Only Vorondil there to watch over them? And the injured Vanya is the one who seeks to disparage Glorfindel? I hope they don't find him only to lose the children! Author Reply: Well, his parents are there to help, so it's not too bad. And there are all the other warriors around to keep an eye on things.

"Sometimes being good and noble really sucks." Is Namo using a bit of his foreknowledge here, indulging in anachronistic "future speak?" :) Whatever the case, it made me laugh. There's a certain charm in occasionally seeing characters who are supposed to be powerful and dignified (at least according to legend and What We Are Taught About The Powers That Be) acting so very human. Nice touch. Author Reply: I know the word is anachronistic but I couldn't find a suitably medieval phrasing that worked quite as well and had the same (humorous) impact. Even my beta-reader agreed. I just figured that this is merely a "translation" of the Valarin equivalent into mod. Eng. in the good old-fashion tradition of the Professor himself. *grin*

"And any of the other Reborn," Olwë added. "They could easily become targets of people’s rage if these rumors are not quashed immediately" -- Yes, the potential is there for things getting really ugly. “Have his family brought to the palace as well. They may know where he’s hiding." -- Hm. Súlimondil’s family.... I’m imagining poor Calalindalë’s reaction to the food fight at dinner! Eruanna might not have been imitating Finrod with those doll-braids, armor and sword. Like Alassiel, she may have been inspired by seeing Region fight. [Though I don’t know if Region fought in Endórë, or if ellith wear warrior braids.] Valacar lost to Ardamirë when he failed to block a thrust that caused his shield to drop -- *whispers behind her hand* Psst! Fiondil! In the previous chapter Valacar was fighting *Hallas* in this round; Ardamirë is still (and rather memorably) in the tinco list. Given Valacar’s character, we’re all thrilled he was defeated, no matter who did it.... Author Reply: Yes, things could get really ugly for the Reborn if the rumors aren't nipped at the bud. And you're right about Eruanna: she may well be inspired by Region rather than by Finrod, but we won't hell the ellon that, he might feel bad. *grin* Thanks for pointing out the error. I was looking at the wrong match when I was writing that sentence. It's been corrected and Valacar is indeed figting with Hallas now.

*stares disbelievingly at screen* Glorfindel did commit murder and Sador kidnapped the elfling? With help of the Lord of Mandos? Oh Valar – I think Námo is right. There has to be something in their water supply or the like and now they’re hallucinating! "Sometimes being good and noble really sucks." How true! I said a similar thing when I was only a few years old, so it seems I’m in good company ;-) Finrod and Sador did very well with Veryandur. I love this elfling more and more – he’s truly a sweet child. Ha, I see Finrod’s entourage is unexpectedly useful. Valacar and Súlimondil are cousins? Interesting. And if they are behind these rumours ... Off to read the next chapter! Author Reply: Sometimes you have to wonder, when people act the way the do, if there isn't something in the water, because how else to explain irrational behavior? Anyway, an entourage is a useful thing every now and then and to think that Vorondil, who started out as an involuntary member of Finrod's household, has proven to be so valuable.
