· Chapter 58: Trust - A Drabble (Boromir/Faramir)
A warm love between the two brothers, one that remains with them ever, even when parted.
Author's reply
Ah! When I see a picture like this, it breaks my heart. Knowing that Tolkien envisioned an afterlife for Men makes it a little easier to bear the separation for these two.

Ah, too much wonder at times. And a fascinating rhyme scheme.
Author's reply
Thanks, Larner. I have no training in poetry and I know it shows, but I have always hoped that the 'heart' of the poem will overcome the 'law.' All are written with my heart.

And that sacrifice is now offered. Alas for Faramir, losing the last of his family in this war, although he will find his family by marriage in it.
Author's reply
It does seem as if Faramir and Eowyn did live happily ever after. Who could not have, with such a King and Queen as friends.

What a sweet story! And the pictures are terrific.
Author's reply
When life gets interesting and I need a 'real' dose of Elves and Men in all their glory, I pull up Kasiopea's website and I am refreshed. Glad you enjoyed it. The pictures of Boromir/ Faramir remind me a little of your Legolas and family! Great writing all of your 'Young Legolas' tales are!

This is a wonderful picture of a big brother that really knows how much his little brother loves and worships him. I wish that more big brothers had the same sensitivity.
Author's reply
Thanks Neilia, and I hear what you are saying. The little quote about the brothers' relationship in Tolkien's appendix absolutely is gorgeous. I think Kasiopea's picture really tells it well. I'm glad my little drabble could further your understanding of that relationship!
Thanks!!!!

I like this but need to re-read it when my hubby isn't here with the TV going - LOL
I will do so after New Years :-)
Author's reply
Glad you enjoyed it - having someone watch TV while trying to read anything Tolkien-related can be difficult!
Happy New Year!

· Chapter 56: Farewell - A Thousand Word Moment (Boromir/Faramir)
I love your Boromir and Faramir. This brought tears to my eyes.
Author's reply
This was very difficult to write. I have seen someone who I love beyond belief take his own life. How does one live with that? How does one retain their own sanity? Having a brother such as Boromir by his side was a help. What was Faramir left with, once Boromir was gone, but his words of wisdom. Thank you for your support and comments. I am most grateful that Boromir and Faramir ring true, as brothers, for you.
Author Reply: Psst - another chapter of 10,000 years will find it's way here soon! Don't give up hope, Sarasrati!

· Chapter 56: Farewell - A Thousand Word Moment (Boromir/Faramir)
This is beautiful Agape! I've not had to experience, but have been told by some who have, how incredibly difficult and frightening it is to watch a loved one go mad. I love Boromir telling Faramir to protect himself and not the the madness destroy him as well.
Simply beautiful!!
MEWD :-)
Author's reply
*sobs* - I do so hate what these boys lived through their entire lives. First their mother, then their lands and their people, fellow soldiers and young children, women... all suffering either death or sorrow due to Sauron's evil. Gondor truly suffered. And so did those who tried to keep her safe. Faramir was caught, in the end, but thanks to Pip, was saved... Boromir had to have been very, very happy to discover that his friend saved his brother! He could rest, wherever he was, in peace.

And how he did try! Wearing his armor night and day, spending even his own sons! Alas for Denethor!
Author's reply
Oh Larner... reading about him wearing the armor in the book really made me feel so sad for Denethor. Yes, he gave everything... And some would berate him.

· Chapter 55: The Promise - a Quintdrabble (Denethor)
This was very touching. I have to keep reminding myself that you are writing your universe :-) It would be a horrible burden to have to keep writing such missives.
Author's reply
Well, someone had to write them, Pearl, and I think Denethor would take that task from his son. Boromir was out in the field for long periods and wouldn't have the time to do such a difficult task. Writing one letter would be hard enough. Writing dozens...
I'm not sure what you mean about 'my' universe... I try to remain as true to canon as possible. I don't think it beyond the realm of that to have Denethor writing these.??? And who is to say this was not part of the burden that finally pushed this wise man over the edge???

· Chapter 54: Finduilas - A Drabble
Poor Finduilas--toward the end so much must have seemed overwhelming.
Author's reply
I pass a little promontory by the huge lake I live by when driving to work everyday. It gives me inspiration and hope and peace to see it jutting out calmly into the waters. Sometimes the lake is filled with 7-8 foot waves, sometimes just little whitecaps, and sometimes flat and peaceful. Finduilas needed some water by her, not just a fountain by a dead tree. Overwhelming indeed.

· Chapter 15: Boromir on Feanor - A Double Drabble (Boromir/Faramir)
Hmm, interesting. I wish Boromir had gotten to see there what he longed to see…
Author's reply
Of course, the blaming Feanor was done tongue-in-cheek. But Boromir was right in the fact that the mountain should be beautiful and living and bring joy and peace to Gondor's people. I too wish Boromir could have seen that.
Thanks so much for your comment. Forgive the late reply, please?

Yes, this is so like ‘Thorongil.’ It’s a pity that the damage was already done and that he returned as Denethor took his own life.
Author's reply
Hi, sorry for the late replies.
Poor Thorongil/Aragorn definitely did not have life do what he hoped. I remember his great concern at Amon Hen as everything he did went wrong, in his sight. Poor dear. Eventually, everythign turned out fine... but difficult to work through. And yes! Wish Denethor and he could have worked something out between them. Drat!
