I'm sorry I'm delinquent in my two cents here, but I LOVE how you're doing Merry's dreams! Kind of eerie for this time of year, don't you think? ;-) Pippin is the typical teen: "Why can’t I be quiet and still without folks thinking something is wrong with me?" Oy, I remember those years! Oh, and the Gaffer! LOL, he and his Sam are like two peas in a pod! Natually, though. :-) On to the new chapter... Pippinfan Author Reply: Hey, I missed this one when I was writing responses a minute ago. So glad that you liked the dream business. It does fit in with the season. I hadn't thought about that. Pippin is going through that teen phase in a big way in this story. Luckily everyone is being patient with him. And I am totally enjoying writing about the Gaffer. Thanks for the reviews. I always look forward to hearing from you.

Oooh, lovely walking-trip-stalling-time moment between the cousins. It is so obvious that Pippin is stalling but why? Merry's dreams are a bit disturbing though, but they always mean that Pip isn't in his bed and he has discovered that now thankfully. Eagerly awaiting more. :D Author Reply: More before too long, hope to post today sometime. Glad you are enjoying it. Merry is having his share of strange dreams in this, isn't he? Thanks for the review!

LOL, the Gaffer's always got good and sensible advice! "What was that about spoons?" hehe. I love his pride in Sam also and that Frodo had offered him the job properly. Another dream and more of the Pippin-sleeping mystery. You love tormenting this with us, don't you? Though, I guess I can't really complain, now can I, lol. Author Reply: You've found me out. I am in to torture. (and no, you really can't complain. I nearly died of the suspense when I was reading "A Tale that Grew in the Telling".) I do think that the Gaffer would have been very proud of Sam and Frodo might have done well to take his advice. LOL

RAWR! So suspenseful...I must know! The scene between Frodo and Gaffer was done quite well, I think. Very nice dialogue. Author Reply: Thank you. Such a nice thing to say! I am having fun writing the Gaffer. I may just have to start putting him in all of the stories!

Oooh, this is making me crazy. Everytime there's a new part of this story, I read it with an eye on the side guide of my screen, checking to see how much more there is to go. There's never enough there, as I'm enjoying it so thoroughly. I look forward to each installment, very much. Thanks for an enchanting read! Jeodo Author Reply: You are being way too nice, but don't stop. LOL Thank you and I am glad that you like it. I shall try to make the next chapter longer. Thanks so much for reviewing!

And I still have no idea, what's really going on... Merry's inventiveness is really admirable. But this time, it didn't bring him closer to a solution. "What was that about spoons?" Merry asked yawning. "Never you mind," Frodo said. Hehe, that was great! I learned a new word from you: spooning. And with this story in my mid, I think I won't forget it so easily. Thank you, G.W. ! Author Reply: Hey, I taught somebody something! Maybe now I can consider this to be an educational story? So glad that you are still enjoying this one. Merry is very clever but he still isn't any closer to an answer than Frodo is. More soon!

I'm going to have to go back to the beginning and read it again looking for room clues. Because if Pippin isn't even willing to swop rooms and let Merry sleep there . . . I loved his side-tracking - the reading, the soldiers, the snack, the walk. But in the end he had to go into the room - only to emerge later and sleep on the sofa. Very very tantalising. Looking forward to more! Author Reply: Tantalising! I love that word. Thank you. Glad you liked Pippin's efforts to keep from going to bed. There will be more posted soon and thank you for reviewing!

I can't imagine what's troubling Pippin! Author Reply: You'll have some answers before too much longer.

Heehee. I loved the Gaffer's conversation with Frodo and then Merry waking up and asking about spoons :D But you're still torturing me. Merry's had that dream for a few times now and it creeps me out every time. What is the connection between that and Pippin not wanting to sleep in his bed (or in Merry's. I was surprised that he didn't jump at the chance to switch rooms). I can't wait to find out! When's the next chapter being posted? :) Author Reply: The next chapter should be up sometime tomorrow night if all goes well. I am having a wonderful time with the Gaffer. I'm glad you liked his part in this chapter. I'm getting very attached to him. The sleeping problem will soon have an answer. Pippin and I can't keep this up for too much longer. LOL Thanks for reading!

I love Pippin's hundred and one excuses to not go to bed. That poor lad, something is really bothering him. Either that or he's just having fun playing mind games on Merry and Frodo, lol. That recurring dream of Merry's is becoming a bit disturbing. I think it's interesting that he started having those dreams before anyone realized Pippin wasn't sleeping in his room. I'll be keeping my eyes open for more this weekend. :) Author Reply: That would be an interesting little trick for Pippin to play, wouldn't it? I suspect that if he did do that, Frodo and Merry would hang him. LOL There will be more this weekend and thanks for reading!
