However do you keep turning out these wonderful stories? I loved the twist at the end - Perfect! Author Reply: Thank you! I always like a bit of a surprise when I'm reading and I do try to toss one or two in now and then. Glad you enjoyed it!

Funny! I thought that you were going to do something with that mysterious key, though. It would make a good idea for a future story:) Author Reply: Well, I thank you for that plot bunny. I just might have to do something with the key. Thank you for reveiwing!

LOL, excellent story, Marigold chose well. <>< Saved from sin through Christ, MJ Author Reply: Thank you! It was very sweet of her to recommend this one and I appreciate the fact that you left a review. I thank you both!

LOL! One shouldn`t judge Fredegar too early, lol. He is smarter than he looks and Merry ought to know that. :D Author Reply: It has been suggested to me by Dreamflower that Merry and Pippin owe Fredegar a prank for his part in this one. I might just have to take her suggestion. Glad you enjoyed this.

LOL...that was great, too! Looks like Pippin got the upper hand on this wager! Most excellent Sunday, I should say! I think I'm ready for work tomorrow (cough, cough, choke, gasp). I think I shall need another story, but I'll shut up now so that you can write it. Have a lovely week! Pippinfan Author Reply: Me? Write another one of these? I don't know about that. LOL Thanks for reading and I hope work goes well. I am not looking forward to going to my job tomorrow, but then, I never do look forward to it. I have a couple more of these to post here, but one of them is the one from the Challenge about the rabbit. The other is posted to my LJ, so it might be new to you. have a great week and thank you for all of the reviews!

*snort giggle* GW I read this on your LJ, but I wanted to review it here. LoL about what Merry said about wanting to time Pippin so they could know how long it takes him so they could bet people and CHEAT! So very Merry! And of course, cheers to Pip for pulling the wool over Merry's eyes there. I'm sure that Merry was quite surprised -- the tables have turned! At least until the next rainy day...lol or dinner or something as I am sure Merry is already calculating a delicious comeback for his smart-aleck little cousin. But really, can Merry blame him? He did learn to be the trickster from the very best, after all ;) LoL another great story! :) Author Reply: Yes, Pippin had an excellent teacher. Even if Merry did get fooled this time, he can still take a bit of credit for the entire plot. Thanks so much for reading this and I am glad that you enjoyed it. I never know when another of these little stories will crop up. Who knows? Maybe next time, Merry will get his revenge.

This is wonderful! Very funny, and so perfectly in character, from Merry knowing the content of Pippin's pockets, to Merry timing him to earn some coin, to Pippin having the bet with Freddy! Well done! Author Reply: Why, thank you. I am always amazed by the things that kids cart around in their pockets. I was sure that Merry had seen Pippin unload all of his treasures a time or two before this. They do know each other so very well. Thanks for the review and I am glad that you enjoyed it.

Frodo grinned. "Your money is probably safe. Merry looked pretty angry." He'll forgive him, he always does ;-) That was really a nice twist! Familiar with various situations, where Merry always has to rescue his little cousin, you really took me by surprise. Merry should be more careful now: Pippin is growing and after all he has had the most skilful teacher in "mischief-making" - himself! Thanks for the story! Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed the twist. I figure that Pippin can be the victim all of the time. If Pip had no skill for mischief after all that time with Merry, then I suspect that Merry would have become a bit bored with his little cousin. I like a surprise or two and Pippin is always something of a surprise. Thanks for reading and reviewing this.

I loved this for the simple fact that Pippin finally got his own back because his older cousins almost always got the best of him. It was funny and you're right, when you are cooped up and bored, you do tend to think up crazy stuff. Author Reply: Rain makes folks inventive doesn't it. I think that having spent so much time around the older lads, Pippin was bound to have picked up a trick or two along the way. He snuck up on Merry with this one.

Oh, but this is wonderful! Love it! Pippin the gambler. Author Reply: Nice work if you can beat the odds. I did think that Freddy did a nice job as the shill on this one. Poor Merry.
