I've been reading these stories in the wrong order, but each of them stands on its' own. Thank you for writing these brilliant stories.

Author Reply: Hi ekaterin. As long as you enjoy them, it matters little in which order you read them. Thanks for letting me know how much you are enjoying the stories. I appreciate it very much.

Those imps. I can’t wait to find out what Lady Almáriel’s reaction will be. I'm sure she not used to having her plans thwarted. What ever happens will be just what she deserves. She needs to be taken down a peg or two.

Three cheers to the brothers.

Ah, so many devious Elves here, and each devious in a different manner! Heh!

Author Reply: Elves and deviousness... they do tend to go together, don't they?

What deviousness is Earwen up to that Finrod accuses her of? How long is this story going to be? How far are you from the end? (Not that I want this to end so soon of course!)

Author Reply: I'm afraid I cannot answer any of your questions. The story will be as long as it is and no longer. I think Finrod is accusing his mother of manipulating them into setting a date for the wedding but not being as blatant about it as Amarië's mother.

I’m glad Estë healed Glorfindel; he’ll have enough difficult moments in the next few days without everyone staring at his bruises too (*and* asking him what happened -- when he doesn’t even want to tell his friends).

By mutual consent, Finrod and Glorfindel declined to spar against each other -- One of the possibilities I’ve been considering is that the Bad Guys attack (or whatever they’re going to do) while Finrod and Glorfindel are having their championship match, which with all the fuss is left unfinished. So Finrod and Glorfindel spend the next several years arguing about who *would* have won.... No, they’re elves: they spend however many yéni remain until Glorfindel leaves for Middle-earth arguing about who would have won! And when Glorfindel returns in the FA, they’ll *continue* arguing about who would have won.

Of course, just because the readers are so paranoid doesn’t mean you’re necessarily going to have *anyone* attack....

I don’t blame Amarië for refusing to return to Vanyamar, with a mother like that.

Somehow I’m getting the impression the Wedding will turn out to be Midsummer *this* year. Those ellyn are just too smug.

Author Reply: The only problem with your scenario about Glorfindel and Finrod's match is that there could always be a rematch at the next tournament or even a special match at the end of this one. But the idea of the two of them spending the rest of the Ages of Arda "discussing" who would've won does indeed have it's (humorous) merits, though I suspect that after several yéhi listening to them go on and on about it, even the Valar would be highly tempted to send them back to Mandos until the end of Arda just to shut them up. *grin*

As for the wedding... that remains to be seen...

Sorry, I had one last bit to add and I sort of forgot to add it when typing my review. Poor Amarie... During tea I think she is very fearful that Findarato will cancel the betrothal becuase he can just no longer handle her mother. If he did I keep thinking that no one will want her anymore because she has refused many ellyn already for centuries just waiting for Findarato...but then Finrod would not be that cruel to her... I would not really blame Finrod if he did CANCEL the betrothal because of Lady Almariel, but if he did he is NO longer at the top of my fav. characters!! Yeah...Fiondil as you might be able to tell I like to always think of 'What ifs?' A lot...

Well, cannot wait to see the chapter of the evening of the ball at Ingwe's soon! Hopefully before this Friday (American time)!!!!! Fiondil, I am just VERY impatient to see who wins the tournament and how Finrod, Glorfindel, and Sador will solve the wedding day problem and Lady Almariel's attitude. Oh yes, one more thing I do hope Amarie stands up to her mother one day soon. Hopefully her because if Finrod yells at Lady Almariel, Almariel might find a way to persuade her husband to refuse to let Finrod marry Amarie completely. (I am starting to think her goal in life is to make illustrious marriages so that her child or children will be royal or in extremely high positions.) I keep thinking also that she is very ambitious. Is she? Because I would not be suprised if she cannot wait to see her daughter upon the throne of the Noldor with a crown on her head. But if she keeps with her attitude I do not think Finrod and MAYBE Amarie will even want to invite her to their wedding(which is like the wedding of a century in Aman...)!!!

Well, U-P-D-A-T-E S-O-O-N!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Namarie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Author Reply: Most of your questions are again unanswerable simply because that will spoil the plot otherwise.

