The dust is settling after The War of the Ring. The various characters are working out their future paths. But Eomer, King of Rohan, is still assessing the past. Then he meets an original character, a female healer from Minas Tirith who has her own methods of treating both his physical and spiritual wounds. I wrote this story to acknowledge Karl Urban's immensely physical portrayal of Eomer in the films of The Two Towers and The Return of the King, even though the story is set mostly in the book-universe. While I doubt if I could write any story without a little bit of angst, here it's kept to a minimum. Eomer, book or movie, just never struck me as being a terribly angsty person, unlike his brother-in-law, for example.
