And the healing continues as Glorfindel continues to give over his anger and the rest learn to laugh once more. Author Reply: It will take some time still, but the healing does continue and they all learn to laugh.

“I told Ingwë that you were likely to do something ... precipitous, given half the chance.” -- There’s an understatement! I’m sorry to see poor Glorfindel is still so distressed, and I'm still unhappy with Ingwë about that. I’ve an idea of what Glorfindel might have in mind for Vorondil’s punishment. If I’m right, Vorondil will be thrilled. So can Finrod see where Manveru is, or is he inferring that the normal place would be behind Glorfindel? Author Reply: Glorfindel still has some "issues" about what has happened but hopefully things will work out and we'll finally see him reconciled with Ingwë. It would be interesting to see what your idea of punishment is compared to Glorfindel's. I think Finrod simply assumes that Manveru is hanging around somewhere near Glorfindel and isn't addressing any specific spot.

Magnificent description! I could imagine every little bit of the tent. From the rugs to the firepit. Finrod sure is sneaky. Advising Ingwe to take advantage of Glorfindel's foolishness to turn him into bait. Ooohhh....Finrod better stear clear of Glorfindel whenever someone brings up the subject of GLorfindel's thralldom for a yeni at the least...Even though Finrod is my favorite character, I think that Glorfindel has FULL rights to beat Finrod for takling and dealing about him behind his back. Finrod had no right to do what he did no matter how much good it might do. He and Ingwe should at least have forewarned Glorfindel about what they were going to do... *Sheesh...What does it take to get some respect around here?* Why wouldn't GLorfindel rebraid his hair for the New YEar and the Tournament? They are just braids since he is already a full-fledged warrior. Also what was GLorfindel talking about when he asked Finrod whom he would have given him to? Who is the person he did not want to be given to anyway? I agree though that Finrod would never hurt any person who is below him and that is basically all the Eldar of Eldamar unless they REALLY deserved it. He just isn't that type of elf. When you research the elven descendants of Finwe(not counting the half-elven) you see that there are different qualities that define each of them. This is going to be in Quenya though. Maitamo, Tyelcormo, Carnistir, the 2 Ambarussas, Findekano, even Aredhel, Angarato, and Aikanaro are all basically warriors. The best of them being probably Maitamo, FIndekano,Angarato, and Aikanaro are always considered strong and fierce in battle. Whereas in the other group are Turakano, Findarato, and Alatariel who are better known as the diplomats and *the wise*; those who do not like to fight with use of arms. Yeah, I guess that is all to back up that Finrod wouldn't beat up Vorondil. *WOW! I think I need to shut up, but I am very sorry I just CAN'T!* WHAT IS Glorfindel planning for him and Vorndil to do. Is it a plan to take revenge on Finrod? Or anyone else for that matter? OR am I just trying TOO hard snooping around your papers? I am going to take a wild guess though that it has to do with the tournament or the New Year like everything else is. Once the tournament ends it will be SO much easier to predict because it will most likely take place at something big and that leaves the New YEar, which gives moi a higher chance of being correct! *Yay Me!!!!* How powerful is Finrod now? Could he equal a Maia's? That is only because something keeps telling me that an elf gets stronger after coming from Mandos. Another, was Alassiel born during the Tree Years? It's so confusing with ages...*Moan* Okay, this will be the last bit. Will, which I do hope, find out what they were discussing at the end? Or were they just 'Catching Up' on what had happened to them while seperated? Does it have anything to do with Prince Ingwion? Namarie!!!!!!!! P.S. Fiondil, SEE!!!! >_< *Look* This review is not like my one with all the afterthoughts!!! HA-Ha!!! Author Reply: Finrod was probably the one that decided not to tell Glorfindel what might happen. He probably thought it best not to "stage" anything but just allow Glorifndel to be Glorfindel, knowing that at some point his emotional immaturity would trip him up, giving Ingwë the opening he needed to set Glorfindel up as bait. There could be no forewarning because they would not know in advance what would set Glorfindel off. The warrior braids are more than "just braids", but a symbol of who he is and what he has experienced. It would be the equivalent of someone in the military refusing to wear their uniform. Glorfindel's question to Finrod was related to what Ingwë did. Glorfindel is asking Finrod if he, Finrod, would have done to him, Glorfindel, what Ingwë did, i.e. given him to Martandur as the jewel-smith's thrall. Finrod, of course, says he would if he could not have seen another way of handling the situation. Alassiel was born rather late in the First Age. She was still an elfling when her father went to fight in the War of Wrath and was killed. Her mother is actually a contemporary of Finrod (they played together as elflings), so Finrod only met Alassiel after his return to Aman. As for anything else... you'll just have to be patient and wait for future chapters to explain things. Sorry.

*sigh* It’s as I had feared – Glorfindel didn’t take it very well to learn how much Finrod actually knew and that he was the one to advice Ingwë to use Glorfindel as a bait once again. I am glad Finrod didn’t allow him to walk away like that. To be reminded of the mólanoldor through his thralldom ... poor Glorfindel. But it was absolutely sweet of Vorondil to go to Glorfindel and try to comfort him. Now I’m curious what Glorfindel has in mind for him. And it is nice to know the friends are together again and have time to catch up on everything. Author Reply: Glorfindel is feeling very conflicted... on the one hand he still resents what was done to him and by whom... on the other hand he's just savvy enough to realize the necessity for it ruse. It doesn't make it easier for him though when he realizes that his own "gwador" was involved in what he would consider his humiliation. And certainly the memory of how the mólanoldor were treated by their own people did not help. I'm sure everyone got a kick out of seeing Vorondil try to comfort Glorfindel when one remembers that only a few months earlier Vorondil was seen kicking him, spitting on him and stealing his ring. Quite a change, but then Judgment does that to a person....

Oh, very tough for Glorfindel to hear that Finrod had a part in or at least knew that something might happen with him AND that he would have let him be a thrall if it had been the only way to catch the others. One of the tough things about being a king, though I suspect this might be part of his responsibility as a servant of Irmo and Namo. Vorondil trying to comfort Glorfindel was priceless and made me smile and it seemed to work, which was the best thing. :) I'm glad that the group of them had the chance to finally have some time together! Author Reply: Finrod is finally coming into his own as he claims his 'kingship' and continues to be Irmo and Námo's apprentice and all that that entails. It isn't easy to be and it isn't easy for Glorfindel to accept (yet). While Glorfindel has the memory of being a lord of one of the Houses of Gondolin he has no experience of kingship the way Finrod has, so it's hard for him to accept the fact that his "gwador" would do something like that to him, even for a good cause. It'll take time for him to come to acceptance, but then he's still "young" and has yet to mature to the point where he can accept it on more than just an intellectual level. Vorondil trying to comfort Glorfindel is priceless consider their previous history. I'm sure everyone is happy to be reunited again even if things aren't quite the same between them anymore.

Aww.. The boys are all back together again. I can't wait to see what Glorfindel's idea of a punishment is. That should be fun. Author Reply: We'll find out what Glorfindel considers suitable punishment in the next chapter. Stay tuned...