I update once a week and that's soon enough. Really, I should make everyone wait a month for the next update just to show them how spoiled they've gotten. *grin*

Another very enjoyable chapter!

I knew you had something planned for getting Glorfindel healed before the tournament, but I hadn't considered the fact that he was going to appear before all of the people and couldn't do so looking like he did. There would only have been more gossip spread about him. I'd only considered the fact that I wanted him to be able to participate in the tournament. :)

Amarie's mother is an 'interesting' person. No wonder Amarie didn't want to return to Vanyamar after Finrod left for ME, it couldn't have been much fun to live with her! I certainly wouldn't want to be around when she finds out when the three brothers have planned... I'm looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.

Author Reply: Almariel seemed to just be there, full blown and in living color. I couldn't *not* write her into the story *grin* and I oftened wondered why Amarië remained in Tirion rather than returning to her own people after Finrod deserted her for ME.

The New Year's Ball should prove very interesting to a lot of people for many reasons, including Finrod and Amarië's wedding announcement.

Sorry, I was doing a camp for girls in the Sierra Nevada for a week! I really enjoyed all the updated chapters, but this one has to be my favorite!

Maybe that is because it gives me an idea of Amarie's family of which I never really thought about. I do so love how you portrayed lady Almariel! She is very emotional and mean. I like that though because I never really thoght about how Amarie's parents would feel about Finrod deserting her for far off lands. Even if you described lord Castamir as being easy-going I am starting to think even he might feel a bit insulted that his daughter was snubbed by a mere prince of the Noldor(now heir to the throne). How does he feel anyway? Will he be thier at the announcement of the wedding? Also what was Almariel objecting to Finrod's behaviour with Alassiel? Amarie doesn't seem to care though I have a strong feeling that she secretly does! Does she?

About the trust, I just keep thinking Finrod is going to abuse that trust. He is the type of person to abandon another. I am a bit suprised that he has not abandoned Amarie by now even if he is the so called 'the faithful.'

When Finrod said their is a ceremony to be through tonight as an excuse to leave is that his moment of foresight about the little elflings?

Another, Fiondil, what is Earwen up to? I do not like the sound of it though...

What does Finrod mean when he says," 'Midsummer is too soon and Amarie...' " to GLorfindel after they leave Almariel's? What is wrong that Amarie doesn't want it then? Is she afraid (Amarie) of something?

Why does Aman need them to be married anyway? How does their marrying effect Aman? Is the outcome REALLY important to Valinor's history?

Fiondil, what WOULD happen if Finrod wanted to release her? HOW would Amarie react to that?

Sorry! Lo Siento, bout the MILLION questions in this comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Namarie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Author Reply: For most of your questions you'll just have to wait and see. I'm not giving anything away. And for some of your questions there are no answers because they are really not germane to the story as I am writing it, so you will have to play "what if" on your own. As for the one or two other questions....

It isn't Finrod who says that there's a ceremony to be gotten through, it's Glorfindel speaking about the upcoming Reconciliation Ceremony between him and Ingwë.

Finrod saying that Midsummer is too soon is an acknowledgement that a royal wedding takes a great deal of planning and logistics and it would take more time than the few interevening months between the New Year and Midsummer to prepare for it.

(Just a word of advice, from being on other fanfiction sites: the review systems tend not to like multiple use of the exclamation point and/or question mark. It tends to clog up the system, wreaking havoc. One or two such is fine and all that is necessary, IMO.)

Nice of you to update so soon I’m able to enjoy it on Sunday afternoon instead of sneaking at SoA at work. And as I’ve finished HP7 already, I’ve even time to read :-)

Ah, I’m glad Estë healed Glorfindel – didn’t like the idea of him being seen so beaten up by anyone.
And I *loved* Vorondil practising his bedside manners *snicker* (not to mention the phrase!). And Amarië played along well.

As for Almáriel ... uh. Tea with a balrog, indeed! Poor Finrod, to have her as a mother-in-law! If she’s continuing at this rate, she’ll bring herself into trouble, I suppose. The Kings will not be too happy about this behaviour. And as surprised I was at first about Glorfindel and Sador, now I have to admire their deviousness. It’s true – nobody said *which* Midsummer *grin* Oh, can’t wait until Almáriel finds out!
