This almost sounds as if it belongs in that collection. Poor Legolas, and the twins' continuing being the butt of a Dwarvish joke so many yeni after its inception! Nice moment here. Felt I was caught in a meshing of the Undying Lands and A Midsummer's Night Dream.

Author Reply: LOLOL! Felt I was caught in a meshing of the Undying Lands and A Midsummer's Night Dream. I always felt that way when reading the series! :-) that is a great compliment, thank you!

Oh the dialog in this is just wicked! You do such a great job with large casts of characters and their interactions. Of course my favorite was Thranduil sparring with the 'Noldor.' This was hilarious!

Author Reply: LOLOL! I must admit that I had great fun writing this. Picturing all these lords together in a danger-free environment is too much amusement, althugh Thranduil might disagree with me.. ;-)

LOL! That was great fun! So very clever all way around. I loved seeing Erestor again! The idea of that home videos can be the bane of an elf's existence too was hilarious. :D

But, shame on you for not asking permission to pastiche Bodkin's story. *tsk, tsk* Someone is just going to have to teach you a lesson.

Poor Legolas, much to concerned for his dignity - according to E2 anyway. Ha!

Author Reply: Thank-you, Redheredh! Good that it made you laugh!

Vairė's tapestries are one of those things that always made me wonder. And Bodkin's tale at times reminds me of comic strips in newspapers, so the connection was easy..(not the rest!)

I believe Legolas is more worried by what his father-in-law could think that by any other consideration about dignity, given that Taryatur can use anything against him! :-)

Oh, brilliant, Perelleth. I'm so impressed. The ellyth are most definitely in charge of this - must be their natural talents with Female Pursuits. They've definitely got all those gorgeous males under control - whatever they might think. Bemused, too. And confused.

And I love the twins pairing up and feeling that little Legolas isn't quite up to the mark. (I do think he needs a friend who is to him what the twins are to each other ... But I suspect that's impossible!)

The Blessed Realm does give the most unlikely elves the chance to get together - and have a chance to interact. I love the whole feeling of Celeborn and Finrod and Elrond and Glorfindel and Thranduil and Erestor all massing together in the trees like a bunch of rainbow lorikeets and snarking away .. like a bunch of rainbow lorikeets .. as Glorfindel gets clever and douses Finrod with splashes of water - whilst acknowledging that they don't have a hope once the ladies get going. Brilliant - the mighty have fallen.

Of course Elladan, Elrohir and Legolas don't expect to win. They know they're outmatched!

Gorgeous references to all sorts of stories! Excellent use of tapestries - after all, you're right - what history will be left to tell once the elves have left Middle-earth. A shift into the production of family tapestries will be only too sensible.

I loved it, Perelleth. Thank you so much. A delightful story.

Author Reply: I'm so relieved that you liked it, Bodkin! You see every paragraph was literally sweat out. For some reason the tale wouldn't come out, and after much redoing and twisting and turning I still wasn't at all sure of it!

It was great fun to pile all these guys on a tree top and watch them pick at each other, though, fussing so seriously about a matter of such little importance. That's how I contemplate retirement!

The tapestry thing came long time ago, when I first discovered "reflections" I think, because those made me think of the comic strips on the newspapers, and thought that surely the adventures of these three surely made for an entertainig gossip for the rest of residents... poor ones. I seriously hope that Vairė has been having fun at their backs and will never surrender the secrecy of her tapestries!

Thank-you Bodkin, and happy delayed birthday!

Oh dear. I don't think I'd like the idea of someone able to produce pictures of my actions and give them to my relatives. No wonder everyone is a little on edge. Except the wives, of course. They seem to believe they have it all under control.

Lovely story, Perelleth.

Author Reply: It is to hope that the whole experiment is cancelled, and Vairė just keeps the tapestries for herself and her fellow Valar...Yet I always liked the idea of the wife of Mandos weaving the fates and deeds of the Eldar. Those weavings must have been impressive!

Snerk. Snerk, snerk, snerk. Don't the Elves know that the chances of a successful mission decrease exponentially the more alpha males get involved in the task? Clearly not. Hence all the problems of the First Age. While they sit and argue, the ladies nip in and accomplish the task swiftly and efficiently.

I love the way they coo over the opportunity to get pictures of their families' doings. Now, it might have been an illusion, but dang, I could have sworn I saw Mom Pony giggling along with them. That's just her meat.

Author Reply: LOLOL! Apparently these guys need to make up a whole strategy for the most minor task, and disaster ensues naturally! Too much preparations and too many chances for failure! Poor guys. Vairė's tapestries always kept me wondering, they surely were wondorus to see, but hey, the poor people there, I wouldn't be comfortable!
