Awww! I can't remember if I read this or not, but it's so sweet! I especially love the final verse...it just is the very essence of coziness! Author Reply: It appeared in "Road to Edoras", hence the subtitle! I am glad you think it cozy!

You are so very musical and this is a very hobbity song! Author Reply: *grin* Thanks! I'm glad you think it hobbity--that's a huge compliment!

Very nice, Dreamflower! I think I've heard a song like that before, a folk song. But if it was English or German or French ... I can't remember. This is definitely a song of Buckland, like Larner pointed out. And if you replaced the violets with primulas, it could have also been the favourite song of Drogo Baggins :) Author Reply: Thank you. It wouldn't surprise me; it's not consciously modeled after any particular folk-song, but I did try and follow the general pattern of many of them. It might could have, at that, LOL!

Like this a lot Dreamflower and even better as part of your story. Author Reply: Thanks! I thought I'd post it on its own, as well!

How sweet! And so hobbity! I could picture Berilac and Violet during that song - even though they didn't meet that way, it's still perfect for them. :) Author Reply: Well, I think Berilac has Viola in mind when he sings it!

Ah, how beautiful! I can just see a Hobbit singing this, rowing down the river. Most of all I love that it's so happy. I practically collect folk songs, mostly from Scotland, England, and Ireland, and always the love songs start out happy and end sad. Why can't we be more like Hobbits? :) God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: Why can't we be more like Hobbits? :) Excellent question, my dear! I do think the world would be a better place if we *were* more like Hobbits! (And you are right about the majority of folk-songs--either sad or creepy, for the most part, even when they have a jolly sort of tune!)

Aha! Yes, Beri would love this one, I'm certain! Definitely a song of Buckland. Author Reply: *grin* Thanks! I pulled this from an upcoming chapter of something that is very nearly ready to post--maybe even tonight. And yes, it's most certainly of Buckland!
