Pippin scowled at Merry. “I am not a pest.” He looked toward Estella and Berilac again. “Estella doesn’t like me.” “She’ll get used to you,” Merry said. “I did.” “I don’t want her to get used to me,” Pippin said still scowling. “I don’t like her.” “I like her so maybe you should try to get used to her,” Merry smiled. ROTFL!!! Great dialogue, G.W.! I enjoyed this story a great deal! And rest assured that if I happen to have a fight, I will know where to place my thumbs ;-) Author Reply: Hey, glad you enjoyed the dialogue. I love to write dialogue so it's nice to hear when it goes over well. And if I educated you on the proper way to make a fist then I feel like my job here is done. LOL Thank you so much for reading!

*snork* And here I am, without time to cut and paste and quote all my fav. bits. To start with: raised your incorrectly fisted hands and stood your ground. But there was so much more! Nicely done, and sparkling dialogue as usual. Author Reply: Thank you! I know how little time you have to read and so it is always lovely to hear from you on one of these. I'm glad you enjoyed the dialogue. Thank you for reviewing!

And so we all learn a little bit about fighting and a lot more about the relationship between these two. Great Stuff GW. * Wanders off, walking extra tall, pondering how to hide the extra inches too* *G* Author Reply: Thank you! I hope I've saved your thumbs. hehehe

Wonderful!!! "...Finally, he lost focus and started staring over my head at, at-“ Pippin broke off and his eyes took on an injured look as the realization of exactly what Sancho had been looking at struck him. He looked up at Merry for a minute and then his eyes dropped. “I guess you were what he was looking at weren’t you?” Pippin said softly. “I was,” Merry said quietly. “You scared him off,” Pippin said disappointedly. “I didn’t do anything except injure my thumb did I?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I could just see and feel the poor lad deflate. I do love your stories!!!!! Author Reply: When I first started to write this I actually had Merry allowing Pippin to believe that he had run Sancho off but then I re-thought that because sooner or later I decided that Sancho would catch Pippin alone. I figured that Merry would realize this too so I let Merry give him the truth. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the lovely review! I do look forward to your reviews.

“So you’ve noticed that I’m taller!” Pippin said smiling in spite of himself. “I may have noticed,” Merry said smiling back. I love how Pippin will jump on the smallest 'positive', and Merry will relent and agree. Awwww. Author Reply: That's Pippin for you. He always finds something positive to hold on to. I think everyone around him is too surprised to correct him. Even Merry. LOL Thanks for reviewing!

How the heck did I miss this excellent tale??! This was funny, sweet, and full of great cousinly banter. I do dearly love how protective your Merry is toward Pippin...and lusts, lol, after Estella! LOL, I sort of see Pippin and Sancho the same as you...you'll see. :-) PF Author Reply: LOL Silly Hobbit Lass! You didn't miss it. This was only posted for the first time today. I wrote this and then never posted it. I forgot about it and then found it this evening and posted it. You are right on time. I look forward to reading your take on Sancho and Pippin. We always seem to have ideas that run in the same sort of patterns. I worry about one of us but I don't know which one. LOL

GW... I loved this. I especially loved these lines: “What would you call standing up to someone that is twice your size?” Merry asked. “Stupid?” All of the rest of the dialogue between Merry and Pippin was great too, and the image of little Pippin dancing around in front of Sancho, and ... oh, just all of it! Thanks for the laughs! Author Reply: Thank you for reviewing and for liking it. I enjoy writing dialogue so I am always pleased when someone likes it. That bit that you quoted is one of my favorite parts. hehehe

Eeeee, this is delightful! I love Merry and Pippin's conversation, I could quote a whole bunch of lines but then I would be quoting the whole thing. :D Author Reply: Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I wrote this, forgot I'd written it, and then came across it today and decided to post it. I was going to write a bit today but when I found this I just posted it and then sat around and read other people's fictions. Thank you for the lovely review!

Pippin reminds me of my poms--they are convinced they are the biggest dogs on the block, and won't back down no matter what, even when they've been run right over. But he's NOT stupid, not our Pip! And he doesn't like to think Merry's growing away from him.... Author Reply: Little dogs are very brave for some reason. I love that about them. They would fight anything for their territory or their people. Pippin isn't stupid but he does act without thinking and I do believe that his taking on the 'bigger dogs' is one example of the way he jumps in without giving a thought to what might happen. LOL I like to think that it took a while for Pippin and Estella to like one another. After all, both of them were trying for Merry's full attention and I suspect that neither wanted to share. : ) Thanks for reviewing!
