I read this at the Challenge site and loved it. I read it here because I didn't remember the title and saw I hadn't left a response -

I'm so glad I re-read it. I'm all teary.

A wonderful, wonderful story!!!!!

Author Reply: Awww, thank you. So glad you enjoyed it again. Thank you!

Awww! Of course Pippin would forgive Merry instantly. He can never stay angry with Merry, which is in a way unfortunate. It allows Merry to forget too easily about being careful with Pippin's feelings. After this though I think Merry will be a little more conscientious, for awhile at least. The baby dragon was very cute. Loved Frodo's gentle explanations to Merry about the trials and joys of having a tag along. ;D

Author Reply: Yes, Merry does get away with quite a lot but on the other hand, he does have a lot to deal with at times. LOL
Glad you enjoyed Merry's fierce Dragon! Frodo had a lot to sort out this time, didn't he? Thanks for reading!

Oh Merry! Just at the age when you're the centre of the universe and everything revolves around you. I loved Frodo gently pointing out that his little cousin was just as much a hanger-on to Frodo and his friends as ever Pippin was to him.

Good cunning plan to get rid of the little pest though - and absolutely typical to find that, having managed to scare Pippin off, Merry didn't actually want to be without his little admirer. He used his brain when it came to seeking reconciliation, though - Merry's not short of brains. Get Pippin at a weak moment, when he's scared and in the dark, and he'll be much more welcoming of his big heroic cousin.

Excellent story - you are so good at these tales of Merry and Pippin, with occasional great inputs from Frodo and Freddy and the rest.

Author Reply: Frodo had to straighten out quite a bit in this one but fortunately he was up to the task. Merry is very clever all around in this one. In fact, he is almost too clever and without Frodo around, Merry might have spoiled his friendship with Pippin.
Thank you for the lovely review and all of your kind words. Have a wonderful holiday!

It may have taken him five years, but now Pippin's right in there playing with the other children. And even then Frodo was worthy of his name. Our beloved Frodo, and his beloved brother-cousins.

Author Reply: I like to think that Frodo was always willing to offer help and advice to his younger cousins. I do see him as looking out for both of them along the way. Glad you agree and thank you for the review!

Oh dear GW, you have made me late for work! This is great! So many lines just got to me! *sniff!*

“You weren’t even invited to come along. I told you not to follow me.”

“I didn’t think you meant that really,” Pippin said, eyes watering as he fought not to cry in front of his beloved older cousin. “I thought you were just teasing like you always do.”

“I meant it,” Merry said. “And I meant all of those other times that you thought I was teasing. I always mean it and you never listen!”

What a fore-shadowing of the Quest!

Author Reply: Late for work! uh-oh! Sorry about that. Thank you for the review and I am very glad that you enjoyed this one. It is a bit more emotional than most of my stories. It stat=rted out to be completely different but this was the end result. I never know where these things are actually going. LOL

Oh, my! The summary said something about exploring more about the Ent-draught, and I thought--oooh! another Ent-draught story! :-D Instead, I saw the most excellent tale that you entered in Marigold's Challenge last weekend! :-D I get misty just thinking about it. I'm sorry I didn't tell you more about how much I loved this story about the friendship between Merry and Pippin--and Frodo, to some extent. So I'll tell you now! :-)

Yeah, when I read the part about the lizard, I thought Merry was being...well, a brat, even though he was a mere child himself. :-P I mean, he was messing with my precious little Pippin! Okay, Merry is my precious, too--I suppose I just got sucked deep into the story! But when Merry started to feel remorseful--and even cried about it, I got teary-eyed myself. This was such a sweet, sweet, endearing story of how two beloved cousins meant to compliment each others lives until the end of their days come together and bond at the heart. Thank you for writing this most wonderful tale. :-)

Author Reply: This one started out to be one of the prnak stories and then went somewhere different and became rather emotional from both cousins. Sometimes what I plan to write gets all mixed up in what I wind up writing. LOL
Thank you for the second review and I am glad that you enjoyed it.
