| This story is a classic example of why I never drink while at the keyboard! I love the way you portray the Valar and this was hilarious. Oromë unable to hold his drink and Namo not only drunk but shovelling down everyone's pie! Loved the fact that they had to put right all the damage, but I'm wondering about those trouble-making Elves at the next table......... Never seen again eh? I wonder why........... | ... I will never be able to read the " Serious Namo" Chapters in Elf Interrupted again without laughing myself silly. This has got ot be one of the best Fiondil's Tapestry chpaters- LOVED it! | Hmmm - I wonder if this is the incident Vairë refers to in _Dinner with Námo and Vairë_? It is certainly cringe-worthy enough for Námo :-) ROFLMAO Author Reply: Actually, when I originally conceived of this story it was in the framework of being a sequel to "Dinner with Námo and Vairë" where we see at least one of the tapestries Vairë shows the ladies, but in the end, decided to make it a stand-alone story. But yes, this was definitely *one* of the tapestries Vairë had in mind to show the ellith. *grin* I'm glad you found it amusing. Thanks for letting me know. | |

As for Glorfindel... only if Gandalf told him. *grin* I thought it only fair that the Valar fix the inn that they nearly burned down but without using their powers. | |

| You know, I saw the update today morning at work, but wasn't able to read anything because the day was really crazy (first day with a new software - don't even ask how much went wrong!), but in hindsight it was probably better that I had to wait so long. People would have thought me crazy for howling with laughter! Argh, what did Olórin do?? Even he can't have expected things to go *so* bad! *ROFL* Námo being such a glutton was funny (though his table manners in the end left something to be desired), as was Tulkas drinking so much ale. And from then on, things got even To watch the disaster unfold was *too* funny for words - I've not laughed so much for some time! And Manwë's (and Vana's) punishments were very creative. Maybe the Valar finally got a copy of Finrod's innovative book about 'Creative Punishments for Thralls, Elflings and Other Recalcitrant Underlings' *evil grin* You know, now I *truly* want to know if Olórin remembered this incident after he became Gandalf and told Glorfindel about it. Our dear balrog-slayer would have enjoyed the story *so* much! Thank you for the much needed laugh - this was absolutely hilarious!!! Author Reply: Hi Kitty. Maybe it is a good thing you didn't read this earlier in the day. I'm sure after all the frustration you encountered with the new software (been there and done that myself, btw), you probably appreciated this more. As for the four ellyn... you're correct, the other Valar and perhaps some of the Maiar who would have been in attendance to their lords and ladies also listened to Olórin's explanation, so you just never know... it is interesting that those four are never seen again by anyone. *grin* I have no idea if Gandalf would remember it, but I bet if he did, Glorfindel would have loved it. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. | |

| oh, heavens! that was hilarious! thank you for giving me such a good laugh! right, who gets to tell Glorfindel when he gets back? he will just ~love~ to hear about this one! see, he's not so bad after all... ;-) Namo singing (badly) cracked me up. i don't suppose you'd ever consider writing that song out? of course, the site rules might not let you! Poor Orome! *giggles* i have to wonder- at the end "...Interestingly enough, there was no sign then or ever of the four ellyn who had started everything with their remarks about a certain Balrog-slayer and the Valar..." i don't suppose that the four ellon were actually other Valar/Maia in disguise, playing a prank on them? i must confess, it was the first thing i thought! brilliant! looking forward to the next installment J Author Reply: You're welcome. | You really know how to make my day start off with a laugh! And elves and the Vala think Glorfindel is trouble??? He has nothing on those three. Good lord, can you imagine being caught saying those things about Namo and then having to face retribution? *snicker* And just what did happen to them I wonder? "Lord Ulmo was most upset to find half his lake missing." You think?! *snort* Great line! I laughed out loud when the spoon came into the story! I'm surprised he's not still trying to fill that pail! And I love that you brought Eönwë into it also. You really must do a story on some of the outrageous vows made by Legolas, Elladan and Elrohir as elflings that he must record. I'd love to hear his take on those three! Excellent chapter and I wait for the next installment to see what trouble everyone can get into. Ces Author Reply: Hi, Ces. | Oh god, my ribs. Now that I've stopped laughing like a loon. Why is it that no matter what the race- men, elves, maiare or vala, the male of the species seems to be able to make collosial idiots of themselves whenever a pub is involved? Unfortunately, I can remember echoing Vaire's sentiment a time or two. thanks Fiondil, that was a lot of fun to read. Eliza Author Reply: Hi Eliza. Well, what can I say... boys will be boys whatever their species? *lol* And don't forget, these Valar had to *be* elves for the duration, so they were perhaps acting (and reacting) differently than thay would had they been in their true forms.
