And after Galadriel goes West and infects Valinor, there may very well be another War of Wrath, LOL! Galadriel wouldn't dare!! =)

Oh, goodness LOL! I'm tempted to ask some of my elvish-speaking friends to translate this for me just to see how they react! Author Reply: Did you check out my Author's Notes? They are not actually mine, but the notes that Ithilden kindly sent me along with the translation and gave me permission to post! I thought her work deserved some recognition.

I'm a heartless beast!! I thought sure I had left a response for this one!!! Of all the songs . . . I love the image in my mind of Galadriel singing it :D :D :D ROFL MEWD!!!! Author Reply: *snerk* Yes, the hobbit equivalent of "99 Bottles of Beer" (although hobbits would probably like that, too, LOL!) and then translated... I could just see Galadriel, after that heartbreaking farewell song, humming along on the way back to Caras Galadon, and then suddenly realizing *what* she was singing! *evil grin*

"Ninety-nine Bottles of Beer"--Hobbit-style, and then translated to Sindarin and infecting Elvendom! Oh, how hilarious! Hilarious! Author Reply: Yes, the earworm that invaded Arda. I had thought up the song some time back for a young hobbits fic, and it seemed to me that Pippin and Legolas might just be mischievous enough to do that to everyone!

And they call that a song!! A very irritating virus is more like it!! ;o) This was priceless!! The Lady Galadriel, one of the most powerful of the Eldar still in Arda...Singing 99 Apple Pies!!! Oh...There's an image that's going to linger...ROTFLOL!! Thank you so much for a very badly needed laugh tonight!! (((HUGS))) Author Reply: Well, that's the way of "earworms", isn't it? They do tend to spread like viruses, but to stick a *lot* longer, LOL! I think getting a song stuck in your head is something that could happen to *anyone*--which is the point I was trying to make! Besides that, it just tickled me. But if it lingers *too* long, I wouldn't want to be Legolas! And I am so glad if it gave you a laugh!!

Just to keep all of my reviews over here: This is priceless! Oh my, but this was hysterical! When I first realised what song you were having translated into Sindarin, I wondered what you were going to do with it. But *this* -- what Pippin started! And Legolas is just as bad! I love the image of Legolas and Pippin giggling together as they conspire to infect the entire Fellowship with this insipid song. And Frodo's, Merry's, and Sam's reactions are so funny! Especially Sam hurrying to get lunch ready in an attempt to stop the song from going any further. Now we know why Frodo left the rest of the Fellowship behind and decided to continue the Quest with just Sam. I gather Boromir couldn't take any more of the song either and decided it was better to die in battle than have to listen to one more chorus of it. *shakes head* Oh, goodness, but this made me laugh! Author Reply: And your review is making me chortle again! *snicker* Well, of course, Frodo, Merry and Sam know exactly what "that song" can be like--bad enough in Westron, and very strange in Sindarin, LOL! And after Galadriel goes West and infects Valinor, there may very well be another War of Wrath, LOL!

Yep, I was curious…what a wacky idea! Have you ever read “The Bagenders”? This reminded me of a scene from “A Shortcut to Whitby,” in which the Fellowship goes on a long, maddening car trip…this song would have fit right in! Thanks for the chuckle… Author Reply: No, never read "The Bagenders" though I've heard a lot about it. Maybe one day I'll check it out. But it *is* the sort of thing done on a long car trip.

This was absolutely hilarious! Just what I needed - I can just see Pippin teaching Legolas this very hobbity song. The fact that even Galadriel found herself singing it was priceless! Wise Celeborn indeed, not to laugh! Thank you so much for this. Author Reply: Yes, and once Legolas heard it, he quickly saw the potential there for And we see, of course, how Celeborn *earned* the epithet "Wise"! 8-D Author Reply: *facepalm* I was *sure* I coded "remove strike". *sheesh* Sorry! That was so funny! As soon as I read the number of pies I couldn't stop laughing. actually, I think the song may be stuck in my head now! Author Reply: Oh dear! (Well--it's been stuck in *my* head for a while, I'm just sharing the experience--*grin*)

*giggles* That was fun! What a lovely image, Legolas and the Lórien elves, even Galadriel, singing hobbit nonsense songs in Sindarin! Frodo and the others may not appreciate it properly, but I do! The situation over there was getting dire. Now, that sounds as if Orcs were coming and not only Legolas and Pippin singing! *lol* Author Reply: *snerk* Now you've got me imagining Pippin tormenting the Orcs with it as they are carrying him away...
