I liked the unexpected twist in this one. Author Reply: This was fun to write. I'm not very good at 'misdirection'.

oooh! I love it! I haven't found many fics that have Faramir on the quest instead of Boromir and this was lovely. I liked it that you kept the identity of the rear guard a secret at first. IT made it all the more telling when Frodo said his name. Now my imagination is bubbling over with ideas for a AU Faramir on the Quest fic... See what reading such excellent writing can do to one? Hugs, Dancingkatz Author Reply: Awww, thank. And I hope those ideas bubble into stories! Glad you enjoyed this. :D

Oh--how wonderful! A so wonderful AU in which Faramir remains true to his nature, and Frodo finds himself comforted and guarded by two of the most faithful of all of the Dunedain left in Middle Earth. Thank you, Shirebound! Author Reply: Oh my, thank you so much! We're so lucky to be able to play in this world, and it's especially wonderful to ensure that Frodo gets all the protection, love, and healing he deserves.

Ooo! Another one I haven't read! And what an intriguing AU and a sweet scene to show us from it. I love it! God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: That *is* an intriguing AU, isn't it? I love how infinitely we can explore and play in the Professor's marvelous tale. *hugs*

Interesting story - like this alot - I explored the same idea of Faramir going to the fire with the hobbits in my own huge epic so much welcome the idea here. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane Author Reply: I do love the infinite ways we can tweak the Tale and wonder "what if..."

Oo, lovely AU! I had no idea what to expect, right to the end. Author Reply: Yay! I'm not usually very adept at "misdirection". :D

I very interesting AU of one of my favourites scenes, which I recently explored from BOromir's POV. I love the way the men are so caring with the Hobbits here. Author Reply: HOW I wish this scene had been in the movie! Leaving Moria was such a traumatic, wearying event, with everyone so grieved and in need of a moment together.

Ah... Faramir... I love him. One of the Professor's most noble characters, gentle, loving, quietly going about doing his duty without much hope of love, respect or honor from the one he should most expect to receive it from. What *would* the story have been like had it been Faramir at that council. Boromir alive, Denethor alive to challenge Aragorn's claim to the throne, probably no Gollum guiding Frodo and Sam to the Cracks of Doom, and the ultimate question - how *would* th Ring have been thrown in? Guess all was as it had to be, but still... how I LOVE Faramir! Author Reply: I adore Faramir, and am so pleased that he was one of the characters who found love and happiness after the War.

Faramir!!! What a pleasant surprise!! >>"He should not have left you alone," the man insisted, his suspicions about this Ranger of the North not entirely at rest. "He did not," Frodo said, turning to him. The hobbit's remarkable eyes shone suddenly. "He left us with you.” He suddenly grimaced in pain, his breath growing short.<< Any chance of continuing this with another short that focuses on Frodo and Sam's healing (with Faramir, of course)? P.S. I've noticed when you quote your favorite lines of a story, etc you post them in the review in italics. How do you do that in a review? Is it the same as when posting a story? Author Reply: I'll put the "Faramir" idea into the story idea folder! You never know... When I write a story, it's as a word doc -- with all the bold, italic, etc. formatting visible (not coded). In other words, on the screen, you see bold words, italic words, etc., not code. Then I "save as" html, remove the extra paragraphing, and post it. I preview preview preview chapters at SOA before they go public, so they look exactly right. I code reviews the same way we have to code things on Livejournal -- with html coding. Anything in italics, for example, is bracketed by <*i*> and <*/i*> (without the asterisks) to make italic, etc.
