Well, I figure I've haunted this place enough (and read all your stories enough times) to warrant a review. So: I absolutely adore all your stories; how you manage to balance good plot and characters (and good original characters - yeesh, I tend to have a lot of reservations about OCs, but you've proved that it *is* possible to have a decent OC!) with humor. I actually end up dropping by about once a day in hope of updates *blushes* (actually, I have no idea how I manage that - I have practically zero free time, *ponders the conundrum...*) I know a lot of people have mentioned this, but I just have to add that I LOVE your portrayal of Lord Námo! And Glorfindel! And Lord Námo and Glorfindel! I've always loved reading Námo and Glorfindel's interactions because it strikes a chord within me; I guess that while Glorfindel may be Manwe's apprentice (kind of) Námo seems to have taken up the role of father-figure (although technically Námo has to love all his charges equally - I guess there's just something special about Glorfindel. =P ) Sometimes I wish I could just stick those two in a room and watch the drama unfold! Great chapter, by the way! I thought the mysterious elf might have been Vorondil (elder) at first or maybe Eru, but then, Eru's been mighty busy of late with certain ellyn who shall remain nameless, and we can't expect Divine Intervention all the time, right? :) I'm very happy that Vorondil, Aldundil, and Ingwion are on their way towards healing - they deserve their peace. Eagerly awaiting the next installment, SgtBilko625 Author Reply: Hello, SgtBilko! I'm so glad you have been enjoying my stories, especially my portrayal of Námo and Glorfindel. They are certainly a pair, aren't they? I know a number of people were thinking the 'mysterious elf' was Vorondil, Sr. but he's only just been released from Mandos proper and is still in the Gardens of the Reborn. It'll be some time before he even makes it to Lórien. We may meet him eventually. I know many people are wary of OCs (including me!) so I've striven to make them as three-dimensional as possible, giving them back stories and keeping them as much within canon as possible (i.e., keeping them plausible within the framework of the Middle-earth universe). So I'm very pleased when people tell me they enjoy my OCs as much as they enjoy the canon characters (if not more so). At any rate, thank you so much for your review. I really appreciate you taking the time to letting me know how much you've been enjoying reading my stories. It means a lot to me.

At first I thought Iluvatar had assumed a body in order to get his children on the right track. I was delighted to find out it was Nienna. I really like Nyéreser, and sincerely hope we hear more from him. Author Reply: No, Ilúvatar would not make an appearance in Eä at this time. Why do you think he had Glorfindel and Ingwion brought to him for their little chats? *grin* I'm glad you really like Nyéreser. He literally showed up in that valley, much to my surprise. *grin* We may see more of him in later chapters.

I think I have finally figured out why I love Vorondil so - he is a typical Elf, per Tolkien... full of angst and sorrow and I really ponder if the elfling will end up slain in the future.... seems only plausible for an elf.... A very sad chapter as I just cannot stand to see the little one suffer so - though father and Ingwion suffered too - my heart broke for Vorondil...................................................... *heavy sigh* Author Reply: Well, they are all typical Elves to one degree or another, and suffering is part of life, even for elflings. The key is does the person use their suffering to learn and grow or not. That, of course, is true even for us Mortals. I think this chapter was less sad and more hopeful considering *who* was behind it all and why. Each of the Elves needed to face certain truths and decide: Life or Death? It's a choice we all must make every day of our lives, whether we are aware of that or not. All that being said and done, I'm glad that you love Vorondil so much... he's quite adorable now, isn't he? *grin*

Ooh... Yes, now I know what you meant in your reply about different types of death. The braids of the "Elf" were Maglor's? Love the little bits of humor in the beginning with Ingwion. I do hope they heal, as well as Lisselindë. ~ Indy Author Reply: Well, Aldundil thought perhaps the braid pattern was the one used by Maglor's warriors, but he wasn't quite sure... and we'll leave it a mystery for now. I'm sure they will all heal, including Lisselindë. That is, after all, why they are with Nienna.

thanks so much for writing another chapter. I can't wait for you to add a few more - I don't suppose you'd consider giving up your real life & just writing all the time? :) I have really enjoyed this entire story sequence. You write beautifully. Please keep up the good work. Author Reply: Thanks rick. I appreciate you letting me know how much you've been enjoying this series. Unfortunately, while I wqould love to devote ALL my time to writing, I do need to feed and clothe myself, so, alas! I must deal with real life. But I'm glad you think I'm good enough to be a full-time writer. Maybe someday...

Now--which type of death has Aldunil accepted for himself? Death as a result of despair, or death OF despair, a freedom to choose to live NOW? Waiting! Author Reply: We will find outthe answer to that soon enough as well as what choices the other two made.

Great chapter. It´s good that those three at their way to healing. But I really want to know what happened just after the darkening in Valinor. I guess it isn´t easy beeing in the service of the Lady Nienna. Painfilled, stubborn elfs on the one side and misdirected Maia on the other. This place at the waterfall sounds like it was made to send elfs there to help them to find their way. And it seems to be typical for Nienna to use a ruse as sending someone on a camping trip to get them to this place. Author Reply: I hope to write the story of the Darkening soon, though a need to finish up one or two other stories first so as to free up my writing time for it. Nienna is rather crafty... she rarely does anything directly where indirection serves just as well. That way those under her care don't even realize (usually) what she is doing or why.

Ooooh. I LOVED this chapter. Mysterious Strangers are such fun :D Wonderfully written, as per usual, love the mischevious-ish Nienna, and Nyereser. :D ~GF Author Reply: Thanks, GoldenFlower. I like Mysterious Strangers, too, which is why I wrote one into the story. *grin* Nienna is pretty mischievous, not to mention sneaky. One has to wonder who learned from whom: Námo or Nienna?

What a fascinating chapter! Making everyone face their inner demons - the ones they did not even like to admit to themselves. I love the complexity of your works and the things you have continued on from story to story. Deep and well done! Author Reply: Thanks, Ellie. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. More to come!

Oh, very, very, nice. Having to choose life over death... letting go of guilt or sorrow or pain or what have you. So important to do, but soooo hard to do for any of us. A very good reminder for me. Thank you. Author Reply: You're welcome, Radbooks. Yes, it's a lesson we all must learn and it's a very hard lesson indeed. Thanks for your review. I appreciate it.
