| Oh Ariel m'dear... I've just read the first chapter and I KNOW I'm going to love this fic. A strong, protective Frodo... what more can I say than YES, YES, YES!!!! The very Frodo Baggins within my dreams these two decades (and yes that DOES make me feel OLD). Even now imagining myself a saucy 3'5" halfling wench spending quality time stranded in a basement with Our Hobbit. (Words fail me). Thanks - as always - for the high quality diversion. | Ariel, I love this!!!! I love the details, and suspense, but most of all...it's Frodo's who's giving the care now, and that's a very welcome change that I truly appreciate. And when he sang to Merry! *swoons* Thanks for this, Ariel! :) BTW. The illo rocks. Nice... Merry and Frodo trapped, and waiting on rescue. Merry is hurt as is frodo. Frod trys to keep Merry warm as he is hurt worse...Please continue, this is great... Author Reply: Your wish is my command! | |

| I must have missed this story on the Challenge page. It takes me quite a while to get through them and I must have thought I read this one when I didn't! Anyway, I'm enjoying it now! Some good h/c is sometimes very nice! Merry and Frodo and certainly in a bit of trouble! I hope that the guard hurries! It's a good thing the guards and Sam weren't trapped as well, that certainly would have been a task! Looking forward to the rest, I will probably continue reading it here as I don't think I will be able to go back as I'm trying to slowly, but steadily make it through the Challenge 13 stories! | Well Ariel, this wasn’t the next story of yours I was planning to read, but there it was on the SoA home page, so… Sometimes proximity trumps priority, I guess! It’s nice to see Frodo on the comfort end for a change… My favorite line: “Frodo had always been the strong one, never sick, always confident, responsible and competent.” YES—Strong Frodo lives! Claustrophobia, eek—one of my own worst nightmares! Good thing it was a Man-sized fireplace, or two hobbits could never have fit! Author Reply: Oh, you know me and strong Frodo! Angst is much better when the subject is hale and whole - even if the opportunites for it are fewer. Oh, I know what you mean about claustrophobia - eek! And since Merry's gotten to be such a big hobbit, he almost doesn't! Will post the next chapter tonight (I hope). | |
