i had forgotten this one; buck and fetchit and the tall tree drawing.

suggest to bilbo: he could teach frodo how ladders are made out of trees by making two steps on each page?

Author Reply: Thank you so much for the review on this one. It's always fun when an older story gets a new review.
I shall gladly pass your suggestion on to Bilbo. : )

I love it! What a sweet story. I love most that Bilbo knows this wonderful lad is not going to run out of imagination. :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I think Bilbo would have valued Frodo's imagination more than most things and I think he would have been very entertained by it. I'm glad you agree. Thanks for reading!

This is adorable! I love it all, from Frodo's tree-climbing dog to Bilbo's amusement at his cousin's imagination and his well-concealed horror at finding that Frodo used all of his fine, expensive parchment to draw parellel lines on it! What a wonderful story, GW. :)

Author Reply: Thank you! I love the idea of Frodo as an artist for some reason. Maybe it's all of the detailed maps in Bag End. Glad you enjoyed this one.

ROTFL!!!

That was great, G.W.!
Bilbo might have had not much experience with children, but he treats them in the right way, which may be different, but far more effective - and funny.

"Do you understand?"
Frodo blinked and shook his head. “No. What’s a trance-gressum? You said you could look over mine but I don’t think I have one.”

LOL! To be honest, I didn't know that word either. But now I do. It's not a charcoal stick ;-)

However, the best part was when Frodo offered to draw a ladder! Just great!

Author Reply: Thank you! I hadn't posted one to this series in a while so I'm glad you enjoyed it.
The bit with the trance-gressum was one of the silly parts that I love to put into these things. I'm so glad you enjoyed that.

For some reason ladders tend to work their way into my stories. It used to be puzzle boxes and now it's ladders and sheep. Who knows?

Thanks for reading!

Poor Bilbo--his expensive parchment being used up--and for this? And now Frodo's offering to draw the ladder, too? Heh! Too funny!

Author Reply: You can never have too many ladders.

Glad you enjoyed this.

You do such a beautiful job of getting inside the heads of an old, experienced hobbit and a small child.

Impeccable timing, as always.

I was wincing, wondering if Frodo was drawing on some map or painstakingly translated Elvish or something. Glad it was "only" expensive, blank parchment.

I have just such an energetic, enthusiastic small hobbit, and yes, they can be a bit ruinous when their imagination kicks into high gear. Whew.

Glad Bilbo has an understanding of sorts with the lad.

Author Reply: Well, hello, Lindelea! Hope things are good in your corner of the Shire. Thank you so much for the lovely review. I was glad the idea to draw on Elvish translations or maps didn't come to little Frodo. It would have been much harder for Bilbo to remain calm about that.

Hope all of your small hobbits are doing well and thank you for reading!

So Bilbo keeps books behind the sofa. Trying to neaten up before visitors, perhaps?

I was relieved to learn that Frodo had taken *blank* parchment to draw on. I was rather imagining -- and perhaps Bilbo was too -- that Frodo might have appropriated some scroll on loan from Lord Elrond, or a priceless Baggins family tree (a long tree of another kind).

Author Reply: I can imagine Bilbo keeping books everywhere! LOL

I know what you mean. Frodo could well have decided to draw on anything. Imagine Bilbo having to write to Lord Elrond and explain who a dog in a tree got on the back of one of his scrolls!

Thank you for reading this!
