I was a little surprised that Aragorn would have left Eomer in charge of the King's camp - being Rohirric might have been a detriment. Leaving Imrahil in charge, I think, would have been wiser... but I do love the Rohirrim - so go for it Eomer! And a wise decision nevertheless. I giggled when Legolas said he 'believed they saved' Frodo some supper. I love Frodo's thanks to the horse. Nice chapter indeed... though, of course, I'm wondering what on earth is wrong with Aragorn, but glad he will soon be in his brothers' hands! No better place in all of Middle-earth! Author Reply: A good point about Imrahil, but I think Aragorn might have shown public respect for Eomer early on, by acknowledging his kingship and authority in every way possible. In any event, that's what works for this story. :)

So the nasty rain didn't wait! Now things may be even worse but I am glad the twins were the ones sent to get Aragorn. I loved Legolas's wording of 'the truth' here. Very clever folk, Elves. And so like Frodo to remember to thank the horse for his part in all of it. Author Reply: Thank you. I like it when everyone needs to work together in true 'Fellowship' mode. And as we've seen in the Professor's tale, even the horses have their parts to play.

I got the treat of reading 2 chapters at once, and I still don't know what ailment befell Aragorn. At least he got help. Smart idea to take him into the hobbits tent. But won't people come by to talk to the king, once it is knows that he is with the hobbits? Staying w/Frodo shouldn't hinder him of doing some business. How do they restrain his Rangers or Imrahil from coming by? But at least Gandalf will be told. I love this story idea and all my favorite characters are there. Author Reply: Glad you're enjoying the story! I'm still working out a lot of the details myself, so I don't have a lot of answers yet. But I think it will be fun having Aragorn and the hobbits in one place together. :)

Well what is wrong with Aragorn. You know he did get awfully close to that troll in the last battle, maybe he has caught some kind of troll sickness, I mean that foot did not look like it had been washed in ages. Author Reply: Troll sickness! Now that's a creative idea. :)

I'm so curious now to discover what is wrong with Aragorn! Poor man, but Frodo was very brave to ride for help on Roheryn. I'm used now to Frodo knowing Elladan and Elrohir from the Quarantined universe that it took me a moment to figure out why he didn't know them here. LOL! You've really built the suspense wonderfully, and I hope there will be a new chapter very soon. :) Author Reply: I believe Frodo would have known the twins, if even from just a few days when they returned to Rivendell with news of the wraiths -- but I doubt he'd know much about them, such as the fact that they were skilled in healing. Frodo has proved himself to be quite remarkable, in every situation, so he wouldn't hesitate to do whatever was necessary here to get help for his good friend. Thank you for coming on this new adventure!

Another exciting chapter. I like how you've drawn Eomer... he comes across very believable in his worries about the men losing confidence if Aragorn showed weakness. Men's confidence in their leaders often hangs by a thread even with established leaders. And I love the imagery of Aragorn hanging onto the very grass. I've had bouts of vertigo and that's exactly what you end up doing--grabbing what you can and holding on for dear life! I'm looking forward to Chapter 3! Author Reply: Thank you so much! I'm very happy the characters 'ring true' for you.

A nice bit of TLC for the soon-to-be king. Eomer is nicely handled; I can see his reservation at letting the men see Aragorn infirm. Although, it's a good thing neither Frodo nor Aragorn thought to send Roheryn back without a rider. That would have caused an uproar for sure. Looking forward to Gandalf's appearance. Author Reply: Thank you, Meckinock. Yes, the new king's riderless horse galloping back into camp would have definitely caused a great deal of fright and speculation.

Ah, bless Frodo in this! I so love this Hobbit and his caring, even for the sensibilities of Roheryn. Love the story--the truth and not the truth.... Author Reply: Thank you. Frodo's heart is as big as the Shire.

I'm absolutely dying here . . . oh my goodness can it be any BETTER, to have Aragorn sequestered away with the hobbits while the twins look after him? I am in heaven!!! Comfy Aragorn h/c and hobbit and blankets heaven, I tell you!! Though of course I do hope that Aragorn doesn't recover TOO swiftly. :) Frodo is perfect here... so brave and selfless and so concerned about everyone but himself. And I sense he's likely to be on the receiving end of warm blankets before the story is over, too. :) And I like your Legolas so much, as he's fun-loving and has a sense of humor and yet retains his elf-like qualities. And Eomer! Wise Eomer, just taking charge. Did I mention that my heart gave a pitter-patter when the twins found ill Aragorn, who was so dizzy and incoherent he was only half-aware of what was going on? Oh yes, pitter-patters like crazy. And Gandalf... the idea of Gandalf being told ... all right, will quit babbling now! This story is definitely one of the bright spots of my entire week--and will be the next update, as well. Author Reply: You encourage me, Lily! I know this won't be as intense as you would like, but it's such a joy to craft an AragornHealing story in Cormallen, my favorite place in Middle-earth. And what better place for him to heal than surrounded by solicitous, brave, and selfless hobbits? *many hugs and happy bounces*

oooo, not long enough a chapter! :) More, please! I can't think of what possibly could be wrong with Aragorn...*waiting and chewing on pencil eraser* Love, Neilia Author Reply: Oh no, not the eraser! I'll try to type faster while you find something more nourishing to nibble on. Thanks, Neilia. :)
