I can't wait to read more of these; they are simply delightful!

Author Reply: I'm glad you're enjoying these tales. I love writing about the gentle, 'lighter side' of Middle-earth.

Yay Pippin! :-) These were fun!

I never thought about it, but surely w all those hobbits around *somebody* was surely behind him. :-) And of course, why not Pippin...?

Author Reply: What fun to focus just on Pippin (or any of the hobbits). I learn so much about the characters by writing about them.

A very original little story. Yes, I can imagine this episode happening.

Author Reply: Thank you very much!

Author Reply: Good night! Thank you for all the reviews! :D

How delightful! Just exactly as it could have been in the book. The beginning of a relationship between them which must have deepened even more when they left for Gondor alone. A nice look inside Pippin's head.

Author Reply: Thank you! It's such a compliment to think this scene "could have been". The hobbits spent so long in Rivendell, and we know so little about that time. It's such fun to try to fill in some of the blanks.

Some secrets just aren't for sharing! Not surprising at all that Gandalf takes an interest in the young Took. Or that said Took ends up at the far side of the world at his cousin's side.

Author Reply: No, not surprising at all! I like imagining that Gandalf has been keeipng such a close watch on 'his' hobbits, and being constantly surprised and impressed by them.

Pippin keep a secret? "Who are you and what have you done with my Pippin?" :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: *giggles* There's more to this hobbit than meets the eye...

For our talkative little Took to keep this a secret he must have realised that this was very important. I love Pippin/Gandalf conversations - the usually grumpy wizard is a grandfatherly type with our favourite hobbits, and Pip just enjoys asking questions. And here they are united by their love for Frodo.
Beautiful

Author Reply: Even when Gandalf is grumpy with Pippin, we all know he doesn't mean it. Our hobbits and wizard are all very responsible, but they show it in different ways.

united by their love for Frodo... Awwwww. That's so lovely.

I like this! I like that you have Pip knowing about the Ring so early and I like this:

“No, I see that you will not,” Gandalf said thoughtfully. “How interesting. Good night, Peregrin.”

Most mysterious :-)

Author Reply: Thanks, Pearl. I think it gives a plausible (if AU) reason for Gandalf to encourage Elrond to let Pippin and Merry accompany Frodo south. It's fun to imagine little scenes like this.

Aha! So that's how Pippin became aware of the Ring, is it? And love how he and the wizard share confidences now, over Frodo's sickbed. Bless all three of them in the room.

Author Reply: It's fun to find "hidden scenes" like this. And yes, bless 'em all.
