This chapter was a lot of fun...I liked how he got a black eye ;). Also good to see how he and his friends are adjusting to his new status. Can't wait for more!

Author Reply: Friends are very important -he needs some relaxation, even if it means a black eye. LBJ

Well, I get the feeling that Lothiriel and Imrahil have not weakened to the demands of Lebennin. But Eomer will have to say something soon! Before he heads off back to Rohan, preferably.

Hopefully, a nice energising tavern brawl will have cheered him up and given him a boost - and Eothain's insights into the working of Gondorian society might be encouragement enough for him actually to speak to the object of his dreams! Or her father. Whichever comes first.

Perhaps Faramir came along a couple of minutes too early there. Unlike him - tact is his middle name.

Fingers crossed the complications don't get too insuperable. Or Eomer will just have to abduct Lothiriel. I'm sure she could advise him on the best way to do it.

Author Reply: Your right - he has do do something - he's going home soon.Perhaps his luck will change and he will get a helping hand!LBJ

Ha, this was an excellent chapter! Eothain and Aelfhere certainly keep Eomer's feet on the ground--when they're not getting him involved in a tavern brawl!

The dialogue between the three outside the tavern was priceless.Eomer can't get Lothiriel out of his mind and it seems that his two friends not only watch him like a pair of predatory hawks but they have their own strong opinions about Lothiriel. No wonder Eomer loves their company for only true friends can speak so freely with him. They are priceless in their own way.

I loved how you set up this chapter because it was slightly confusing at first.Eomer didn't want to face Lothiriel, for a number of reasons, but it turned out that he was only trying to hide his bruise, the 'war wound' he received from Aelfhere's crutch. That Lothiriel touched his face and consented to get salve for the bruise would have delighted Eothain and Aelfhere, that's for sure! They're convinced that Lothiriel is interested in Eomer so now it's up to Eomer to make his intentions known.Faramir just *had* to appear then and cut off Lothiriel's answer to his question---did she brush off Beren?

Very enjoyable chapter,LBJ.I can't wait for more.

Ali.

Author Reply: The black eye certainly helped. Yes, if they had known she would minister to him - they might have blacked the other also.LBJ

Yes, a good time was had by all, and Eomer was felled by "friendly fire." Hilarious!

Now, you dolt--ASK her already!

Enjoying this thoroughly.

Author Reply: Rest assured - he will get round to it!LBJ
