Awwww; that's a beautiful word-picture. The bond of shared hardships/quests/experience can be very powerful, especially when refreshed by long friendship; and that's so evident in this dribble... Author Reply: Thank you very much! It really was quite a strong picture in my head at the time! I think those remaining five would cherish their friendships all the more for missing the other four.

Beautiful and elegantly written. I think that one of the reasona Merry and Pippin travelled so much, and eventually went to Minas Tirith to live out the rest of their days, is because they could not really be understood as well in the Shire; they played a part in such a huge, desperate story that was so much bigger than the comfortable but narrow bounds of the Shire; and they needed the comfort and shared experience of not only the other surviving Fellowship members, but people like Eowyn, Eomer, Beregond, Bergil, Faramir and others. Author Reply: I agree. Once the ties of marriage were broken by death, and their children were of age, I think they would have turned their thoughts once more to those who remained of their "other family". And thank you. I think dribbles are a rather elegant form of poetry.

Well done! You draw a clearly-rendered picture in just a few words, especially considering the restraints you are labouring under. Author Reply: Thank you! I have been wanting to try my hand at a dribble, ever since Shirebound first posted one in her LJ. It is somewhat harder than a drabble.

ahhh sweet! Very nice, evocative dribble-poem. Author Reply: Thank you. This is my first attempt at the form. I don't think it will be my last.

Oh, I like this! These five in front of the fire, remembering when they did great deeds that changed the world around them. But really talking just about them now, as friends. Author Reply: Thank you. I am quite sure the Three Hunters spent as much time as possible with Merry and Pippin when they retired to Minas Tirith.
