Author Reply: Oh yes! I recently read a story written by Ecthelion, The breach in the walls, with explores this same bitterness, only here it is truly too late and beyond redemption. Besides Túrin, I think Maeglin is one of these characters who had a lot of options in his life and could have gone many directions (not oath bound as the Fëanorians), but instead...
