, especially if they were already powerful.Legolas said how terrible Aragorn would be if he took the Ring. Thank Goodness, Aragorn's goodness and wisdom prevailed !

meckinock · 29 May 2007 · Chapter 7: Flash of Foresight

Ouch for Faramir. It's interesting (and painful) to imagine that he might have had the deck stacked against him from the very beginning, if Denethor had the famous Dunedain gift of foresight and somehow interpreted him as a threat to his beloved eldest son. Poor Denethor, too, for not being able to relax and just enjoy being a father. And thanks for the virtual goodies! What a nice surprise, and greatly appreciated.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I often wonder why DEnethor favoured Boromir and this was my attempt to think of a reason.I'm pleased you found it interesting. You are most welcome to the vitual gift.It is a small way to say thank you for all the hours of reading pleasure you have given me,

Larner · 27 May 2007 · Chapter 7: Flash of Foresight

The brother rejoices; the father fears what he foresees. Alas that Boromir proves the wiser in this case. Poor Faramir.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I was trying to think of a rason why Denethor so preferred his eldest son.

harrowcat · 27 May 2007 · Chapter 7: Flash of Foresight

I agree with you that Denethor may very well have been a better Father if his second child had been a daughter but, then, he may well have tried to coddle her too much poor girl!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Who knows what Denethor would have done with a daughter?I agree he might have been over protective.

daw the minstrel · 27 May 2007 · Chapter 7: Flash of Foresight

It seems to me that the gift of foresight would be a major source of pain, and in this case, it may have created years of trouble between father and son. Denethor wasn't an easy man to live with, but he had a hard time himself too.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I agree foresight would be difficult to live with. I don't much like Denethor but I feel sorry for this tragic complex man.

Bodkin · 12 May 2007 · Chapter 10: Tamer of Man and Beast

Ahh! Faramir has talents unsuspected - and he's too modest to feel that anything he does is worth flaunting! How better to impress the King of the Horselords than show himself with the ability to be a horse-whisperer.

Author's reply

Thank you for your much appreciated review.I think Eomer will have a far greater respect for Faramir from now on.

Larner · 9 May 2007 · Chapter 10: Tamer of Man and Beast

Yes! Our Faramir is indeed a wonder!

Author's reply

Thank you, I agree!

Rugi · 9 May 2007 · Chapter 10: Tamer of Man and Beast

What a sweet vignette! I always thought it was interesting that Faramir is able to connect with animals as well as people - it sounded to me like an interesting ability and I love that you portray it so kindly here. It's amusing to imagine Faramir being able to handle a horse better than one of the Rohirrim but seems possible with his unique talent.

Author's reply

Thank you for your much appreciated review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this.

Raksha The Demon · 9 May 2007 · Chapter 10: Tamer of Man and Beast

Oh, very nice! I can definitely see Faramir as a horse whisperer. Now I'm visualizing him as a modern Western (American) cowboy, complete with hat, working with horses and wearing blue jeans, mountains at his back....Sorry, another Wondeful Faramir Moment! Thanx for the drabble!

Author's reply

Thank you for your much appreciated review, you are most welcome to the drabble. Our Tolkien heroes could have lots of alternative career choices !

Baggins Babe · 6 May 2007 · Chapter 4: Walk no more in shadows - Awakening

I've been catching up with this collection and loved this one. I've always been intrigued that Faramir's first words were of recognition for the King, and this was a marvellous look at that moment.

Larner · 6 May 2007 · Chapter 8: The New Arrival

My older brother was unimpressed when I was born as small as I was--he thought a baby sister would be already able to sit up and pull myself to my feet and follow him about as his friend's baby sister did. Instead he got a small thing that couldn't even sit up yet! A lovely look at the introduction between Boromir and his brother.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you enjoyed it.Thank you for sharing your memories.

Bodkin · 6 May 2007 · Chapter 8: The New Arrival

Perhaps he could have a puppy, too! After all they turn into playmates much more quickly than baby brothers. Enjoy them both while you can, Finduilas.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated comment.Perhaps Finduilas has a puppy waiting for Boromir too.

