| This one is full of gems, but this is my favorite: “There’s its head!” Pippin shouted. “My baby has a head!” “It’s a miracle!” Merry shouted LOL! Leave it to Merry to make light of the beautiful miracle of sheep being born. I think he'll feel differently when it's his own children. ;) Author Reply: LOL I just hope none of Merry's childern are sheep. hehehe (I couldn't resist.) "Merry had a little lamb, little lamb..." So glad you enjoyed it. I don't know how accurate my 'birth of a sheep' is because I have never seen that miracle but I was certain that Pippin would have seen it early on, living on a farm. "Miracle" would have been a nice (and appropriate) name for the sheep, too. Pippin is a very bright lad for his age. He has already started to learn the rules of diplomacy. And to tell you the truth, I prefer Pervinca's answers, too, because she really thinks about them and not just calls everything she can not explain "a miracle". P.S.: You should migrate to the Tooklands. I've heard that they have lots of sheep ;-) Author Reply: I enjoy writing from Merry's point of view for some reason. Maybe that's why I write him rather cheeky. hehehe Miracle would really have been the perfect name for the sheep, especially since it had a head and everything, if it weren't for the fact that I had written a story about a pet sheep named Dumpling once upon a time for one of Marigold's lovely Challenges. I plan to post that one here in the near future. I think most folks have read it but it sort of goes with all of this nonsense. I also like Pervinca's answers better. They may not be completely correct but she is trying. I might do well as a shepherd in the Tooklands...I might even be willing to marry into the Took family if asked. : ) | |

| Miracles *do* happen...I'm at a LOSS for words to describe this awesome, brilliant story, lol! I am so in love with your hobbit wee ones -- Tooks and Brandybucks alike. I liked your Paladin here -- but you know I've also enjoyed your earlier tales, too. :-) You have child psychology down to a TEE, which I feel greatly adds to your wonderful tales. This was a fantastic story about lambing -- and I've learned something new, too! "lambing jug"! Can't say that I'd ever need to use it, lol, as I never write about sheep. I'll leave that to you since you always do an excellent job of it, lol. Dumpling...hmmm....Dumpling...Merry...Dumpling...Merry...there's just something about that combination that seems awfully familiar....hehehe. ;-) It was WELL worth the wait to not have to deal with other things while reading and enjoying your tale. Absolutely LOVED every single word! I'm so glad you're back to writing! I hope you continue -- you have been so missed. By me! Author Reply: You can explain the miracles to Merry for me. LOL I am so very glad you enjoyed this and I always love it when you review with words like brilliant and awsome. Makes me blush. The child psychology comes in to play because I have the mind of a child. I'm using it right now. hehehe That 'lambing jug' may be the only educational thing I've ever put into a story so you'd better find a use for it! It's all your getting. When I was writing this one I realized that I have yet to post "Dumpling" to Stories of Arda. It was a challenge story for Marigold and for some reason I forgot to put it here. I'll have to do that, maybe as an extra chapter for this one. I seem to be writing a lot all of the sudden so I'm glad to know you are still in the mood to read, dear friend of mine. Tattoo! | |

| I, of course, loved this sheep-based story. (I am sure your Cloud did, too, and is proud to have many namesakes within it.) Merry's internal dialogue is great, too -- I especially liked where he "only just" resisted the urge to shout "it's a miracle" in answer to the lad/lass question. It's also nice that Pervinca, while opinionated, is not mean and is shown as just a little kid -- oh, wait, that's goats. There's no goats in this story, are there? -- I mean, a little lass herself. Who is obsessed with naming the sheep. Another good sheep name is, of course, "Baa." I'll be watching for the duck-feather-based sequel in the future. Author Reply: Thank you! You are one of the sheep people on my flist thanks to Baa, so I am glad that you enjoyed it. The next time I write about sheep I'll have to remember to name one after Baa. Cloud was pleased by the way. hehehe Glad you enjoyed Merry's thoughts. Nope, no goats this time. I think I used all of my goats up in "Strike While the Iron is Hot". I like the 'kid' pun all the same. Love a good pun! I might just have to write that duck-feather story. Maybe Baa can turn up in that one. | |

| I love your writing style - little Pippin is beyond adorable; I think he and Sam are my favorites whenever someone writes about the adventures of our dear hobbits when they were little lads. I especially like the dialogue between the children - Pippin's especially. He is obviously a very curious and sweet-natured child. Your story made me laugh, and that is always a good thing. Thank you very much! Author Reply: Thank you so much for such a lovely review. I often write the hobbits as children and although I haven't written Sam very often as a child, I do adore him. For a while I was nervous about writing him but I do it more often now. Sometimes my stories are nearly all dialogue! I'm all talk and no action. hehehe Glad you enjoyed that. I love when people laugh while reading these. I do think that's a very good thing! | |
