| I can't wait to find out what Melkor's reaction is when he reallizes what has happened. I have always consider him to be so intelligent as to be stupid. Turning away from Iluvatar was definetly stupid. He can't outsmart the Vala either. Namo and Vaire together again, how sweet. I may get caught of with my reading of this tale yet. | Heh, heh, what a devious plan... I was laughing so hard through this whole chapter... Vairë’s shrieks, quite genuine, wer cut off[...] "That last wasn’t in the plan." Do I suspect a little fondling of his beloved, hm? And amongst the hilarious bickering we get a truly moving scene of Námo's acknowledgement of his love for Vairë - niiiice! "My brethren and I could see you two... um... glowing from three star systems away with a dust cloud in between." Lol! Arien was guiding the star around the world with great intent, which saddened Vána, for she hated to have had to deceive the Child. She vowed to herself that somehow she would make it up to her Máya. Oh, I like this. And she will make it up to her, as we all know. I like the idea that it will be more a reward and a joy for Arien than "just" a duty later to steer the sun. What I also like is that you show the Ayamunuz as deliberately losing to Melkor. It has always irked me - and struck me as difficult to believe - that Melkor should be so much stronger than all the others combined. And thank you (and Misty) verrrry much for explaining what a colure is! Author Reply: I (and Námo) had a lot of fun with this chapter! LOL Especially with Námo doing the unexpected, keeping everyone on their toes, so to speak. I thought it would be interesting to give the backstory of why Arien was so eager and willing to divest herself of her incarnate form and steer the sun for all time. Misty has been a great help with the astronomy. I know a lot but she knows way much more and has all the resources at hand, which helps. | |

| Oh, I'm so glad that Namo finally remembered his feelings for Vaire! That was nice to have happen, though I'm concerned that he took her when he shouldn't have, especially as at the end of the chapter he hadn't moved the beacon. The battle scene was well done... I hope that Melkor truly is thrown off by everything they did. He is soooo disgusting and Manwe just takes it all so calmly and has everything under control - a very nice trait to have in the leader of the Valar. Well done, Fiondil! Author Reply: Thanks, Radbooks. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. We will see in the next chapter what happens to Námo and Vairë and why the beacons don't move when they should. | Oh Excellent chapter! Full of humor, angst, romance... I think you nailed it all in one blow! LOL! And I can think of a reason Namo hasn't changed the beacons yet. Shall there be a newly wed couple of Ayanumuz next chapter? *grin* Just kidding. I do hope they are alright. Sorry this is short. STill settling in and trying to get house finished. I'll leave longer reviews again once it's all done and I can sit at my computer for longer than 5 minutes! NiRi Author Reply: Is that romantic enough for you, NiRi? | *Grin* Glad to see Namo and Vaire finally getting some alone time *chuckle* Ooooh, bad Melkor! VERY BAD MELKOR!!!!!!! *glares at him* I am glad Manwe and the others got him!!!! And if he says anything about Varda again...*shudders at the thought of what Manwe would do* Poor Arien, being deceived that way and now her pretty star's gone nova too :( Lots and lots and lots of exciting stuff happened in this chapter and I love the story so far *wants more* *bounce* I especially like how the Maiar...Um, Mayar, and everyone counted to one billion :D ^_^ Silly Namo and Vaire, they were supposed to be hiding! and yet they could be seen from so far away even with a dust cloud in between *tsk tsk* silly Namo for changing the rules. still, Vaire being 'kidnapped' by Namo is better than when she was kidnapped before! ~Kaylee!!! *squeefully awaiting more* Author Reply: I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter a lot, Kaylee. Yes, Melkor is very bad and evil but we know he gets his in the end anyway, so that's all right. Nämo is always changing the rules, that's why he's Námo and kidnapping Vairë we saw was the best thing, keeping her away from Acairis. I'm sure Vána will comfort Arien and she will see that it was all for the greater good of protecting the real Atháraphelun from Melkor and we know that eventually she becomes the ruling intelligence of Anar, so that works out as well, too. We'll find out what Námo and Vairë (and the Máyar) are up to in the next chapter. Thanks for reviewing. | |

| Well, the attack has come, and we have a bit of a cliffhanger here, don't we? Heh! Now, to see what Vaire and Namo do to Melkor's forces. And have we seen the birth of Ungoliant here? I always have seen her as having served Vaire and perhaps Irmo at one time or another. No, Namo--how will you punish your errant brother? Heh! Author Reply: Not sure what Námo and Vairë are up to yet, but we'll find out soon. Whether Acairis eventually becomes Ungoliant remains to be seen, I think, though she is certainly a strong candidate for the role, isn't she? | |

| Oooooh! I was sooooo not expecting what Namo's distraction would be. This read like riding a rollercoaster, one thing after another, vivid mental images, and bounding emotion throughout, with another little twist right at the end. I loved Vaire's reaction to Namo "kidnapping" her. And I'm so very glad he finally made the emotional connection and remembered all of what he felt for her. I laughed out loud when Maranwe told Namo and Vaire that they'd been visible even three star systems away through a dust cloud. Hee! The description of the events around the destruction of the false Atháraphelun was very vivid, and I must say that I wish that there were some way to put it on film or video with appropriate rousing soundtrack! Cowardly Melkor, lurking in the rear... I thought it very interesting that Manwe demonstrates that he is stronger than his fallen brother. Sometimes, evil seems so overwhelming that it appears that good cannot overcome it, but yet, there is strength in good that evil cannot recognize--and is surprised by it. So now we know what Melkor was up to in the stellar nursery... destabilizing one or more stars for this purpose. Kind of appropriate that he lost in the end thanks to his own tool being used against him. I have this mental image of Arien weeping because the star and the flat world were destroyed, and being comforted by Vana. And just what the heck is Namo (and Vaire) doing that is making him late to switch the variable? As always, well done! Author Reply: There is certainly a great deal of emotion and action happening in this chapter, and no one was expecting Námo to abduct Vairë the way he did. *grin* I'm glad the description of the events around the destruction of the flat Athárahelun was vivid enough. I tried to make it vivid without going into a lot of detail. I figure most readers could fill in the picture with their own imagination. Good is not necessarily weaker than Evil, merely that Evil has no qualms about doing things Good would not, but Manwë is no wimp and he had everything planned to a nicety in this campaign. As to what Námo and Vairë are doing that is making him late to switch the variable... we'll find out in the next chapter. Thanks for reviewing. I'm glad you enjoyed the rollercoaster ride. *grin* | |

| Ah, what an amusing temper trantrum! And for Melkor certainly believable, I’d say. You mean it was not planned that Námo decided to take Vairë with him? *grin* Sneaky Námo! And I absolutely love their conversation and kissing afterwards. Not to mention Maranwë telling them he could see them glow from three star systems away with a dust cloud in between *lol* Well, so far most of their plan seems to have worked – but what about Námo? Is he too distracted holding Vairë or has something bad happened again? Always these cliffhangers ... *grumble* ;-) Author Reply: But if it weren't for the cliffhangers, why would you come back for more? LOL I actually did mean to continue the chapter with Námo and Vairë but realized that their part of the story would make the chapter longer than I wanted, so I decided to split the action between two chapters. I'll try not to keep you hanging in suspense too long. Glad you liked this chapter, anyway. | |
