After the battle of the Pelennor Fields, Aragorn goes to the Houses of Healing, not only out of a sense of duty to the wounded, but to answer a question that has gnawed at him for many years. The story is founded on canon, but has moments referring to the movie-verse -- even though in the movie-verse Faramir, Aragorn, and Denethor don't resemble each other as much as in the books. Author's Note: This story was inspired by a casual remark of a non-book-reading friend. She said that one line she did NOT expect to see in the movie of Return of the King was Aragorn saying, "Faramir, I am your father."
