Does Eomer know what he just gave Meriadoc permission to do? Surely a friend who knew how to help a sick friend would do so, would they not? And then, if said friend, once feeling better wants to do something rash like ride off to war, surely you would not let them go alone! Put this with the coming chapter where Merry and Eowyn plot, and, oh, my goodness. Big brother asked Merry to help his sister!
