Funny, I missed this when it was posted. That's what happens when you click on story alerts and they take you right to the chapter, and you don't notice chapter numbers. I just loved this part: “Strider," Pippin murmured drowsily, "did you know that Faramir and the Lady Éowyn are in love? Merry told me. He says they don’t know it yet, but... they are.” “Who are in love?” Aragorn asked in surprise. “Pippin, what did you say?” There was no answer. The young hobbit had fallen sound asleep. Author Reply: Poor Aragorn, at the mercy of a sleepy tween and his half-finished stories! :D

Now IIII want to hear the story of Gerontius and his magic shirt studs! It would be hilarious, I think. And trust Pippin to spill the beans on Faramir and Eowyn. Dear young hobbit that he is! Author Reply: I think Pippin was saving that particular story for a special occasion. Surely, on the long walk south (and the long boatride south) everyone must have nearly exhausted every story they knew!

What a sweet image of Aragorn curled beside the Hobbits.I loved how Pippin pleaded with him to stay Author Reply: Ah, that Pippin... he can charm even kings and wizards. :D

Sweet! Love Frodo's reaction to the rain and seeking Sam's hand and Sam holding his and love Pippin too. Keep that TLC coming! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: I promise to always shower hobbits all the TLC they so richly deserve!

Once again, I am in utter awe. Shirebound, where does it come from? This is just WONDERFUL! :) I love the relationships these characters have, and how well you expound on them. They are REAL and just absolutely wonderful. I'm just starting LOTR for the 3rd reading (Frodo, Sam and Pip are on their way to Crickhollow after Frodo's 50th birthday), and I can't seem to remember Pip getting squashed by a troll at the Black Gate. I think I need to re-read that, since this is not the first time I've come across a story that at least refers to it! LOL I can't wait for more... if I can find more time to read, that is! :) Thank you for keeping these wonderful characters alive and well for us. Keep it coming! :D Author Reply: Oh my, thank you so much! I think all this comes from a need to see hobbits safe, honored, loved, and comfortable. :D (Yes, Pippin gets rather "squashed" doing something extremely heroic, and is made a Knight of the City prior to the Ring-bearers' awakening. ROTK is full of wonderful things.)

Awww...What a sweet chapter. Pippin wanting Aragorn near, just for comfort. And Pippin's the one to tell Aragorn about Faramir and Eowyn. Loved that "What!?!" from Aragorn. I can imagine that would have been quite the surprising comment for him to hear. :oD Looking forward to the next chapter!! Author Reply: Thanks, Tigger. It must be very entertaining to the wounded soldiers -- and everyone else -- to have such an irrepressible tween amongst them. :D

Pip is such a rascal! It is so sweet that he wants Strider to be near them. *sigh* A wonderful story :) Author Reply: That unquenchable Tookling! :D I'm so happy you're enjoying this, Pearl.

Ooooh! This was all so wonderful I'd have to quote all of it! The image of Aragorn and the hobbits all tucked up safe and cosy has turned me into a little puddle. I really hope our beloved Ranger-King wakes up in the middle of a hobbit-pile. :-)) Trust Pippin to deliver an interesting snippet of news and then fall asleep! Aragorn will be consumed with curiosity until he's heard about Faramir and Eowyn. Lovely, lovely story! Author Reply: Puddles are my favorite things (next to hobbits)! What a compliment. I have to scoop you up and hug you. Yes, Poor Aragorn. Tweens do tend to flit from one subject to the next, and then... zzzzzzzzz!

Oh, such a sweet, warm, cosy chapter! Just what I needed after a long, exhausting day and lots of rain. Guess what my favourite part was? :) At that moment it began to rain again, the gentle thud of each drop slightly muffled by the wooden roof. “Mmm,” Frodo murmured. He smiled and turned over, his hand seeking out Sam’s. “Rain, Sam…” “They draw comfort from one another even in sleep,” Gandalf observed, as Sam’s fingers curled gently around Frodo’s. “And they are healing very quickly,” Aragorn agreed quietly. “It is quite remarkable. Perhaps they will not need another full week, at that; a few more days and...” “That’s good,” Pippin yawned again. “You said I could get up when they do.” “Rascal.” Gandalf chuckled quietly and walked off. Yes, they are indeed healing quickly, and I'm so glad Frodo can draw such comfort from the sound of the rain and from his Sam...and vice versa, I'm sure. Oh, Pippin, some things never change! LOL! Now I'm going to have to write something about rain and Hobbity love. :) God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: "Now I'm going to have to write something about rain and Hobbity love. :)" Eeeee, I hope you do! It's so lovely to be all safe and warm and dry when rain is pattering on the roof. :D I'm so glad you enjoyed this section. It was comforting to write.
