Tell me that story, do,
And we shall make it true!

Wonderful, Dreamflower!

Of course, she does not want to know of foreign countries or bold warriors, but of true love and not just some story, but the story of Merry and Estella, that is written by the both of them!

Your poem reminds me of the romantic poems we analysed at school, like poems by Eichendorff, Brentano or Novalis! Maybe you have heard of those German poets. After the analysis the poems seemed to have lost their "magic". It was a pity!

Fortunately, after finishing school, I never had to do that again. Instead I just admire a good poem :)

Author Reply: Of course!

I haven't heard of those poets individually, though I have heard of the Romantic movement in poetry, that swept Europe at the same time. I know what you mean about analysing poems. It's possible to overthink them, and lose the joy of them!

I'm glad that you liked it!

We don't want to hear of battles and losses and victories--we wish to hear of promise and US! Such is love full oft....

Author Reply: *grin* Yes, and Pippin knows that's how Merry won Estella's heart: he told her the stories of many of the couples he'd met, such as Arwen and Aragorn, Faramir and Eowyn...

Nothing like a good romantic story for putting a lass in a receptive mood!
