I'm so glad the wood was finally healed. I've wondered about that since reading Elladan and Elrohir's tale. I like your take on why the Sindar are not happy with Celeborn and don't like the lady. Loved the song. Did you write it? Of course you did. grin One question: Early in the 3rd Age, was the Greenwood called Eryn Lasgalen? I thought it didn't get that name until after the end of the War of the Ring. Thanks for filling us in! runs off to read update for Wars Author Reply: You're right about Eryn Lasgalen. I had thought I had caught all of them and changed them to Eryn Galen iDhaer "Greenwood the Great" which is what it was called before it became Mirkwood. Thanks for pointing it out to me. And of course I wrote the song! LOL Glad you loved it. I enjoyed writing (and translating ) it. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Namarie, meldonya! Oh, what a story!!! I loved how the three Elf-lords came together to help the trees heal. (though I think someone besides the trees needs Thranduil's apologies! Or rather, they should apologize to and reconcile with each other. sigh Stubborn, stubborn Oropherion...Just as stubborn and proud as the Noldorin Lady he so detests. Maybe that's the problem...they're too alike! snort) I loved the idea of them Singing...Is the Song of Power a common thing among Elves, then, would it be common knowledge? I thought from your other tales that only Finrod and Glorfi knew how to do it...ponders And I love the words of the Song, they're so beautiful. Funnily enough, I could understand most of them without the translation! grin ~Kaylee!! who wants more tales with Thranduil, and wonders if the King of the Greenwood and the Lady of Light will EVER put aside their differences... Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. I'm glad you enjoyed this story. And good job at being able to read the Sindarin without the translation. I don't know if Songs of Power are common among the Elves but I think at least the Elf-lords (and ladies) were familiar with them. Finrod and Glorfindel would not be the only ones to know about them. Remember, both Celeborn and Thranduil lived in Doriath under the Maia QUeen Melian so they may have learned such things from her. In my other stories the Valar were simply surprised at the level of knowledge the Elves had, not that they had such knowledge.

Nice, Fiondil! To bring peace and life to these woods seems just the elvish thing to do. And it made me smile that it was Celeborn who found the right way to do it. How nice of them to apologise even if they weren't the ones who betrayed the trees in the first place. And it worked very well :) Btw, I see in your universe Thranduil and Celeborn are related, too. I’ve seen that many times in fanon, but still have to find it in canon – do you know of any hint that they are kinsmen? (Not that I mind in the least, on the contrary, only being curious – you know so much more than I do!). And as I quite love this idea ... ;) When you still don't get review alerts, you should tell Nilmandra - she was asking users at her LJ and SoA Group to tell her of any errors. Author Reply: I doubt if there is anything specifically in canon that points to Celeborn and Thranduil being kinsman but it stands to reason that they are both Elf-lords who lived in Doriath. I'm sure over the millennia there was enogh intermarriage between the Sindar that some sort of blood relationship existed between them. And of course I'm careful not to mention the degree of kinship.

Oh, those poor trees, what they must have felt when they were betrayed by the Evar(sp)! Not so much indifferance but enduring apathy and irritation at being bothered by those who betrayed them! I hope they feel better now that they have an apology, better late, than never! More please, Lynda Author Reply: I'm sure that Amroth's people will be moving into the Woods with lots of hugging therapy and love. grin It might take some time but I think the Woods will eventually recover.

Finally! I manage to get through to the website! Even trees have looooooong grudges, especially trees that live for such a loooooooooong time! Author Reply: Glad you were able to get in at last, sprite. I'm discovering that I'm not receiving any review alerts any more so I have to keep checking SoA to see if I've gotten any reviews. A real bother. Anyway, trees have feelings too and perhaps these trees haven't live quite that long but the memory of the betrayal would have been passed down through the generations. At any rate, at least the healing has begun and that is all that matters. Thanks for reviewing.
