Oh, I do so want you to write the story behind Ingwion's out burst in this chapter, I am assuming that somebody Ingwion was very close to was killed and Ingwion wanted to go with them to Mandos.
Lynda

Author Reply: That story will be written eventually... I need to finish "Elf, Interrupted: Book Two" first, otherwise certain plotlines would be revealed sooner than they should be. Just be patient.

So, now we know--suicide by cop! Poor child.

Author Reply: Yes. Obviously the child wasn't in his right mind at the time.

GRRRR!!!! I'm not sure what happened! Let's try it so the site doesn't think I'm using HTML code... *waves fist at site*

-- Glorfindel had the indecent thought, quickly suppressed, that if Morgoth himself had suddenly appeared before them all wearing Lady Varda’s favorite gown, the onlookers would have exhibited less shock than they presently were showing at the Lord of Mandos’ announcement. Unfortunately the looks of amusement the two Maiar and the Vala in question shot him at that moment told him he hadn’t suppressed the image quickly enough and he found himself blushing. --

LMAO! Every time I read it too. *smile*

--Sador gave him a brief smile and leaned over to speak to him. "You are very scary when you want to be, muindor nîn," he whispered in Sindarin. --

*snicker* agreed! Finrod can be scary! Thanks for the explanation! It's just the first time I've noticed him ever using this word for them.

Author Reply: Ah, this makes more sense. Thanks. But I *still* want to know what LMAO means. *grin*

And another wonderful chapter! I am enjoying seeing Sador come into his own. Too bad he doesn't rub off more on Glorfindel. *ducks* I was also glad to see the elflings got to actually see the trial, not just hear of it.

Whenever the Lord of Mandos in out of his usual garb, beware! (for NiRi has probably raided his closet. *snickers*) I did find the other Valar being absent very telling. It was so nice to see Namo acting as councilor as well, not judge. Yet, judges make VERY good councilors. *smile*

<>

LMAO!

<<"If it pleases His Majesty," Lord Námo intoned gravely, "the accused pleads not guilty." >>

*smile*

Loved Finrod calling teh people back in line. Very kingly of him there.

Agreed. But... all through this story you have used 'gwador' when referring to these three. I thought muindor meant blood brother? You use it at least twice in this chapter. Is that significant or a typo?

The whole sequence with Ingwion really threw me at first, but second time through... wow. I hope you do tell that tale one day. I am very interested. And again, Sador just shines in this chapter!

<<"But I do, child," he said compassionately. "More than you can ever fully comprehend." >>

*sigh* I love Namo. Have I told you that? And Glorfindel as always!

Great chapter!

NiRi

Author Reply: Okay, I noticed that in this review and in the next one your quoting text doesn't show up for some reason. Did you forget to add them in? Anyway... LMAO... that's a new one on me. If I knew what you were quoting I might have a better clue. *LOL*

You may or may not have noticed that at times Finrod, especially, has also referred to Glorfindel and Sador with the Quenya word _háno_ or the collogquial form _hanno_ (sometimes _hánonya_ or _hannonya_ "my brother"). These words are the equivalent of _muindor (nin)_ in Sindarin. Finrod often associates Glorfindel and Sador as his actual or perhaps foster brothers rather than just "sworn brothers" or "sword brothers" as he might Mithlas and Gilvagor.

I hope to write about the events to which Ingwion and Ingwë and the others keep alluding, events that take place during the Darkening of Valinor. Just be patient. One epic at a time, please. *grin*

poor child :( what a terrible thing to wish. all life is precious...

i'm not sure i understand Ingwion's reaction. who has he lost? or have i forgotten?

well, it's about time for some answers from her

Author Reply: Ingwion's reaction is something that is not explained in this story, only alluded to. Eventually, I hope to write about it, but that's another story.

You know how to make your readers curious, do you? Just whom wants Ingwion to be released from Mandos? Am I right in that it’s the one of whom they in an earlier chapter said something about ‚the right Vanya’? Seems to be one of the Royal Family, after all – but I know, I know – you’ll not tell me ...
Anyway, Sador was rather impressing here. He’s come a long way from the shy ellon who was released with Glorfindel.

Ah, and now Calalindalë has to answer for her behaviour! *runs to next chapter*

Author Reply: The story behind Ingwion's words and the reactions of Ingwë and Elindis will be told someday, never fear. I won't leave readers scratching their heads over that for too long, that would be more torture than they deserve, even from me. LOL

Sador has started to mature and come into his own. He's no longer just the apprentice potter, he's an elf-lord in his own right, maybe not by blood but certainly by circumstances. Being the ward of the Noldóran does have its advantages. *grin*

First off - I'm surprised that Finrod is going to hold court - not the High King - but I do understand and think it's a good thing. As for the spectators - it kind of turns my stomach that they would be so 'bloodthirsty' to not want to miss out on such an event... for the gossip seems to speak of bloodletting!

Oh dear - I was stunned when Namo pled not guilty for Vorondil. Good grief - very much not expected. And I loved that Glorfindel reminded Finrod that he was not in Nargothrond!

Poor Vorondil - did he ever truly remember what had happened? And to have so many recount the horrendous deed... difficult for an adult, nevermind an elfling!

Oh my! And then you broke my heart with Vorondil's confession... how hideous for the poor littl thing... I'm just going to sit here and sob for a moment or two before I continue reading...............

Never in his wildest dreams... 'Finrod visibly clutched the arms of the chair...'

I must admit, I am totally in the dark with Ingwion but will wait patiently...

Author Reply: The offense was against Finrod and as a king in his own right, his is the right to hold the court. I suspect that Ingwë simply didn't want to have to deal with it all, especially since Vorondil is a Noldo and technically under Arafinwë's jurisdiction, not Ingwë's.

Yes, Vorondil has a lot of "history" to deal with, none of it his fault but certain tainting his life in ways he does not understand.

I promise that the backstory with Ingwion, Ingwë, and Elindis and the grief that colors their lives will be told eventually. One saga at a time, please. *grin*
