| It's wonderful that they can complain right to Osse himself. But to see Olwe hurt and young Finderato having to take over--the poor young Elf! Well told. Author Reply: I've loved the character of Finrod ever since I first read THE SILMARILLION. I had to have Olwe spending time with his grandson. The challenge was to show a youth with the seeds of strength and courage that could conceivably grow to become the King of Nargothrond who was willing to give up his crown in order to fulfill an oath. | I really like this story. I think Olwe is one of those interesting characters in the Silmarillion, that are for some reason overlooked when it comes to fanfictions. I'm glad I finally found yours. Greetings Thalanee P.S.: That's a mean ending point;-) Now we are all wondering what will happen to poor Olwe (Though we know that he will survive) Author Reply: Thanks for reading and commenting on this series of vignettes. It's funny how "vocal" Olwe has become in my mind, considering that in THE SILMARILLION he's only got a few lines of dialogue and is referred to in less than a dozen instances. I blame the muse for the cliff-hanger... that's where she left me hanging! :) | |
