The results of the trial were what I hoped they would be. Poor Vorondil had enough heartache in his short life. Time alone with his father away from everyone else is just what he needs. Veryandur giving his stuffed animal to Vorondir was absolutely precious. How anything will help Calalindale I’m sure I don’t know. She’s a real piece of work. Finrod shines again. He is not only maturing, but is becoming much wiser. Getting Ingwion to sleep in a tree sounds like a good idea to me. Tari Author Reply: Vorondil and Aldundil do need time alone together and we will see how that goes in Book Two (incdentive to keep reading *grin*). What will happen to Calalindalë is debatable and much depends on her. Finrod, of course, has reached the same level of maturity he enjoyed at the time of his death, so he is a king in truth rather than just in name.

It does appear that the oak tree has forgiven him. After all, he's now been through his judgment, and all debts are paid. Heh! Author Reply: I'm sure the tree was happy to have any of the Firstborn sleeping in it's branches, even Finrod.

Just as there’s a chance that Laurendil will start wearing his wife’s clothes, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one *snicker* Nicely put! I agree completely with Aldundil. Oh, how sweet of Veryandur to give Vorondil his beloved stuffed toy! This elfling is really a little treasure. And I am sure Vorondil will feel very honoured and loved, knowing how much Veryandur loves his Narmollë. Glorfindel knows his otorno very well; even if Finrod objected at first to his escort, I think he may come to appreciate the thought behind it and the care it shows. And I was glad he managed to brighten Ingwion’s mood so much. I truly wonder if you will at least tell us if he's missing a brother or something like that here, or if we have to wait until you're able to get to the other story ... Author Reply: Yes, Veryandur is very sweet and think that in later years he and Vorondil will become otoronor themselves. As for Ingwion's story... that will have to wait awhile. I do intend to write it and in fact have several chapters already written, but I need to do some major rewriting before any of it is ready for posting. Never fear, I will be telling the story of what happened in Aman during the Darkening perhaps sooner than anyone expects. *grin*

Veryandur is such a sweetie, giving Narmollë to Vorondil. "As you keep reminding us," Gilvagor replied, "you are not our king, so we’re not obligated to obey you" -- Hoist with his own petard! I loved the tree-sleeping. [Did you ever read perelleth’s “New Beginnings,” a complex and rather wacky story about events in Lindon just after the War of Wrath? Her Ingwion is at first terribly out of place in Middle-earth. It’s not Aman, and he doesn’t understand it -- or approve of it! Then finally he “gets it” -- and rather goes native. Poor Arafinwë panicks, as Ingwion seems suddenly so in love with Middle-earth there’s a real danger he’ll stay there permanently! And how could Arafinwë ever explain to Ingwë? But instead Ingwion returns west as Valinor’s first hippie, to his family’s total confusion.... On the other hand, *forget* the story recommendation, because we all want you to spend your time *writing,* not reading! (Oh, I am such a *librarian,* retired or not, making reading recommendations.)] Eight yéni, huh? Okay, so it wasn’t Alassiel’s father. The timeframe would seem to point in one particular direction, though I can still only guess *who.* Well, Finrod may have vanished, but at least he hasn’t been kidnapped! Author Reply: I have not YET read Perelleth's "New Beginnings", although I have seen it posted, because I've been TOO BUSY writing, as you may suspect. LOL Someday, (huh!) I hope to be able to. Thanks for the recommendation anyway... Marion. *smirk* Anyway, the timeframe does indeed point to the Darkening. Alassiel's father, Intarion was killed in the War of Wrath only five hundred years earlier, much too soon for him to be released. And no, Finrod hasn't been kidnapped, though until Gilvagor lets them all know, that's probably what Glorfindel, et al. think.

I'm lazy tonight...or rather, this morning. *grin* A nice interlude and lots of hints and nothing solid. It was sweet to see Veryandur give Vorondil his toy. *hugs doggie tightly* I know how hard that is! LOL! This was just a nice wrap up to the trial...now I'm VERY curious to know more about Ingwion and who he lost. A sibling maybe? And my guessing started more ideas popping in my head. sighs. Now I'll never sleep! And yes, it's ALL YOUR FAULT! You get blamed a lot, you know? LOL! Great chapter. Waiting patiently for more. Have a fantasical day! NiRi Author Reply: Hey! don't blame me for your insomnia. LOL! Anyway... this is indeed just a nice wrap up of the trial, a litle breather before the craziness of the tournament begins. *okay, okay... I'm coming...sigh* Gotta go... stupid muse won't let me alone for five minutes to reply to my reviews. *grin*
