Looks like someone must have left a gate or two open too!
More please,
Lynda

Author Reply: Yeah, they let this entire situation get away from them, didn't they? Frodo really needs a screen door. I like imagining a round screen door on Bag End. hehehe

Thanks for reading!

Ah, yes--I remember this one, with all the animals coming in for a visit! Heh!

Author Reply: So you have read one or two of these before! Thanks for stopping back by.

But there ain’t no eaves at Bag End, and that’s a fact. ;)

Poor Frodo, he’ll be hearing about this for a long time, as well he should. He didn’t think his plan out very well at all, did he? I enjoyed Frodo’s horror when he realized he was thinking like Pippin, and Sam’s barely-contained amusement at the whole situation, as well as the lusty critters in the bread box. Hm, maybe this would be a good time for someone to invent the screen door. ;)

Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed Frodo's little disaster. Sam and the Gaffer enjoyed it very much. Those lusty critters in the bread box were kind of entertaining weren't they? I like your idea about a screen door. Maybe Sam could invent one. (That would make a good plot bunny for you.) Sam could start thinking about how to let the smell of the garden into the smial without letting in the wildlife and come up with a screen door! You should write that. Happy New Year!

Hehehe....trés cute! I love critters!

(But not in my kitchen...not like that possum that got in there once and started eating the cat food and I finally had to scare it out with the vacuum cleaner since the cats wouldn't go near it, or the snake that got into my washing machine etc. etc.....)

Author Reply: Your kitchen sounds a bit like mine. I saved a garter snake from my cats this summer. It was taking a nap on my kitchen floor. So far the only possum that I have is the one that eats the cat food on the front porch with the four raccoons that drop by but we did have a little mouse that I took out in one of those humane traps. I can't kill anything but spiders and them I'd rather someone else killed. They worry me.
Glad you liked all the animals in this!

ROTFLMBO!! Omgosh - just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, the goat shows up...lol. Are you sure it wasn't Dumpling in disguise? ;-)

Wow -- so many words to include! You did fabulous!

Author Reply: No, this wasn't Dumpling! hehehe. Cathleen didn't include any sheep in this challenge. I started to stick one in but when I looked the kitchen was completely full!

Yes, when one finds oneself beginning to think like Pippin, that is a moment in which to stop and take stock indeed--if, that is, half of it weren't enjoying itself within Bag End! Poor Frodo! And that GOAT! Heh! (But no sheep? Giggle!)

Author Reply: I know! There were no sheep on the list of animals to use in the challenge and I decided that it would be wrong to sneak them in. But the sheep were partly responsible for this story all the same. While in the UK we visited this very old Church that had a sign on the door which warned that anyone visiting the church should keep the door closed because if they didn't the sheep would come in! They also warned that the cows would eat your car antenna but somehow I didn't think that would fit into a Middle earth story. hehehe

Bravo! Bravo!! Bravisimo!!!

You are the Mistress of Hobbit Humor, GW!

:-D

Author Reply: Thank you but I wouldn't go that far. I am very glad you enjoyed it though.

Oh this is just brilliant GW. Just what I needed after my 90 minute drive back from my parents took 4hours! heavy rain and a bad accident!

Author Reply: Now that sounds like one very wicked drive! Sorry you had to go through that just to get home. Thanks for reading and I am very glad that you enjoyed it.

This is so cute and funny! My favorite line was the Gaffer taking a second look so he could be sure to report accurately down at the tavern. LOL!

Author Reply: I can just see the Gaffer spending the entire day telling and re-telling this story while his friends buy him drinks down at the tavern and ask him to "tell it again, Gaffer! That Baggins is almost as strange as old Bilbo was!"
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the review!

*ROTFLMBO*howl*snort*giggle*wipes eyes*snicker*snerk*hiccup!*

Good grief, GW, I think you got every single thing on the list *except* the skunk, and if you count the Author's note, you could count the skunk too! (I'm sure mentioning something to mention that you are not mentioning it should count!)

Poor Frodo--I loved him wishing Pippin were there! I'm sure that Pippin would have found several bright sides to the situation--why, how often does one have such a good view of so many different animals at one time? Perhaps Frodo could charge folks a penny apiece to come and look at all the animals through his window! And I am quite sure he would have had a lot of questions about what those bunnies were doing! He might have suggested Errol join them! And I am very sure Merry is going to be sorry he missed this one--perhaps that could be one of Frodo's bright sides: Merry was not there to make his snarky remarks on the situation. Though of course he will make up for it when he hears about it!

And perhaps the Widow will allow Frodo to make up to her if he buys her a whole set of fancy new tins!

Ah, well! At least now Frodo gets to remodel the kitchen. Do you suppose he'll go for granite countertops and high-end appliances? *giggle*grin*goes back to read again*

Author Reply: I love the way your reviews include sound-affects. I don't get that from just every one. Oh, and this sentence, (I'm sure mentioning something to mention that you are not mentioning it should count!), did you get that directly from Pippin? LOL That just sounds like Pippish to me.

I don't think the Widow will forgive Frodo easily but maybe he will be able to make his own biscuits once he gets those new appliances. Thanks for reading!
