I had not recognized the title, but I remembered the story. A wonderful sweet, caring story. Thank you once again, GW!!! Author Reply: Thank you! Your reviews are so wonderful and this little story hadn't received one in a while. It's always fun when someone comments on an older story, don't you think? Happy Holidays, dear friend!

So glad you enjoyed this and that you liked Esmeralda. For some reason, she shows up in a great many of my fictions. I enjoy writing her. Thanks again!

Pippin is excited about snow, but merry and frodo love maps... He wanted so bad to play the slider game but being too young couldn't. Being pipin he went out on his own, and took a try and ended on the brandywine... Good thing Merry and frodo came to the rescue.... Great story... Author Reply: I should get you to write the little teasers for the beginning of my stories. I never know how to discribe them. You give a good book review. Glad you enjoyed this and thanks for the review.

What a totally sweet story! I kept expecting the ice to crack and break, but you have this wonderful talent for writing the unexpected! A beautiful example of the love between these two (three) young cousins. Thanks for sharing! Pippinfan Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed it. I started to let the ice crack a smidge, but didn't, then I started to put them both in the Brandywine and decided against it. It would have made the story too long for where i posted it. It would have been a whole nother story and I am in the middle of too many now. LOL Thanks for reading!

I'm so contrary, I read the stories out of order, but the second one had enough explanation in it that it made sense anyhow. This is so sweet! I love the last few lines. Very realistically done! You had me wondering if they'd both fall through the ice and have to be pulled out. Thanks! Author Reply: As I was writing this I did think about putting them both in the river, but since I have already put Merry in the Brandywine once, I decided to let his rescue mission be successful. Good to know that these can be read out of order btw. Thanks for the review.

That was great! I like the way you wrote Fredegar and Falco. Just names from the books but you gave them both a lot more character! We just had our first bit of snow here so Pippin's excitement over the snow is very real at my house! Whew! I'm glad that no one took a dip in the river! They all did very well! Thanks for the story! Author Reply: Hey, you've got snow? That's great. I love it when it snows. This is the first snow-related hobbit story that I've ever written. I am glad that no one at your house wound up in the river while enjoying the snow and I am grateful to you for your reviews. Thank you!

Oh, such tension! This was very well written, stretching the rescue out to an agonizing degree. I hope this teaches Merry a lesson. I knew he was in for it when he wouldn't turn away from those maps. I really like this chapter! :-) Author Reply: This one is a bit longer and a bit more tense than the other ones in this group. I am glad that you liked it. Poor Merry, look at all he has to go through just to spend a few hours enjoying some maps with Frodo. LOL

This is so adorable, and quite a believable scene! I like to imagine little shivery Pippin waking up in bed to find Merry there with Frodo, and Pip feeling loved. :) Author Reply: I almost contiuned this one, but I decided to stop where I did with Merry taking care of Pip on the way to the Hall. Maybe at some point, I'll take it a bit further. Thanks so much for the review and for reading.

Precious!! Absolutely precious!! These are just such wonderful stories. :) Author Reply: Thank you so much. This one showed up last night and I couldn't get it out of my head until I wrote the entire thing down. Thanks for the reviews!

Oh this one was wonderful! Very different from your others, a bit of humor, but mostly some nice tension and danger. I did like the hobbit version of hockey, and I really enjoy your Fredegar--he's a very sweet and responsible young hobbit, and very good with Pippin. And Frodo's assessment of Merry, so on target--that he would do whatever it took to get to Pippin, even if it were a bit reckless. And finally the ending with Merry carrying his beloved Pip back, just so sweet! And *that* will teach Merry and Frodo to go looking at old maps when Pippin wants to play, won't it? So there! Author Reply: Maybe the Shire should form a Hobbit-Hockey League now? LOL Thanks for reading and I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
