| I really enjoy this story. It's honest, sweet, and mindful of the fact that little warriors who do such great deeds and get injured don't recover in the turn of a page. Much of the characters' relationships to each other can be demonstrated in such a period of healing, and this story reflects them quite well. For this chapter, though, I have a question about Aragorn's methods. Given that he knew there was a broken eye socket involved, and that the possibility that a bone fragment from the eye socket could have done damage to the involved eye, I wonder about Aragorn's pausing to test the rotation of the unaffected eye before examining the eye ensconced in the broken socket. The eyes won't move independently, so I'm curious as to why Aragorn was not concerned about the eye in the broken socket incurring injury when it moved for the first time while he was testing the opposite eye. It would be difficult to say just where a bone shard could be that might do some damage to a turning eyeball. And now Pip's reporting peripheral vision problems... And another question... I saw on another archive that this story has been updated with an extra chapter or two. Is this edition going to get a similar update? | |
