Well - thank goodness! Thandir really showed Elladan the advantage that experience offers in desperate situations - and he did a good job in making sure that Elrohir survived until the cavalry arrived. And Celeborn! What power and glory! While I think Erestor should be rewarded for realising that keeping the twins in sight was the only really sensible way of making sure they were all right! After all, it was his rescue squad that was there at the key moment. Really - embarrassing as it is to be rescued, the alternative would have been so much worse! Author Reply: I will be writing a companion piece to this story, a one-chapter "sequel", describing what happened to Erestor after Elrond returned to Imladris. With Celeborn, I wanted to show that he was no less a force to be reckoned with than his beloved Galadriel. I'm glad you liked that scene.

I had a bit of a shock also, I didn't even think of Erestor setting the tail instead of Elrond. You got me there! I enjoyed the whole tunic inclusion also. Author Reply: I was laughing at all the reviews that mentioned what a good idea Elrond had setting the scouts on his sons' trail. All the clues were there but so were the red herrings. I thought the tunics were a nice touch, too.
