Frodo’s right hand strayed to his sore chest, which he suddenly realized was bare. He looked down with an effort, relieved that he still had his breeches on. Mistress Brownlock was a healer, and family; but still... *giggles* I love this tale. It is - in a way - so comforting and bright, the way you paint the Shire here, and our beloved characters. And now - how is Aragorn? Author Reply: Thanks, I liked that part, too! Tweens (especially male tweens) can be very self-conscious, even in dire circumstances.

Oh, poor Frodo, stitches with no local! That's bound to have hurt. Wondering how Aragon's doing at this point... Author Reply: I just had to keep Frodo unconscious through the worst of the suturing! And now we just need to get down the hall to Aragorn's room... :D

Poor Frodo,he sounds to be in a lot of pain, but it is so swet he worries about Aragorn too,as do I. Scamp is such a good dog ! Author Reply: Frodo deserves a wonderful dog like Scamp, doesn't he? They're really devoted to one another.

Eeeeeeeee, Frodo waking to having his arm stitched!!!! I like it, like it a LOT. And he's the cutest thing---so anxious to see Estel that he's wanting to jump out of bed already. Not to mention checking to see that he's got his breeches on. :) I love little details like that. What lovely, lovely TLC. Knowing Frodo, he's going to soon be a devil to take care of... though he does have Scamp, and that's good therapy. And of course, I'm joining the other readers in worriting about Aragorn, you know... though I do NOT hope he responds quickly and positively to treatment. ;D Let him suffer a bit and feel wretched for a while, is my motto... awful, ain't I? Nevertheless, true, TRUE Aragorn comfort (meaning: TLC after an injury, as opposed to mindless torture and little TLC after) is a rare thing in fanfic land. Very rare... and to know you, a Queen of doling the comfort out, have Aragorn injured and woozy in the room just down the hall is a heady thing to ponder. :) Cannot WAIT for the next chapter!!!!!!!!! Author Reply: You sweetie! I love your enthusiasm. "Let him suffer a bit and feel wretched for a while, is my motto" -- LOL! Woozy, confused, sick... And *then* can we comfort him a lot? Oh, good. *whew* *hugs*

I have a feeling Halbarad might need more than just a little convincing to leave Bag End for the meeting. Glad to see Frodo get tended to and comforted. Now...How about Aragorn? Hmmm? Why do I have this really bad feeling he's worse off than Frodo. Even though it seems Frodo got the worst of things physically? Hmmm? Hurry up Shirebound...It really wasn't nice of you to keep the Aragorn h/c for the next chapter you know? Especially after that "Captain..." comment he made to Halbarad when Aragorn woke for that instant. Not nice at *all*!! ;o) So, type my friend. Type, type, type!!! :oD Really enjoying the story. So far that is. :o) Author Reply: Sorry about that! I tend to only concentrate on one small portion of a story at a time, and last time was the "Frodo portion". Now it's time to get to the "Ranger portion"! *type type type*

Oh, the Frodo comfort has started. *sigh of relief* Frodo is so dear, immediately worrying about everyone else. I do love this part so much: “My goodness, Frodo lad,” Bilbo chuckled, “the mischief you and Estel get into every time he visits! Most unnatural for a hobbit, you know.” Bilbo kept talking, and watched with relief as Frodo slowly relaxed. The affectionate teasing that Frodo so loved was the best medicine Bilbo could think to offer. “There must be more Took blood in you than we thought. And what will young Samwise think, witnessing all these adventures and misdeeds?” “You’re the adventurous one, Bilbo.” “Nonsense. What an idea! Why if you ask me, it was all Gandalf’s fault in the first place. When he...” Bilbo's teasing is the best medicine for Frodo. Now I'm anxious to find out what has happened to Estel! Author Reply: I love it when Frodo and bilbo tease one another -- with love. I've been trying to weave that theme throughout this "Q" series of stories. :D

Frodo was distracted for a moment. “Sam, don’t forget that Scamp needs to eat more. She should go outside for a bit later, and... we have to...” He's quickly recovering, it seems! And such a brave lad! If I woke up to find a healer sewing a wound on my arm, ... oh my, I better stop thinking about it ;-) To put scamp near to Frodo was a splendid idea. It's not only helping Frodo, but apparently also the little dog. And now to the brave ranger! I like the adjective Baggins Babe used in her review, "confoozled". It's very fitting. But I wonder, if it is a real word or a word creation. Do you know? Author Reply: I do love writing about Scamp's place in the Baggins household. She's a valuable and much-loved member of the family. I don't know if 'confoozled' is a real word or not, but I like it! :D

Awww! Frodo's recovering it seems - and Scamp is there to watch her master. She and Sam are two of a kind. Now we need to go down the passage and into Aragorn's room. Hope he's alright and only temporarily confoozled. Lovely to see an update - can't wait for more. Author Reply: Scamp trusts Sam as fully as does Frodo. Dear Sam. :D Indeed, it's time to turn our attention to the poor confoozled Ranger!

Rest indeed is what Frodo needs. And he's responding fairly quickly and positively to the treatment he's being given. As long as Aragorn follows suit.... Author Reply: Yes, it's time we saw how Aragorn is doing, isn't it? *type type type*
