Oh, wow! Wow! Oh, that is heart-rending! I think I read this before on your site, but it's like the poignancy just struck me for the first time. Amazing job--both of you!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Hantanyel, ammelda! I realized that I hadn't posted it here so finally got around to it. I'm glad you and everyone else thought it fit well.

Namarie, God bless, Melinyel, Antane :)

Indeed, a moment to mourn as Frodo looks on the devastation wrought on the Shire by Lotho, Sharkey, and their brigands.

Love the imagery, and Frodo wishing he had a third hand for Pippin to hold as well as Sam and Merry.

Author Reply: That was my favorite part too! Great mind think alike. :)

A wonderful, poignant piece. You and your friend have done well! I don't know what you know of great sorrow and it's not my business, but you always manage to get it across very nicely.

Author Reply: Fortunately not much at all, but I think when it comes I may be able to handle it a lot better from working Frodo through his grief and learning a lot myself about how healing being in presence of God can be as he has found in my various tales. Hantanyel for enjoying both pieces!

The first is absolutely hilarious and this is just wonderful.

But I got so confused, (okay it is early morning!) I read the synopis about computer problems and then the author alert took me to the lament. Try reading the lament as if Frodo is mourning the death and loss of his computer. Especially when I got to this line

I did what I thought best

But none can ever replace...Will I just live with this empty, empty space?

With a composed air, and duty first, I know,

while this lonely, silent sorrow does not show

I felt so silly when I worked out how I had mis-understood!

Author Reply: A double hantanyel, my dear harrowcat! So glad you enjoyed both. Sorry you misunderstood though - that will show me not to post first and change my synopis sescond. :) Indeed, what would we do without computers. I feel the same way as Frodo when I can't get into my e-mail.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

This is so very moving - I can only imagine the horror Frodo and the others must have felt upon returning to find the Shire ravaged by Saruman and his minions. Their world was turned upside down in more ways than one.

Well done, as always!

Author Reply: Thank you so much, though I can't really take credit for this one since it was so well written already by someone else and I just added a little. I'm glad you enjoyed!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
