I love these two carols! Lindelea's a talented composer and musician, too! Well done to both of you.

Author Reply: Thanks! Lin was such a sweetie to offer to compose the tunes; and it was so nice of Dana to host them!

Bravo to all of you! I love the songs and Lindelea has out-done herself yet again! She seems to be making my holiday very merry this year. Thank you for posting these. You really should find a way to cut a CD of Hobbit tunes. You have such a way with lyrics.

Enjoyed both the music and the lyrics. This were lovely! Both you and Lindelea have done a wonderful job on these Carols. When's the CD coming out?

Author Reply: Thank you very much! *grin*

But I don't think we have enough material yet for a CD, LOL!

Ah, how wonderful to see original songs for Yule. Love them.

Author Reply: Thank you! I thought that hobbits needed some traditional seasonal songs!

Oh, what beautiful carols! They both sound so hobbity, especially the second. Leave it to the Shirefolk to think of the "good beer!" :-) The first was cheerful and yet moving. And the tune for the second was wonderful too! Lindelia is amazing, isn't she? I was looking for something to do with Yule, so I'm very glad you posted these! God bless...and season's greetings,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Thank you! I wanted them to sound "hobbity" and not like imitation Christmas carols, yet at the same time, I wanted them to have that "Christmas-y" "feel" to them.

Lindelea has done a remarkable job! She truly is amazing!

Oh, these are just WONDERFUL!! I think I've told you before how much I admire your talent for songwriting, and now I'm even more impressed!! These are so perfectly hobbity, and so full of Yule spirit. Reading them conjures up all sorts of hobbity scenes in my mind and I'll definitely be adding this to my favourites :D

Thank you!

Author Reply: Thank you very much! I don't know how impressive they are, but I *am* glad that they come across as "hobbity", for that is the most important thing!

In addition to your lovely gift of writing spellbinding tales is that you're a wonderfully talented poet, too! I loved these! The second tune, O Come, O come Emmanuel is one of my favorites--I can clearly see families of hobbits gathered round the hearth burning the Yule log while singing these delightful songs. Most excellent! :-)

Author Reply: I'm so glad you liked them! I thought that hobbits would be likely to have a good many traditional songs for Yule. Look for both of these in my Challenge 24 story when it comes up!

Well, got a tune for the second, at least. Don't know yet about the first.

It is a three-part round, as you imagined, but the voices are offset by one line rather than two.

Will send you a raw midi file ("piano") and if you like it, I'll instrumentalize it and you can post it on the web and link to it, if you like.

And a Merry Christmas to you!