Raksha The Demon · 5 May 2007 · Chapter 8: The New Arrival

Awwwwwwww! L'il Boromir meeting his red-faced wrinkly newborn brother and deciding that little brothers could be fun. He'll probably be very impatient for Faramir to learn to crawl and later walk. Nice characterisation of Finduilas; who has a mother's pride in her two jewels.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you enjoyed this.I'm sure Boromir will be very impatient for his little brother to be able to play ! It was my first attempt at writing Finduilas,so I'm pleased you think it worked.

Raksha The Demon · 2 May 2007 · Chapter 5: Behold the King

A wonderful vignette on Aragorn's POV of this, his greatest day so far; a truly timeless moment. Good attention paid to his essential humility, and his finally being able to cast aside all masks and stand forth proudly as the king he has always been.

Author's reply

Thank you for your much appreciated review,I'm delighted you like this. The Muse was very kind to let it jump into my head and your suggestions helped a great deal.

Larner · 2 May 2007 · Chapter 5: Behold the King

Yes, how utterly right, Linda. Yes, how right.

harrowcat · 1 May 2007 · Chapter 5: Behold the King

I am glad it jumped into your head and even gladder that you let it loose for us all to enjoy!

Author's reply

I'm so pleased you enjoyed it and hope it cheered you up after "Web of Treason" !Sometimes my Muse gives me a pleasant surprise as it is often a lazy or capricious creature !

shirebound · 1 May 2007 · Chapter 5: Behold the King

New strength courses through my veins. I feel the burden of my long years of wandering lifted. Today, I am reborn as Elessar, Envinyatar. I show my true face at last The sea of smiling faces gladdens my heart. They are my people now. I will protect them as a loving father protects his children This is just perfection, Linda. What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful king.

Author's reply

Thank you so much, you have made my day with your kind words !I'm so pleased you like it.It just jumped into my head this moring.

Bodkin · 17 March 2007 · Chapter 4: Walk no more in shadows - Awakening

They make a good team - and it's rather like a couple of jigsaw puzzle pieces click into place. Mithrandir must be grinning with satisfaction!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. They do indeed make a good team! I like your image of the jigsaw pieces coming together as Gandalf hoped.

Larner · 16 March 2007 · Chapter 4: Walk no more in shadows - Awakening

Absolutely perfect!

Raksha The Demon · 15 March 2007 · Chapter 4: Walk no more in shadows - Awakening

Squeeeeeeeeee! You know that this is one of my favorite LOTR moments. And you capture it beautifully in this linked pair of drabbles.

Author's reply

Thank you so much,it is one of my favourite moments too,if not THE favourite moment. I'm pleased you like these as I consider you have written the definitive fanfic about these moments.

Julia · 15 March 2007 · Chapter 4: Walk no more in shadows - Awakening

A very lovely pair of drabbles from both men's POV. I love how Aragorn thinks how Faramir recognizes him closely enough to be his own son.

Author's reply

I'm pleased you enjoyed these.Tolkien points out how alike the two are,so I thought I'd build on that point.

Calenlas Greenleaf · 15 March 2007 · Chapter 4: Walk no more in shadows - Awakening

Nice, Linda. A wonderful way to celebrate when they met. The only date I can remember is Aragorn's birthday. The 15th of March slipped from my mind. Again, lovely fic. ~Calenlass

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you enjoyed these. I remember 15th March as it was my late Aunt's birthday and is my half birthday,if one can be said to have such a thing !

shirebound · 15 March 2007 · Chapter 4: Walk no more in shadows - Awakening

Walk no more in shadows cast by others. Awake, O Jewel of Gondor, to walk in the sun at my right hand! “What does the king command?” he asks me, thus bringing closer my dreams of marriage and heirs. Love springs between us. Friendship and fealty both, kindled in that instant. Ohhh, how wonderful! These are utterly lovely.

Author's reply

Thank you so much ! You have made my day !
