Hi Fiondil :) Celeborn has always been one of my favorite characters, so this story was a definite win for me. I love how you write him here. For all his calm, collectedness I'm sure this meeting made him squirm. This really is a testament to his love for his Lady of Light. For Finrod also, this was a big step and he also wasn't afraid to take it. I think that says a lot about them as leaders. Interesting that Celeborn is a mystery to his cousin. Many, of the Noldor I think, might be tempted to underestimate him, but he is a huge force to be reckoned with. No one could love, win and ultimately wed Galadriel if they were not. Hopefully it is the start of a wonderful friendship, and even brotherhood, for both of them. :) Author Reply: I think people sorely underestimate Celeborn and that's a theme that I bring up in other stories where he is either involved or mentioned. He's also very brave to do what he did here. And Finrod is just being Finrod. I can't imagine him acting any other way. And I think his estimation of Celeborn rose after this and never took him for granted. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate you taking the time to do so.

These elves and their clothes snicker And I always thought the female part of my family was bad - but that I have to reconsider! Finrod arguing with his valet about wearing his best or only second-best court garb, and that he ended up with only the third-best, was too funny. Now I wonder if Finrod made the announcement in his best or fourth-best garb, after gifting the third-best to Celeborn? grin Anyway, Celeborn is right - having Finrod's blessing would go a long way to public acceptance of this match. And Finrod is right, too - it would not be wise to deny this match. Galadriel would turn up in Nargothrond, breathing fire ;-) The end was lovely. Finduilas' disappointment to lose her seat besides 'Unca' Finda' and her joy at sharing stories with this new uncle was sweet. I wonder just what she told Celeborn? Author Reply: Well, Finrod didn't give Celeborn his entire outfit, merely the overrobe, so he wasn't forced to go hunting for more clothes, no doubt to his valet's delight. grin Finduilas wasn't originally planned but she insisted that Celeborn was sitting in HER seat, so naturally she was upset. As to what tales she told on her "unca' Finda".... we can only guess. I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for reviewing.

SQUEAL Ohmygosh!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So that's how it went! The King of Nargothrond suddenly leaned over and gave him a kiss, not on the brow as was customary among distant kin, but on the lips, as between brothers. Celeborn’s surprise must have shown, for the king smiled. "Didst thou really think I would be so foolish as to deny my sister anything, muindor nîn? Welcome to the family." BOUNCE "But Unca’ Finda, I always sit there!" Celeborn looked around to find a rather put out elleth not much older than twenty-five standing next to him pouting. She had the typically dark brown hair of the Noldor, though there were golden highlights that harkened to her Vanyarin heritage. She wore a lovely frock of dark blue and a crown of early irises in her hair. Her features bore a close enough resemblance to Finrod that Celeborn suspected he was gazing upon one of the king’s kin, perhaps a niece. Finrod smiled down at the elfling. "Not tonight, Finduilas. Tonight you may sup with thine adar and naneth." "But I am thy chatelaine, Unca’ Finda," she protested, unconsciously twisting one of her braids. "Thou didst say so. I should sit next to thee." Tears of childish frustration welled in her eyes. AW!!!!! poor Finduilas!!!!!! "It would do me great honor if thou wouldst share my trencher, my lady, for art thou and I not family?" He reached over and pulled her head down so that he might kiss her gently on the lips, then he rose and led her to the chair next to his. "Sit thee here, my lady, and perhaps thou and I can exchange tales about thine uncle." He smiled at Finrod and gave him a wink. "I’m sure thou hast many amusing tales to tell on him." GRIN I'm sure she does!!!!!!!! ~KAYLEE!!!!! Author Reply: I'm glad you enjoyed this tale, Kaylee. Celeborn and Finrod together was fun to write. Hopefully the muse will let me write more such tales with them together someday.

Only his third-best court garb, eh? Yet he still outshone Fiondil! But he's far too wise to dismay his sister, isn't he? And the courage of Celeborn has pleased him--that is good. As for young Finduilas...it would be interesting to learn just which stories she chose to share. Heh! Author Reply: I think you mean that Finrod still outshone Celeborn. grin And Celeborn does indeed have a lot of courage... he's marrying Galadriel after all. grin

What fun! I loved the clothing descriptions (I was even envying Celeborn his outfit, despite all the purple shades). And then to hear, after all of Finrod's sartorial glory, that he was merely wearing his second-best -- no, his third-best! sigh I'm frustrated not to be able to hear Finduilas's tales. [Keep them wanting more....] "I doubt the Sindar will understand or, if they do, they will be too impressed" -- Is that "they will be too impressed" or "they will not be too impressed"? Author Reply: It's "they will not be too impressed". I need to go in and change that to make it clearer. Thanks.

Smart move on Celeborn's part or did Artanis/Galadriel suggest it to him? Just how big are these guys closets, they all seem to somewhat 'clothes horses' espicially the Valar and don't get me started on the size of the jewelery box, that has to be huge?!:<) More please, Lynda Author Reply: Not sure to what smart move you are referring. If to Celeborn's choice of clothing, that was all his idea. If to Celeborn asking for her hand in Quenya, that was probably Galadriel's. As for the Valar... since they're spiritual beings, their vestures are merely a part of their 'image' when they become incarnate, so they don't need any closets or jewelry boxes.
