You`ve done it again! I don`t know how you come up with all these things to heppen, but it makes for very enjoyable stories. I must say that it`s good the hobbits are close to a House of Healing with all the accidents and ruffians and healing that needs to be done. I`m sorry Pip-lad was so afraid of Strider, and who but Arwen could make him unafraid again? Somewhere, in chapter 65 I believe it is, you send Merry and Estella off to a walk in the gardens and Rose is pregnant again: It seems to me that this is a place as good as any for making new hobbits, lol. Here they are in peace and quiet (at least some of the time) and have a Healer-King close at hand if something happens. It sounds like heaven on earth, lol. I like how Arwen and the guardsmen get along with the hobbits. The guardsmen had to learn it at first, but they do make good friends with the hobbits. And she practically gave Posey her life back. That is no small thing to do, even if Hilly has to go to Gondor when she dies. Poor Diamond and Merry! I was worried for Pip there for a chapter or two, but eventually he came to reason, even if they had to "trial" him first, and a good decision he made. Oh, and I love that Bilbo Gamgee was born on the same date in the same room at Bag End! And the ending was lovely, why Merileth should even be called "Merry" since her husband is "Denny" to the hobbits, lol, as they mingle so nicely together, big and small. Thank you for this great story! I loved it. Now I`m off to start reading the new one you`ve posted. Author Reply: Who ever said hobbits were dull? (Actually, I think they run and hide in holes in the ground when they hear me coming...) I think the New City an excellent place to visit, nearly so intriguing as the Shire itself! Such lovely comments; they help me to see the story through eyes not my own. Merileth as "Merry", what fun! You're welcome, of course, and thank you for taking the time to share all these lovely comments.

Ah, *sigh*, it's over. Oh dear! But the nice thing about skipping all those years to put in an epilogue (during which you fit in several of your other wonderful stories) is that you now have a nice long gap (only *partially* filled! *hint hint* But when it comes to Lindelea stories, I'm insatiable. Author Reply: Words to bring a smile even to the Muse, sulking in the corner and refusing to whisper. Says she has laryngitis and is taking the weekend off. Such is life. Amazing how those gaps beg to be filled, isn't it? But of course, you do such a marvellous job of gap-filling yourself! Thanks!

You are one of the most organized writers in all of Fan Fiction. I think that by posting this you have answered a great many questions for readers who might not have read the other fictions that precede ths one and the ones that come after it in your time-frame. I wish everyone did this. Everything hooks together so nicely this way! I also like the reference links. I plan to visit those over the weekend. I also enjoyed your description of Shire Justice. Everything makes perfect sense. I am looking forward to the rest of this one and may just have to re-read "At The End of His Rope". I believe that I read that one quite some time ago and this one makes me want to read it again. Author Reply: Just wish I could be so organised in other areas! (Homekeeping, for example) Glad to get the feedback on the justice making sense. A lot of brainstorming went into it. Helps to be related to lawyers, though of course they're horrified by the traditional "guilty until proved innocent" attitude. Well, if you do re-read "Rope" drop me a line here and there to let me know you were there. It's always nice to hear that someone has visited a story (as you undoubtedly know). Thanks!

When I saw that these notes are published (again) I thought for a moment you were done with the story. But there are a few loose ends still to tie up - What about Jack being the biggest one in my mind. Did the king's men make an attempt to find him? Did he hide outside the hall during the judgement of the ruffian, or has he bolted? He was, at least before the incident at the falls, planning to lay low during the hobbits' visit and stay in the town afterward. Has being recognized changed his mind? Where will his band wander to next? I had almost forgotten about the ruffian myself, though I expect Pippin could not, as his vacation wore on and he watched his family around him. The king has worked it out quite cleverly to take Pippin back for the trial, but how will it be explained to the hobbits? Author Reply: When you see the chapter title "Epilogue" you'll know the story is at an end. It is not the next chapter to be posted (as of this reply) but perhaps the one after that. Jack's loose end will be tied up in the Epilogue. How the trial will be explained to the hobbits is a part of the next chapter to be posted after "Trial by Law". Thanks! I certainly appreciate it when you pose questions, as sometimes you remind me of things I'd forgotten and still need to take care of! (Though thankfully today I see from the draft that your questions posed in this particular review are pretty much covered.) The hamster is still quite the hit around here. What a personality the little critter has! Author Reply: p.s. Oddly the hamster is losing all the hair on her belly. We are worried but don't have a clue what to do. A vet bill would be several times the cost of a new hamster. Hope that doesn't sound callous. It's a reality of life. But try to explain that to a little one.

Oh dear, I didn't think it would end here. You do have a follow-up planned, right? This story was really good, and I look forward to whatever you give us next. Thanks. Connie B. Author Reply: oops, sorry, that's not the end; I hit the wrong button while adding more material and "published" the last chapter of notes. There is still some action to go, and an epilogue!
